Places we can practice the tips and techniques you suggest. Or anything else it dont matter. One time a buddy and I were driving through reddington in tucson and I sware I saw you taking a group in there I was so jealous. Any and all content is is open
Since Dusty tours with riders on all types of motorcycles all year long... I'd love to hear "stories from the trail" listing the most common failures of each of the different bikes and how he's repaired them in the field... and/or which failures have been trip enders and if those could have been avoided. Probably too risky for your channel, but would be really interesting to get a true opinion on each brand... ie are KTM's really that bad?
I thoroughly enjoy all your videos - but since you’re asking what I’d like most to watch, that’d be riding techniques, packing for different kinds of trips, and gear reviews in that order.
How to handle long steep descents - especially if there are corners, ruts, and other annoying things. Maybe also some general safe riding reminders - we can get to focused on the 5% technical stuff and get lazy about the 95% of "normal" riding.
Can you make a video on how to let your wife/ significant other you are leaving the kids with them for a couple of days while you go on an adventure? Or better yet a video of you explaining that she needs to give me permission to take a trip. I’m sure it would be easier hearing it from y’all! Keep up the good work! I enjoy all of your content.
Hi Dusty, What I need to know is how to be prepared for off road riding alone with a heavy bike. Not like the master Chris Birch type hard off roads, just scenic dusty roads for enjoy ☺️ Some must skills, self-training tricks and equipment check list will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help 🙏🏻 PS: I am riding 2022 KTM1290SAR
Being a newbie at age 75 (previously street for 50 years) I haven’t seen all your videos yet. I certainly appreciate all I have seen so far! Being on a limited budget currently own a Honda CB 500X (modified quite a bit for ADV), a middle weight compared to your big GS and other bikesl. I am sure though that all your tips apply to lighter weight bikes also. So for me, ways to practice and learn on my own, test of reasonable priced gear such as helmets, gloves, clothes etc. In addition I am hot blooded so need advice on protective gear that flows TONS of air; helmets, pants, jackets. Curious if there is “skeleton “ type stuff you could wear over a long sleeve shirt and light pants like knee pads, hip or shin guards, arm guards, etc. I imagine you already covered some of this stuff and I will look for it. I have to travel quite a bit to take in person classes which makes them expensive plus taking time off work (I own and operate a small remodeling business) so I absolutely love being able to learn watching your videos….Thank You!
For us older guys on heavy adventure bikes, like my CF Moto Ibex 800T, I'm not giving up yet at 71. But it's all but impossible to pick up alone. Bad knee, two back surgeries over the years , I need a lifting device, the dirt napper is no longer made and could use some ideas. Thank you for all you do.
@@MOTOTREK ty for the reply. I happen to have that same exact bike and have been riding it the way it comes from the factory and haven't messed with the settings yet.
Hi. First big thanks for all your tutorials and videos. Great job 👍. It would be nice to see also some videos, how you maintain your bike afger ride and how often. What do you check depending the type of terrain.
It would be great if you create skills series from zero to hero. With practical exercises which help to improve particular skill, and highlight of common mistakes which beginners usually do on that exercises. There are similar good videos on your channel, in which you explain in details how to hold the bar, grip technique or body position etc. It very helpful because if you are beginner, you usually dont pay attention on such details. And more more more practical exercises to train and polish skills
It would be great to see bike reviews for 2 or 3 same/like for like bikes being reviewed/rider swaps and put through their paces. Ie the T7WR vs the Norden 901 Exp vs the KTM 690/790.
Bike Reviews, gear reviews, bike prepping (tire pressure, aftermarket parts, what to bring on a day ride, what to bring on a 3 day. ride). Best bike for beginners, best bike for short riders.
more motorcycle camping, fishing, trekking. basically video not about riding, but about doing something after/before you ride. we dont need anymore videos about riding techniques.
Maintenance: 1. GEAR (goretex) pants, jackets, 2. BIKE (metal parts, plastic, electronics, wheels) Riding offroad requires more often maintenance, so would be great to learn from experienced offroad riders
Could you test some classic trail motorbikes from the 80's and 90's. Such as Honda Africa twin, Yamaha super Ténéré, Cagiva Elefant... It would be awesome ! Thank you guys and cheers from Canada.
I didn’t read comments, sorry if these are dups. I’d love to see some more complex trails to demonstrate techniques. For example, stall on an up hill is a great video, but what is it is a lot steeper and more rocky? The recovery video is partnered with this video, but how do you recover if you didn’t fall, but are stuck?
Logistics. How do you get bikes to/from start points/end points? If you live on the other side of the country, it's not practical to ride to the BDR, ride the BDR, then ride home. How do people do this?
