Ok I am very sorry for your loss mate, but to be fair I had no idea that your mum died and also you fired shots at me first. So insult me then I am afraid I'll insult u back.
Trevaun Dhom It is, I've owned one several years, it's the best Strat. I've ever played, best electric guitar I've ever played as well, awesome range super crystal clear to slightly dirty, nothing like it!!!
Lee is getting better and better. I've always enjoyed listening to him thrust out some tasty blues, but I always knew his playing was in its primitive stages of development. He's grown into quite the amazing player.
The Clapton signature Stratocaster. Is the most powerful Guitar in the world. It has the highest output of all guitars. The Clapton signature Stratocaster At 25 DB mid boost has 140 times higher output than a Gibson Les Paul. At 12 DB mid boost ( the lowest level on the Clapton Stratocaster ) it has 32 times higher output than a Gibson les Paul. The Clapton dignature Stratocaster is always active which makes its stacked Humbuckers ( vintage noiceless ) 3 times more powerful. In The Clapton signature Stratocaster they measure 29,4 Khom.
Agreed, Captains confidence in his playing is very noticeable now and he seems genuinely inspired more and more in the last year. Great phrasing and a WICKED vibrato, LOVE it! I'm a huge fan of these videos and it's great watching Lee progress...and always a pleasure to watch the legendary Chappers!!
Capt Lee has really gotten a lot better since they have started doing these vids. He really has a good way of phrasing simple things and making them sound good.
Rob. I've been following you since 3 to 4 years now and it's amazing to see how you and your videos developed over the years. all the best wishes for what you plan and what you want to achieve. congrats from germany!
I can't imagine how awesome it would be to work in or even own a guitar store. I know some guys personally who do (yet I'm only 14, and don't play all that well), and they say it's like they've never worked a day in their lives. I mean, you walk into work, and you have every guitar imaginable hanging on the walls for you and your customers to enjoy. Lee, you have quite the awesome life man.
Chris Hardin His playing is really strange..Because he knows his stuff and can play some? nice licks, but he gets caught in the mistake of playing crap shred as fast as possible in the shortest amount of time and it always seems like he hasn't warmed up . He says he is a blues man but REALLY? Where? when? He is frustrating....
Haha, indeed! because usually they are gear head guitarists and not true artists ? And most of the times they don't even care to show us how the guitar actually sounds, eg play a note and let us hear the sustain, strum a chord and let us hear if the instruments 'sings' or not ... Oh and by the way, enough with the bedroom level demos. People should want to jam or gig with a guitar.
What bothers me is that in the 50'& 60's you didn't have to buy a "custom shop" guitar to get a top quality Fender. .Even the cheapest Duo-Sonic or Mustang was "Quality"
Ken Sooy Sr. Custom Shop was started in 1987. There was no such beast in the 50's and 60's. Back then, people either paid top dollar for guitars or didn't buy them. When CBS bought Fender in 1965, they wanted to cut as much cost as possible, so the quality of the guitars dwindled. In 1985, the employees for Fender bought the company from CBS under the direction of William Shultz. Shultz wanted to bring the quality that Leo Fender had originally produced back to the market, but didn't want to cut out the entire market of cheaper guitars that CBS had introduced. This is where the Custom Shop started. The mass-produced models are available for sale, but if you want a hand-built guitar like Fender originally made, you're going to be paying a lot. That doesn't mean a mass produced guitar is crap, though, and it really depends on your definition of "top quality". For instance, let's consider a comparison between a Classified Moto custom bike and a Yamaha motorcycle (ranked the most reliable motorcycle company). You can pay $8000 and get a brand new Bolt, or you can pay upwards of $20,000 for a Classified Moto custom bike. It all comes down to personal taste and whether you are willing to pay more for something specifically for you or pay less for a mass produced version that does the same thing. Understand?
Are the regular American Pros so bad? The notion that the Custom Shop reissues are "better" is mostly so shops can sell more expensive guitars. The old rule of thumb......if it says Custom Shop or Reissue, you're going to pay too much.
The Clapton signature Stratocaster has the highest output in the world. No other guitar even gets close. It has 140 times higher output than a Gibson Les Paul At 25 DB mid boost. At The Clapton lowest setting 12 DB mid boost it has 32 times higher output than a Gibson Les Paul.
I really wish I could do what yall guys do. Thank yall and right on for all the great fun yall have and show on these vids. Much respect a fellow musician.
I've played the relic version of the David Gilmour Strat at a guitar show and to this day has been the best sounding and feeling guitar I've ever played.....ever.
