My dad had the same merc. He gave it to me and it would pull away from 20s in Canada. I remember the tiller handle unscrewed and was a screwdriver. And the head had 2 blind tapped holes for spare plugs!
I had a ke4 I put so many hours on as a kid . I always wanted a kg7 or a kg4. The sound is unique. I have a 62 straight 6 merc 850 powerhead looking for a donor motor !
Watching this T-shirt weather at the lake with a smooth running outboard in the open air, and today I just finished snow blowing the driveway in 6 degree Fahrenheit weather. I'm really looking forward to spring! Beautiful work on that outboard. Thanks for showing us.
Very good work to bring that beauty back. These older ones were build well and are very reliable.
Reliable because of the amount of oil in the mixture

I am fascinated with this model - 10 HP but gives much more than that - just fantastic concept.

Looked like you were hauling azz for 10hp. It also looked like you started in gear.
It’s always in gear