The second you ask the viewers for ideas, you end up like the other channels because they all ask the same questions and receive the same answers. If you want to succeed as a channel or content-producer, you need to understand your core values and brand, and then build on that. Slowly but steadily you will drain your channel from organic viewers, because we would have a hard time distinguishing your content from everyone else's.... just my personal opinion. So to answer your question: I want to see whatever content you feel is original or informative to us
How to find the trails, maybe including some What3Word addresses (every biker should have W3W on their phone) and also some camping tips. MOTO is good, but don't forget the TREK!
I bought as slightly used 2022 Moto Guzzi V85TT as my first adventure bike. I’d like to know your thoughts on modulating a DRY clutch in slow-speed and/or technical maneuvers. This would apply to older GS’s as well. Do you treat a dry clutch the same as you’d treat a wet clutch?
Honda NC750X DCT as a adventure bike build budget. I know, that it is 100% road bike now, but it was "15% enduro" in the past... and may be there are aftermarket kits that can help to build the NC750X Adventure.
So drone footage of 3 guys doing some hardcore no joke off roading, breaking mistakes down. I recommend using the scrambler 1200xe, KTM 690/701, Tenere 700.
Ok, I typically run 50/50 tires. I don’t normally ride much single track. That being said, I still ride two tracks and dirt roads. I don’t think I have seen much on dealing with mud. Slick mud, soft deep mud. Uggg, I hate it.
Hey guys, im always confused with which peg to put weight on. I come from the sport bike world, did a lot of track days and even taught track riding. I got older and like many I bought a GS thinking I’d never see dirt. But UA-cam perverted me, all those great channels, MOTOTREK, Bret, Brake Mag, so many… so now I try to play off pavement. I’m much more comfortable dragging a knee than riding in loose gravel with my GS. So back to this weighing peg thing. Can you make a clinic on that? Quick direction change to cornering… thanks a lot.
Id love to see segment of Hacks and bodges as the guys from GMBN do where people send photos of modifications they do and you rate it as either something useful and everyone should know (HACK) OR something thats dodgy as (BODGE) even if it works. Could be cool.
Definitely skills training videos. Now, with the new Husquarna You can show maybe new other techniques like going through sand, mud, clay, ride through obstacles etc.
I only want to see off-road skills. There are a million channels doing bike reviews and they’re all the same it’s always the best bike they’ve ever seen since they got to ride it for free! They’re not bike “reviews” they’re bike “advertisements”! SO NO I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANOTHER ONE!
Would like to see a tutorial on tackling off roads on smaller capacity bikes(not motocross/enduros). I’m from the part of the world where we have to make do with 200-400cc bikes and I can’t find enough videos catering to smaller capacity bikes. Y’all have bigass bikes over there 😂
A video showing the off-road performance disparity between tires such as the Dunlop Mutant, Dunlop Trailmax Mission and the Dunlop Trailmax Raid. Mainly for mostly road-going guys like myself who might sample some light off road riding with road biased tires.
Giving back to the community. How can adventure riders leave things better than they found them? Volunteering, cleaning up, patronizing local businesses, donating, etc.
Your videos have always been of great help. What nobody speaks about is tricks and techniques for 2up riding, On road, off road, passenger movements, braking, potholes and bumps, slow uphill difficult curves and so on. I have riden from Alaska to Patagonia and much more with my wife behind, Doing it as a couple is the best you can do but it implies extra effort and responsibility. Thanks.
I have a 2022 Norden 901 and have gotten the newer design of windshield. I am 5' 8" and still experience strong wind buffeting without which I am sure I will enjoy my Norden ride even more. I had the windshield extension on the smaller original windshield. With the bigger one, I have not tried it. But would like to know your experience...as well as root cause of wind buffeting on Norden explained and all alternatives. 1. Bigger windshield 2. Windshield extension at top 3. Windshield extension placed on both sides of windshield vertifally 4. Impact of std mirror versus doubletake mirror as some suggestions are saying that makes a big diff. Thanks
Hi, thanks for reaching out. How to lead and sweep a large group of riders with different skill levels and different bike sizes? The ADV club 140 strong and extremely active. Most rides get capped at 15. Simply need to learn how to lead and sweep bigger groups. Leaders and sweeps are volunteers.
I feel like the grips too hot and I'm in Florida. I would change those tires as soon as possible (IMO) they don't hook-up, sadly my ankle and wrist know from experience. I did add crash bars (HEED) and although the quality is great, they failed in the design. You have to remove a good amount of hardware to change the oil. Given the intervals after the first change it's not horrible but, it's enough that I plan to make some of my own modifications to them. Excited to see more videos of your time in the 901!
