This is by far the BEST video for texturing bottom layers! I prefer straight cut at the bottom versus angled down towards the face but it looks perfect! So many horrible videos on YT lol.
Thank you for posting! I followed your video to cut my daughter's hair yesterday. She has very thick hair so I separated 2 more sections of her hair to make it easier. The length was reduced by about 7 inches so it was a big change. I am going to do a little layering in the front today. The cut looks beautiful on her! She is 28 years old and I have been cutting my kids hair for years using photos and videos. Thanks for this excellent, detailed tutorial!
thank you so much for making this vid!! i have butchered my hair so many times... and since my hair grows so slowly, i have been afraid to touch it... despite the millions of split ends 😩but all your info was super helpful and i really like how you explained everything...my cut actually turned out really nicely this time! i really appreciate it!
Please make more videos! I learned more from this than I have learned from the last hundred tutorials I’ve watched! I’m a new cosmetology grad and this was extremely helpful.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU for showing this cut AND how to style! I haven't been able to find both in one video yet. When I found your video it was exactly what I was looking for! ❤
Im only 15 and im seriously into cutting and styling :) ill be doing my aunties hair today just like this so thankyou! This video truly helps me:) if you want, I'll show you before and after!
whenever i cut an "-A- layered bob" when i transitioned from the back area to the sides area i always had hard time telling what "elevation degrees" i'm using at the sides area (with diagonal sections) since "elevation degrees" refer to "vertical volume creation" and not to "diagonal volume creation" those diagonal sections really mess with my mind since both elevation and overdirection applied automatically if you choose to work with diagonal sections (except if you are at 90 degrees which will give the same result in any section shape). if you think about that, "vertical section elevation" is actually an "up-down" overdirection of the section. while the second type of overdirection is "left-right" overdirection. both of those happen at the same time while using diagonal sections, and that's why it's hard to tell what are the exact "elevation degrees" you are using. when it's hard for me to tell what are the degrees, it's also hard for me to recreate the same shape on the right and the left side of the head while working with diagonal sections. salon education has so many things un explained, i had to create my own terms to be able to explain how things work so i understand your struggle with naming your techniques and trying to teach them.
That was excellent! Thank you! Really well explained and very clearly filmed. I'm restyling a wig, and your tutorial is probably the most useful example I've found to date. I hope your channel is a huge success 😊
Love this Lance! I'm going to be using this technique today on my first client. Thank you for showing so much detail in the styling section. I need to remember to take smaller sections 🙂
I like this cut. Ive had a lot of bad cuts. Maybe because my hair is wavy. Should i straighten my hair so the stylist can tell where its uneven? I am tired of uneven cuts. Btw i love that you tell stylists to take their time👍. Rushed cuts never end up nice
Would it be appropriate to ask my next stylist to watch this before cutting my hair? I must have gone to almost 10 different stylists and no one has gotten this right. But your cut and style is absolutely perfect!!
Love, love, love this haircut tutorial! I can't quit watching it because as soon as my hair is a little longer...I am getting this cut. Love the happy dance too, Lance. Please make some more vids when you can. You make haircutting informative and fun. Thanks.
Most have Failed at styling this, you executed this BEAUTIFULLY 🥰

Straightening may help some! But, it could also be the stylist who’s cutting it! You may wanna try someone else to check it ♥️♥️♥️
Great job at explaining and camera work!
Thank you 🙏🏻
