I recently got a 1995 Honda Accord EX F22B1 2.2L w/ 118,000 Original Miles around April for my birthday still have it. I plan on rebuilding everything wish I could send my car out to be Restored from you guys keep up the good work !
Best engines. I personally had a b16a2 and a b18c. Both great engines. I do love the b16 more though. Way more fun to wind out with the short gear tranny. Super reliable. Those motors are best kept NA.
Just got done watching it. What a great video. I just rebuilt my b18c and then watched this, it was so enjoyable. Love the music. Keep these awesome videos coming please👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥🔥🔥
1. Aftermarket o-ring cam caps (those oem style suck and leak) 2. Aftermarket ATI or fluiddampr harmonic balancer. Your old oem one is almost certainly shot and out of balance and b-series is particularly sensitive to issues there. _STRONGLY_ recommend this cheap insurance. Good job overall. So many people butcher these rebuilds with cheap parts and inattentive assembly. Done 5 myself, don't sell your cars! You got another sub!
When you go to oil prime a brand new B series the best way to prime the engine is with an external oiler system ran by 40psi of air. Second choice is cranking the motor over till the oil light goes off. If you do it this way remove the spark plug so yhere is no compression load on semi dry bearings
@@StraightWhitearrow OP wasn’t talking about just cutting spark, he was referring to removing compression load to the bearings. IE leaving the spark plug holes open so the pistons make no compression as they move cuz they can’t squeeze the air with that massive leak.
i have a 1998 with a gorgeous b18 , i love it , i actually took it out today to the car wash , when i saw the dizzy you installed i was like wowwwwww thats so sexy , i need one !!!! . so sick , i love the video
This is gonna help me a lot with my build, super similar parts list. I have a 92 VX Hatchback I'm currently doing body work on, and rebuilding my B18c as well.
Gotta love guys who still have the time to build old school civics while working on the new junk, well might as well ask this, when doing an LS/V what head do you guys recommend? I see a lot of GSR heads but I really want a b16b or b17 head
B18c5(itr) and B16A/B are all the same casting. Supposedly the b18c1(gsr) has _slightly_ better combustion area shape (quench) for turbos. All are great heads, you can't really go wrong. But your bigger concern is compression ratio afterward, so use the calculator, or cc your heads if they are decked.
When are you going to do a project with an H22? I would love to see a project with that series since that is my platform on my Honda Del Sol! Although mine is a bit different since I use F20B and B series transmission (H2B) in my F2B case!
It’s good coming across these videos while doing the exact same build , it make things so much easier 🤌🏼 If I may ask what are your oil clearances for the motor & what was your torque settings for the rod bolts ? I also have eagle rods with arp2000 3/8” bolts , the help would be appreciated as I do not want to get this wrong 😅
How much in total did the machine work and assembly of the head and bottom rotation asslembly cost? I got this H22A2 that was rebuilt but was never put into a car and has been sitting in a garage for the past 8 years. I would like to go through it myself but I feel like I would mess somthing up and cost me big time so I'd rather want a shop to do the assembly of the bottom asssembly with how tight some tollernaces can be. for rn I am still just rolling with the b18b1 the last owner threw into my civic I want to boost it but honestly I feel like the h22 would be a better choice to do that with
unwanted opinion, I know, but I bought those blox stainless studs for my exhaust and decided not to run them. they were garbage. the screws were all warped, in some way. tested with other hardware, only the blox stuff was like that. arp stainless studs were straight. oem studs were straight. I had a bad experience with a stainless stud, so I went with 12.9 steel hardware
What were your collective thoughts on the BLOX lma’s? I’m getting ready to do a mild refresh to my 1st gen b16a head and I am having a hard time deciding which lma’s to get.
No sir. It's not 700 thousandths. That would be just a touch less then ¾" of an inch. 7 thousandths is correct sir. Visually it looks like this .007 It's easy to make the mistake for most if it's not a frequent action. I worked in precision machine shops for a decade. My father owned his own shop 20 years. No worries guy. The engine is looking great😊👍
This isn’t a world record setting race car bro. It’s a resto-mod street/track fun car that can do it all without being a tin can. The windows are a lot heavier than that, why not put that ugly ass Lexan plastic that gets all scratched up too? C’mon dude. Look at what the hatch looks like now, it’s a damn work of art.
That Mazda red was a great choice for the color of the car
It’s a beautiful color
This video couldn’t have came out at a more perfect time. Currently rebuilding my b.
That’s great to hear. Hope your project goes well 👍🏼

Haven't watch it a while but I do know Bode throw watch boosted boiz, Bode does some amazing work.
Right on
It’s so refreshing watching a engineer build. I enjoyed building my B18C
Cheers!!
Sorry I’m late to the party! Absolute pleasure working with you guys on this project. I can’t wait for what’s to come! Keep up the great work guys!
This is soooo beautiful seeing this beast coming together! It’s like seeing an engine being born!!! Can’t wait to hear her fired up!!! 😄🤙🏼
Thank you guys. Unique video with all of the detailed spes of the build. Loved seeing the steps of the build
I like how y’all work at Acura and putting a type R motor together on free time. 💪🏽
I can’t wait to start this bad boy up!
Soon..... very soon!!