Wait, the Captain is really good! Man you should play a lot more in these reviews. I enjoyed every moment. Rob is always good no need to address that since he always plays and we are used to him sounding good - Pete.
I prefer the Captain's playing so much more. More meaningful and soulful. Chappers plays brilliantly, but during a blues play through it's really quick licks and in my opinion it just doesn't go..
I disagree with that. I think Gilmour is a way nicer player, more creative, melodically pleasing than Clapton for my taste and it is subjective obviously.
Pure pleasure moment, I am becoming a Captain fan, the touch and feel I am looking for. Rob impressed me a lot as well because, I feel he can play everything, ok is an amazing metal player, but when he play the blues he got it. thanks guys
as a massive Gilmour fan I can confirm the shortened tremolo arm is simply for more control in that he keeps the tremolo in his hand while he plays for much of the time
Don't know if this has been done, but would like to see a custom shop Clapton strat vs. standard Clapton strat. I can see the spec differences but what about tone? Thanks!
I love the short term arm! I went and bought one for my American Standard. I like the higher tension and just the fact that it's not in the way as much as a standard sized arm.
Lee's so badass, you should let him play more in these videos. It's a nice contrast to your style, let's you see a different side to the gear you guys demo
Yes, the MIM are nice for the price. I have three MIJ, that are also nice, but in the 50's and 60's they were ALL nice and made in America. Very little "Custom" work was needed. Pickups were occasionally changed, but in general you bought the guitar for the sound that you wanted. Basicly Tele, Strat, or Jazzmaster. You didn't really need a Custom Shop or Signature model because they were all built with quality control. "Lemons" were seldom encountered. People experimented with tone and pickup circuts, but the basic guitars were high quality.
Grrrreeetings, Chappers and Capt! I'd looove to see your take (Capt's specially) on Little Wing (SRV style, of course, full version). Come on! Do it! Do it! :D Looking forward to it.
Well, Capt. I think Rob's an incredible guitar player, with amazing technique who does great in every style. Well, he's a pro. And i love his playin', too Though when you play the blues, there's something genuine about it that i like so much (and many others too, not surprisingly). It's the touch and feel, like someone said before, that not every super guitarist has. I've complimented your playing before, and I must do it again. Cheers!
Fender makes some nice guitars. I really love the blacktop tele. Its very cool to rock out on a body style that is over 60 years old. I also have a 1999 Big Apple strat with a Super Vee double locking trem. I know who cares.lol...Its just that these videos get me going. Thank you guys so much.
vai said that a light and a deep scallop feel the same, and i can agree there. the amount of space between your fingers and the fretboard doesnt matter, as long as your fingers dont touch the fretboard (wich is pretty much given with the slighter scallops, unless you use tiny vintage frets). a deeply scalloped fretboard will be pretty much impossible to refret, although it's already going to be a huge mess with a very slightly scalloped board.
in case you are interested in the rig and not just the vid: squier classic vibe 60's strat, fender blues junior, a delay, a wah and a smooth overdrive of some sort. bluesbreaker or ts clone or both, john uses both pedals and their copies. and maybe a tremolo as well. should be possible under 1000 bucks with a pretty close tone (he even used the blues jr in studio)
Do you guys write your intro music? Great videos, always look forward to watching them as they come out! Wish you guys were in the States, we could use more shops like yours
Hey Chappers, I was wondering if I could ask. I've been playing for close to 4 years and I'm a decent player now and I'm usually quite confident in my playing. But today for the first time in a while I had a really bad playing day, played for hours, couldn't play anything well. I felt like my tone was bad. I was just all over the place. So I guess what I'm wondering is, on a day like this you recommend putting down the guitar for the day or persisting? Do you have bad days when playing? Thanks
It's nice to see the captain play. He is so good with blues it makes my mouth water
is it Muddy Water?
+loopy Ruane Owns the music shop he works in though...
lmao
Ok I am very sorry for your loss mate, but to be fair I had no idea that your mum died and also you fired shots at me first. So insult me then I am afraid I'll insult u back.
+BananzyTV dude he insulted u not ur mom -.-
That mid boost circuit in the Eric Clapton signature guitar is awesome!!!
Trevaun Dhom It is, I've owned one several years, it's the best Strat. I've ever played, best electric guitar I've ever played as well, awesome range super crystal clear to slightly dirty, nothing like it!!!
Good to hear the guys paying their dues to the blues, really going back to the roots.
Lee is getting better and better. I've always enjoyed listening to him thrust out some tasty blues, but I always knew his playing was in its primitive stages of development. He's grown into quite the amazing player.
