2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee knocking or clicking noise on the passenger side dash #1

*** Important read this paragraph first! The motor will not turn on with out the glove box light button depressed and the key and heater with fan on. Plus it's the only way to line the key star pattern with flat side up in the new and motor. Let the motor go until stops. Then put the t star 20 screws back in snug. Then test the motor and new gear a couple times by shutting off and turning on the heater and fan. Finally put the wire clamp back into place and reassemble the rest of the removed glove box.***

Small flat tip screw driver for taking the plug off of the outside/inside electric air inlet vent motor
It probably was iced up around the vent flap and the plastic inside the dash snapped when I was warming my truck up in the morning and turned the heater on.

To line the air inlet gear key hole up turn the heater and fan on. Then turn the key on and while holding the motor against where the key hole is in the gear press glove box button in. The electric motor shaft should spin, and once the the gear and shaft key star with a flat side align it should slide into place. Once the shaft key and gear key shapes align and the motor housing after the motor stops on its own. Then let off of the button and tighten the screws that go to the air inlet actuator motor. Use a T 20 socket and ratchet to tighten and snug the 3 t star 20 screws . Put the wire clamp back in the hole. Then reassemble the glove box and your good to go. You can test it by holding the glove box light button in with glove box out.⭐ The air inlet motor will not work without the glove box light button being pushed in as if the glove was in place and shut.⭐
