Okay, 7 years later. This man at 2:20 seriously stared at the sawblade, was probably timing the movement in his head, and just walked straight into it. I want to find that person and ask him questions.

That was totally a shpee. Because he had default everything and that was the time when most players joined (including me)
he forgot he could strafe
I think I cracked the code.
He starts moving when the sawblade bounces back. Which is definitely something he didn’t expect.
So he was timing it in his head, saw that he got a window of opportunity. But didn’t anticipate that it would bounce back.

Valve NEEDS to add a strange part for assisting a saw blade death.
ViciousVinnyD all i can say is that that would be most likely non functional as when you assist in a suicide the game does not track how they killed themselves and since a saw is considered as a suicide it would not count. however it does sound like a good idea if they were to change it.

Elwis From Poland I love you. I was about to say that same thing. Heck, I'd even take part in that experiment if I got to not only find a decent TSL server, but play with Jerma himself. Hell, I'd probably be able to go to Hoovy Heaven, which is unfortunately on the same plane as Earth because if it wasn't, than everyone on Earth would be squashed.

It's totally possible to make the saws move like 400x the normal speed. You've gotta decompile the map and edit the "speed" value in the saw. It's a little more complicated than that, but that's basically it. Unfortunately decompiling a map also ruins it a little so it would need a ton of tweaking.
I tried it myself. I made the saws go extremely fast, and I added six more on the ceiling above the point on all sides. It was a terrible idea.

There should be strange sawblades that have an "idiot" counter.
When you host a server you get an item titled "Strange Sawblade" That counts all sawblade kills on your server.
Strange Part: Kills by map.

new game rules: one saw is blue saw, the other is redsaw. which ever saw kills the most people of the other team, is the winner (Red counts blue kills, blue counts for red kills)

SO on the Science end of things, If the top score for one team was 23, 19, 16: If we Don't count the points for Capping the point, Then I would say the Sawblades might have be Above average in terms of kills.

First time i played in this map i though i'd get some kind o achievement for hitting the sawblade and got into the b-ball hoop

This is like if Team Fortress 2 was featured in a Super Meat Boy warpzone.
Anyone ever noticed the basketball hoop on one side of the sawblades? You can try to get a basket with your own ragdoll, or if you're good enough with airblast, other people's ragdolls. I've always loved Sawmill because even the damn level knows the sawblades are silly.
I love how the doors are placed on the blades' trajectories too. So when you'r outside you may see a ragdoll just fly through the door at high speed and damn this is hilarious to watch.

There should be a map version where the saws move twice as fast, but have health and ammo.

Yes. When I play on sawmill I airblast enemies into the sawblades to appease them so that they won't go after me.

You should try playing basketball using the sawblades. There are hoops above the small doors and if you jump onto the sawblades you can get your bodies into the hoops.

Ah, the golden days, back when TF2 was so much pure, and was a lot more casual, with a lot less competitive. Wish we can have that now, however, all servers are either with hackers, whining people that call a vote to kick when someone is better than them, or we just have the casual sweat and tryhards.

5:02 there is a spot on the saw where you dont get hurt.
Another fun thing or "phenomenon" to watch in TF2 is this: Payload. Just hop onto a server with an "open" PL map, (like Badwater) go into spectate, and use the free-cam to fly up high enough to where nearly the entire map is in your view. You can see the front lines move and where all the big battles happen, it's really fun to watch.

I belive you can edit the saw velocity on the map itself
Their should be a 'custom' map where the blade is invisible but also flipped with the 'actual' sawblade. So the real saw (one that kills you) can't be seen but there would be a false one going in the opposite direction. So you'll wait for blade to pass only to run into another.