That Clapton Strat is the business. Great playing as always.
The Clapton signature Stratocaster. Is the most powerful Guitar in the world. It has the highest output of all guitars. Eric and David guitars @8:00

I'm a huge fan of these videos and it's great watching Lee progress...and always a pleasure to watch the legendary Chappers!!
I just checked the relic version and i have to say i have never ever wanted a beaten up guitar more in my life
Capt Lee has really gotten a lot better since they have started doing these vids.
He really has a good way of phrasing simple things and making them sound good.
You guys are cheering me up today, listening to the banter of these is very humorous and fun, and very informative, much appreciated!
the fact someone has "more talent" does not mean that we can't enjoy your tasteful playing!
superb work on these reviews, cheers from Poland!
I am a metalhead, never listened to blues but i love to get a a cup of coffee and listen to these 2 playing some blues.
Rob.
I've been following you since 3 to 4 years now and it's amazing to see how you and your videos developed over the years.
all the best wishes for what you plan and what you want to achieve.
congrats from germany!
I'm in love with the Quilt Honeyburst Strat. So beautiful.
You blokes are the Top Gear of the guitar world I reckon.
Do this again!!!! I know I'm four years late but I love this!!!
Nice to see the Captain on lead, I'm used to the newer videos where he's almost exclusively playing rhythm.
The Clapton signature Stratocaster is the highest output guitar in the world. It has 140 times higher output than a Gibson Les Paul.
Capt Lee, your playing has so much feeling, I enjoy listening to your jams, nothing seems flash and fast it just feels nice, super nice.
Lee likes the baby blues now. He used to always use the boiling point. Both nice pedals. Have both. Baby blues is my favorite out of the two though
I'd love to hear a comparison of Clapton's strat and Lee's modified Squier
I can't imagine how awesome it would be to work in or even own a guitar store. I know some guys personally who do (yet I'm only 14, and don't play all that well), and they say it's like they've never worked a day in their lives. I mean, you walk into work, and you have every guitar imaginable hanging on the walls for you and your customers to enjoy. Lee, you have quite the awesome life man.
Play a damn gilmour lick already!!
All he does is mindless sloppy shred..no feeling with 20,000 notes compared to Mr Gilmores 2 notes, tonnes of feeling...
Chris Hardin His playing is really strange..Because he knows his stuff and can play some? nice licks, but he gets caught in the mistake of playing crap shred as fast as possible in the shortest amount of time and it always seems like he hasn't warmed up . He says he is a blues man but REALLY? Where? when? He is frustrating....
haha
There's something about guitar demos which just causes people to play like crap and make the guitar sound uninspiring.
Oh, Captain, I could listen to you play all day~

rob is such a magician for playing on that left leg How is that even possible
Man, the tone in your intro is SO great!
The Clapton and the Gilmour sound awesome.
5:37 onwards, I could listen to Lee's lead all day every day.
G-RAD17 Especially at 6:12
dont ya just love that fender tone
Love that birds eye maple neck! They make lovely fish fingers too! Eh? Eh? I'll be here all week!
God, Rob's got that glassy John Mayer tone on that first Strat in the intro of the first jam.
Capt. your blues playing is awesome! And Chappers great as always.
Got to agree with you, Rob was as always on top form, but something about Capn's playing in this video especially seemed so heartfelt...
Captain! Your tone when you first started playing the tele was soooooooo good D: love it
The Clapton signature Stratocaster is the most powerful guitar that exists. It has tremendously much more output than any other guitar.
The Captain was dead on with that tele. Hot licks abound.
Hay capt and chappers love it videos they are my most watched video on u tube !!! Keep rocking!
Sweet Jam! Loved the Gritty Tones Captain Lee!
I really wish I could do what yall guys do. Thank yall and right on for all the great fun yall have and show on these vids. Much respect a fellow musician.
Dude your 60HZ hum is killing me!!!
I've played the relic version of the David Gilmour Strat at a guitar show and to this day has been the best sounding and feeling guitar I've ever played.....ever.
lee's tele solo was one of the best andertons demo playing ive heard so far
Wait, the Captain is really good! Man you should play a lot more in these reviews. I enjoyed every moment. Rob is always good no need to address that since he always plays and we are used to him sounding good - Pete.
Mid-boost is always on :-), you can only increase it. And when you roll it down (and it's still on, always) it's that typical Clapton-tone.
That nocaster jam man ! GEZUZ , was the guitar directly fed into the blues jr , or where you using some pedal ?
My two favorite artists of all time!
Thank you for not relic them.
