I've never managed to get Mocha data copy pasted onto a null in AE where it's smooth. For some reason the data always has bumpy shakes in it every time, no matter what I do. I've tried starting from the beginning of the clips, I've made sure the clip is at the same frame rate... :( sigh wish someone could solve this dammed annoyance for me. If you can... I'll think you're a God!

Have you looked into the newish face tracker for after effects? If you wanted 3D as in reverse light ray tracing (like how digital 3D animated films are made) then know it will take a hell of a long time to render but it is possible with things like blender and the popularity of the program means there should be a lot of resources to show you how to do it.
Did anyone find a good solution to this? I was able to track a 3d head over my head using green screen and 3d camera tracker in AE and then exported that camera data into C4D where I added the 3d model. It seems to work ok, but I want to see a tutorial on something more like tracking an entire body to add 3d clothing etc. I'm guessing a full green screen suit with track markers would work, but has anyone tried it or made a tut?
A big thumbs up for a big help Tobias :D in depth but still quick tutorial on Mocha for beginners. Video files for download really helped me quickly learn the concept here which otherwise was a headache to search or shoot for a similar video

Awesome, thx a lot. Tracking often made me go crazy^^ Hope there will be detailed Mocha tutorials in the future ;) i especially think about the gopro camera distortion/fisheye, what i think is the biggest problem in tracking gopro material.
I think u just have to go to the effects thing and search for "lens" then you adjust something (I don't know what) and you can make it look like it wasn't recorded in an action cam sorry for not knowing what to adjust

At 10:28 to tighten all corners at once simply right-click and drag one of the corners and they will all respond. No need to select them first with CTRL-A etc.
Hi Tobias, Today I started tracking a big project I am working on with the use of mocha! everything went well, but when I selected the X-spline tool and clicked on the first point, nothing happened :( A solid was created and a green pin showed up , but I can't see the mask. What am I doing wrong? This looks like my problem: www.imagineersystems.com/forums/topic/2777/ I am using Mocha 4.0.2 and I use a macbook pro with 10.11.4 captain what should I do? ps. Greetings Tobias. Off course when talking about AE, I always come back to you. I have what I thought was a simple task, tracking my grandson around an empty baseball field, yet it's not as simple as I thought. Using Camera tracking gets me great results, but it's tracking everything but him. Looking further, maybe Mocha is the way to go? I'm only half way through this tut, but was wondering if I'm on the right......wait for it............TRACK, ta da! Any input is greatly appreciated as usual.
If there's enough interest I will be sure to create tons more tutorials for it - there's some great stuff you can do with it and it only got better with version 5
Amazing Tutorial :) Maybe a suggestion for you next mocha tutorial: a Matte Painting like building mountains in your background, (replacing the sky) and putting different objects to your scene (maybe with Element 3D)
I did this and it was great. I tried some stock footage I pulled and got it all together except the footage I put inside the tracker is overlapping the movement in the scene where the tracking is.
Basically I tracked footage to go inside a computer screen. The video footage with the computer screen has movement of a hand over the computer screen. But the footage placed in the track ends up over the video. I think it’s because I have to mask out the overlap..

For tracking a face or head you need 'object tracking' which is quite a level more advanced than basic planar tracking