Skills. Elephant snot peanut butter mud, with a low fender adventure bike. Off-road pillion ride training: what skills does the pillion need? When to turn around: Judging unfamiliar trails. Coping with adv related traffic: Side by sides, quads, dirt bikers, etc.
You're like the uncle of off-roard riding. Teach us your ways and give us ADVice. Maybe small adv bike pointers or an expert teaches a beginner rider. That's why I subscribe to yall. Also, don't be afraid to get creative. Like when you had the guy with the drum set on the trail.
Hey Dusty! I’m a student of yours from S.D., and rode out for your Borrego class. Awesome instruction!!! How about this content idea: In each of the areas you teach, you ride a rank beginner, intermediate, and advanced trail? Name of trail, distance, etc., and explain the differences needed in riding techniques, bike setup, and what you take or leave behind. Content is a bitch!
I want to start riding, but I have no idea what a minimum garage setup should be. How should I store my bike -especially if there isn’t enough garage space. What expenses do I not know about? What service could/should you do yourself?
Skills videos!!! For example: "what to do when crossing a river". Ever wondered what to do if you drop your bike in the water? Haha, not that I've done that or anything. 😓🙄
Can you please explain why there are advantages (if any) to learning with a smaller dirt bike before taking a GSA on the trails. Can you also please explain how mechanics and riding skills change when you go from a small dirt bike to a KLR to a 1250?
Skills videos! ...But like, getting on and off the bike? I'm always having to get untangled from trees and slopes. Whatever tiny steps to build balance, too. I know for you balance is easy, but not for me!
…..and how to adjust/alter my shift and brake controls. Just tried my Sidi boots for the first time and to upshift had to be real pigeon toed. I have engine case guards on my CB500X and it is very difficult to access my foot controls.
I don’t ride off-road, so while I find videos about riding off-road interesting, they don’t hold information that’s tremendously useful for me. I’d appreciate gear reviews, particularly bags and luggage, as well as information about how you travel. For example, on my first ride with luggage strapped to the bike I didn’t know what to do with it when I stopped to eat somewhere or use the restroom. Do I lock it up? Do I take it with me? Should I be thinking about minimizing risk while packing? If I’m taking a long enough trip that I need to do chain maintenance partway through, how/when do I do that? How do I pack my chain maintenance supplies? I know next to nothing about the fine details about traveling on a motorcycle.
I'd like to see: Suggestions or recommendations of adventure gear for 50/50 or mainly off-road but protective enough on the highway or twisties (more type or style than brand and model but recommendations for the later would also be nice). Tips on how to find good and/or pretty dirt roads of different levels around the US, other than the official BDRs. Road, trip or destination recommendations. Share tips or lessons acquired in your years teaching and guiding tours, which can help us avoid them or help is plan a better trip. There are many many videos of bike reviews, I'm not interested in more of them.
I'd like to see something almost like a workout plan but for adventure bike skills to practice
I second this idea. I suck at self-motivating but can follow directions!
I do a bit of highway to get to the start of a trail. It would be nice to see a 5-10min skills warmup i can do before starting on the trail.

I became a fan of Mototrek because of the skills and tips for x type of riding. I love those! But then again, I love all of your content too!
How about bike reviews or comparisons off-road? I'd love to see you whipping around on a GS13 or tiger 1200
Giving back to the community. How can adventure riders leave things better than they found them? Volunteering, cleaning up, patronizing local businesses, donating, etc.
Trip planning with something like GaiaGPS and equivalents.
Riding steep uphill / downhill, how to stand/sit/act/react. Thanks guys
Riding skills/techniques. Small tips and tricks to improve!
Can you please explain why there are advantages (if any) to learning with a smaller dirt bike before taking a GSA on the trails. Can you also please explain how mechanics and riding skills change when you go from a small dirt bike to a KLR to a 1250?
Can you please make a video of the essential tools and special tools for the 1250 GS Adventure. Thank you in advance, you all rock solid!🤙🤛
Skills videos! ...But like, getting on and off the bike? I'm always having to get untangled from trees and slopes. Whatever tiny steps to build balance, too. I know for you balance is easy, but not for me!
Easy and free off-road navigation prep (not just in the US). Out in the wild mechanics, o/w punctures
I'd like to see:
Suggestions or recommendations of adventure gear for 50/50 or mainly off-road but protective enough on the highway or twisties (more type or style than brand and model but recommendations for the later would also be nice).
I need $10,000. so you could start a go fund me fund on my behalf. That would be great. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