I want that DG strat.
ik im a little late but could you try the rory gallagher custom strat
I prefer the Captain's playing so much more. More meaningful and soulful. Chappers plays brilliantly, but during a blues play through it's really quick licks and in my opinion it just doesn't go..
I disagree with that. I think Gilmour is a way nicer player, more creative, melodically pleasing than Clapton for my taste and it is subjective obviously.
nextmove Are you able to read?
Hey Rob! Bleed the light intro, awesome :=)
God you can really here the 70s Clapton sound, Nice sounds
This must be the first chappers blues jam! hurray!
Thanks!
That would be great to see and compare
The standard one certainly does not have "noiseless pickups"...
Carlos M
Yes it does.
Yo Captain! Dig your playing man! Keep the vids comming!
The telecaster jam was awesome!
The custom dlx tele sounds amazing. The captain plays it very well.
A proud supporter of 5 hour energy
This video is awesome, I love just listening to the capt and chappers jamming! :)
Captain, great playing! I love your phrasing.
I think it's safe to say that a blues album with Captn and Chappers would be monstrously epic :D
Lee is hard on himself, he's come a long way.
epic jams ! Best guitar videos on youtube.
your videos have come a long way lol
Funny thing I often find those demos have a great lesson value for me :D
I love the short term arm! I went and bought one for my American Standard. I like the higher tension and just the fact that it's not in the way as much as a standard sized arm.

Captain....VERY nice playing, tone and feel!!
yeah, I think chappers has brought him to a new level of playing honestly. They are much more at ease with each now then when they first started.
Grrrreeetings, Chappers and Capt!
I'd looove to see your take (Capt's specially) on Little Wing (SRV style, of course, full version).
Come on! Do it! Do it! :D
Looking forward to it.
The Gilmour/Clapton section actually made me close my eyes and imagine it was Gilmour and Clapton jamming together lol.
What is this at 6:13 when Lee playing his solo?! Ii is great!
Well, Capt.
I think Rob's an incredible guitar player, with amazing technique who does great in every style. Well, he's a pro. And i love his playin', too

I've complimented your playing before, and I must do it again.
Cheers!
I've played this Clapton Strat at my local guitar store and it sounds great and is very comfortable for only $1500.
I love these guys
it's like Top Gear for guitars
Fender makes some nice guitars. I really love the blacktop tele. Its very cool to rock out on a body style that is over 60 years old. I also have a 1999 Big Apple strat with a Super Vee double locking trem.

Love the quilt on the Tele. Top quality quilts are becoming more rare, the market is flooded with boring flame maple guitars :-)
The Telecaster jam was sick.. I wanna see more of The Captain and Rob playing together...

Do you guys write your intro music? Great videos, always look forward to watching them as they come out! Wish you guys were in the States, we could use more shops like yours
Eric Clapton strat sounds fantastic!
Were the 50s and 60s reissues you guy were playing on 7.25 radius boards? If so, how was the action on thous guitars? Awesome video.
I believe action is how far the strings are away from the fretboard, so low action means that the strings are closer. :)
If you watch this at half speed, Lee sounds like he's drunk.
+Cronic 420 I couldn't stop laughing once I tried it outXD
The gilmour strat sounds amazing!
CLAPTON SIGNATURE!!!!!! BLEW MY MIND!
Rob missed a trick. when he was playing the David Gilmour Strat, he should have played the main riff from 'Time'
The Clapton signature Stratocaster is the highest output guitar in the world. Its insane.
Lee's Solo on that first jam was fucking superb
Hey Chappers, I was wondering if I could ask. I've been playing for close to 4 years and I'm a decent player now and I'm usually quite confident in my playing. But today for the first time in a while I had a really bad playing day, played for hours, couldn't play anything well. I felt like my tone was bad. I was just all over the place. Thanks
that custom deluxe strat behind rob there.... i love it.
Holy shit I want that microswitch from the Gilmour Strat on my own guitars that is awesome
***** My thoughts exactly!
***** It´s pretty easy and cheap to do!
I've installed one on mine, believe me you won't use it as much as you think... but its still awesome sounding and very useful.
+Eric Bishton I think if you buy certain models of G&L Legacy or S500, those switches come with them stock
Love my switch. I had an old Black Strat and rebuilt it early this year with the same electronics as Gilmour's
Wow! Those are really beautiful guitars.
Yeah,I just thought the same thing. Has he been playing a long time? He seems much more confident with his playing.Good stuff.
I'd like to hear a video of the new fenders new vintage re-issue lineup, the teles, strats, jazzmasters etc. Havn't found many great demos thus far.