wonderful tip, I plan on building the b18c I have in my garage soon, it will be my first time building an engine.
No you unplug the distributor

Nice job 👏.. my 91 ACURA INTEGRA has a B18A non vtec now I wish I had this one in it.
Grab a Vtec head and you are in the club
that piston look insane 🔥
Compression :-0
Damn, awesome built B18C but piston oil cap and distributor clear cover looked so cool! Great Job and can’t wait to see next video! 😁👍
Thanks for tuning in
The clear covers look cool af but always seem to arc and lose performance in my experience. They could be made well, but the mr gasket ones are not.
Wow man I wish to have the cash to make this happen on my EX. You guys are very talented!
Thanks so much!!
John and Miguel are the B series engine dynamic dual.
They sure are 🙌🏼
i have a 1998 with a gorgeous b18 , i love it , i actually took it out today to the car wash , when i saw the dizzy you installed i was like wowwwwww thats so sexy , i need one !!!! . so sick , i love the video
Can’t wait to see a Civic in Mazda Soul Red Crystal Metallic!!!
Coming right up
me e quedado maravillado que forma de trabajar yo tengo un civic eg 5 Motor d15 b2 y estoy muy contento un saludo desde GRANADA Andalucia

Awesome, good to see another build.
Let’s get the next video of this bad boy!
Nice job guys !👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!!
looks so easy on a nice clean shop with stands XD
Awesome work! 🖤
Thank you! 😁
Wow 👍 that’s amazing work!! Wishing my gsr B18C1 can rebuild with you guys; it has 254k miles, run good but starts burn quite a bit of oil
Thank you
You guys do amazing work 👍👍
Thank you!!!
*SATURDAYS ARE FOR THE BOYS*
😎😎😎
Right on!!
If this engine is authentic then its worth alot.
👍🏼👍🏼
Even with ARP studs , I still like to use the alignment dowel pins.
Labor of love ❤️
Couldn’t agree more
Damn eyegasm
Thank you!!
Great video very informative

Hello, what color code is the valve cover, please?
Nice work guys, beautiful engine! Have you ever work on 2zzge vvtli 1.800 192hp toyota engine?
35:20 Please, can u write a name of ignition nodule? I wanna them for my civic please 😍
What's the brand of the ignition system?
Their IG @digidizzy

Perhaps in the near future, love the H2B setup as well
Loving it!!! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Much appreciate it

Hello, great video, where i can find that black connector ignition coil? Thanks
Have a link to the purple seal installer tool used for when installing the oil pump?
Can i get info on the crank snout tool used for the oil pump install? Thanks
It would be nice if you'd explain what you were doing as you went along.
I saw you lift the b series with a seatbelt strap in another video... where did you tie them up in order to lift it?
Love the build...I have an engine spec that is very similar to yours. Out of curiosity, what supercharger setup do you plan on running?
Hi, was the block decked as well?
Do you know what size the blox manifold studs are you used? They seem to have a few different lengths.
Loved the Video man! How much would a rebuilding like this cost?
How much in total did the machine work and assembly of the head and bottom rotation asslembly cost? I drive a 2000 acura integra gsr. Been using mobile1 5w30 for a while. What brand motor oil are you currently using?😊
I love your videos
Thank you!!
What was the cost to do the bottom end doi g a b19c type r just wondering?
Hello from Poland , What a ignition camera is that
Hi sir just asking about the wiseco piston for b20vtec which piston is better for b20v
What were your collective thoughts on the BLOX lma’s? I’m getting ready to do a mild refresh to my 1st gen b16a head and I am having a hard time deciding which lma’s to get.
Actually there is an option with side markers and no moldings from the factory
What's the total cost of the engine rebuild?
Where the next video love the build
Literally says B16A on the block, how’s that a B18C5. Great video, just spotting what I saw
What!? haha
So I guess when I saw b16a that was a clip of the other engine he’s sayin yall built? Love the videos ❤

Where's the next part to this engine build?
In your opinion, why do many people prefer to use Vtec instead of Mivec from Mitsubishi
Because it’s Vtec 😄
Does anyone know the paint code on that valve cover???
Yep
Make it B18ctype r all motor
It is a high compression B18C Type-R motor now, with an option to supercharge very soon 😁
camera man fell asleep a few times. camera movement was a little droopy there bro
Мне бы такой двигатель на integra)))
How much
Wait did hé just say 300hp plus😅
Who can build me this same engine in Las Vegas ? Or Los Angeles?
THAT LINER WEIGHS TO MUCH........
Not everyone wants a stripped down shit box. That little bit of weight will not matter with a nice motor.

Quick question I have 08 Corolla did so many things engine vibration bad I changed the mounts and smog no leaks passed smog confused
Hi is there any way to contact you?
Also where do you get your engines done or how much can you do it for
😋👍
🤙🏼🤙🏼
