Putting Grand Master Yoda on the bottom
=
Understatement of the year.
It's not about who was most powerful, but who used the force best. Yoda was powerful, but really screwed the pooch by not preventing the rise of the Empire. It makes sense in a way that he's at the bottom, while at the top is Luke who... unscrewed the pooch.
Shrapnel82 he kept the dark side at bay for many centuries he was 900 years old after all meanwhile the emperor was in power 20 years or so
The high ground, Disney sequel trilogy is fucking joke. Shouldn't be taken seriously.
That's exactly what I thought
@The high ground We ignore the woke Disney crap
Its Ki Adi Mundi because he cared about the Droid Attack On the Wookies.
Followed by Obi-Wan, because he knew it was system they could not afford to lose?
@@HalfDemonInuyasha woooosh

But he could have had cover when he was being shot at by clones during order 66 as there was a droid tank next to him
Palpatine takes the cake Canon-wise. Luke wins Legends wise.
Yoda is still a contender in canon
Yoda is more powerful. Sirius has to survive their dual because if he didn’t then well the original trilogy wouldn’t make sense
Could Palpatine beam an image of himself across the galaxy though?
@@robertdullnig3625 it's not about their power in the force, it's how much of an impact they make for their faction. Luke did jack shit for the New Republic.
Robert Dullnig palpatine cold create force storms across the galaxy
I like dooku, but yoda is obviously more powerful over all.
Inquisitor Buccellati Yoda is more powerful than sidious
He got beaten by the person who was less powerful than him?
nothing is more powerful than me
Yeah. Yoda sgows how much stronger he is by using the force to absorb force lightning tyrannus uses against him.
Most effective not most powerful.
Yoda didn’t tell anakin to ignore his fear, he told him to deal with it by facing it, but his selfishness and arrogance drove him to try to take things into his own hands.
Indeed, Yoda tried to relay an important part about the jedi philosophy that death is a natural part of life - but anakin in his grief and fear would not listen.
THE FAT KING that's the thing people dont understand about jedi philosophy it isnt about killing your emotions it's about controlling them and not letting them control you.
Yeah, but that’s the problem. Yoda gave terrible advice. Anakin is told to rejoice the fact that Padme is passing on into the world of the force. He ignored Anakin and basically told him, ‘Don’t be sad that Padme will die, be happy.’ So he burrows his emotions deep down until he finally explodes. Jedi Philosophy destroys a person because it causes someone to reject normal human emotions. This isn’t possible, you can not reject fear, and when you do it will bite you in the back.
Yoda basicly told him "Fuck depression, it's all in your head."
@@Sethq1 Sorry, but this point is always brought up and it’s always wrong. Anakin came with vague, unfocused problems, don’t be shocked when you get vague answers when you do that. Anakin only sort of sought advice. He was completely dishonest with Yoda about it. For all Yoda knew, Anakin was talking about Obi-Wan or any number of comrades in arms, they were in a war after all. Supposing Anakin came to Yoda and confessed his marriage to Padme and fears about her, he probably would have advised he leave the Order and the War Effort to focus on his family as one cannot do both. That part is speculation on my part, but Anakin asked flawed and inadequate questions and expects perfect answers...
Without Palpatine there would be no Empire, so he had the biggest positive impact on his faction.
Lukáš not really the Jedi order already had existed without yoda so someone else would just take up the rank of grandmaster while palpatine created the empire and palpating also controlled the cis as well since dooku just followed his masters plan
@Lukáš Yoda basically just stood by and watched the Republic waste away and then die, all the while spouting millenia old impractical doctrine. No way does he win.
No without yoda there would be a Jedi order without sidious there would be no CIS and without him aswell the republic would be weak af
Dooku created a faction able to match the Republic from thin air. Palpatine abused an already established powerbase. If that is the criteria, Dooku had a much more productive impact on his faction.
And Luke basically destroyed the enemy faction (the empire).
Me cause I have the high ground
GENERAL KENOBI !
General Grievous hello there
Not for long.
"Blast him!"
*At-te fires at kenobi*
General Kenobi!!!! You are a bold one.
Obi-Wan Kenobi no the high ground is a separate entity more powerful than even abeloth you just had a sliver of its power
Of course, Luke also displays a mastery of the most powerful force ability...Plot Armour. Truly a Wondrous ability.
well, if rey was on this list she'd be right at the top by that logic
Luke as grand Master could make force black holes
Дарт Ксенос he meant at the time of return of the Jedi, Luke I agree is the most powerful later but not then
If hat was taken into consideration. Rey would be on this list
Yes but he forgot to were his plot armor when he went to watch the last Jedi
I can accept Yoda not in first or second. But beneath Dooku? C'mon.
Yes, beneath Dooku. Dooku was a charismatic leader who was almost as powerful as Yoda. Yoda had more power in the force, but his leadership skills are almost non-existent. He flat out *sucks* at leadership.
@Fictional Subliminals Which is exactly why Clone Wars is a piece of shit and why anybody would hold it up as an example of good Star Wars is a complete mystery.
cirmothe9 because dooku is a beast and is a wise and a great leader
I could see dooku being a better lightsaber duelist but not a better force user
@@tishaflorence1009 no one is saying dooku is stronger than yoda but that yoda was a shit leader. in other words he was a strong and wise jedi but a poor leader fixated on past traditions in an era of change.
had the jedi been more flexible in their ways, sidious would have never turned anakin nor would he have gotten that much political power.
I still think count dooku is the most interesting out of the bunch.
GENERAL KAEL I believe he's also more powerful than Yoda. Maybe not as powerful as sidious. Yoda has to use both hands and more concentration to block Dooku's lightening. Yoda struggled to duel Dooku. Dooku's force ability and dueling skills put him above Yoda and Luke in this list.
@@dillonfeazel3117 um no yoda toyed with dooku
@@dillonfeazel3117 u have Dooku confused with sidious, Yoda only used one hand to block Dooku's lighting
@@dillonfeazel3117 lol sorry but no. Yoda is clearly much stronger.
@@dillonfeazel3117 sorry but you're wrong m8, Yoda only used one hand to block Dooku's lightning and barely exerted any effort and it's clear in the novelisation that Yoda was overwhelming Dooku with a lightsaber as well, hence why he had to distract Yoda too retreat. Plus if Yoda stalemated Dooku with the force, only lost to bad positioning on the senate pod and beat him in the lightsaber duel. So how can Dooku be more powerful than Yoda and not Sidious when Yoda was just is strong if not stronger than Sidious
Dooku is underrated. He personally taught very notable individuals, such as Greivous, Asajj Ventress, and Savage Opress. He was also capable of overpowering the likes of Anakin and Obi-Wan on two separate occasions, and was able to hold his own against someone as powerful as Yoda. Yet another case of the CIS going under appreciated.
King Naga I love Count Dooku as a character!
I think Dooku was one of the best leaders of any faction in Star Wars. He didn't really have much in the way of ulterior motives, as the CIS needed to function well, and who's to say if he had the chance, he wouldn't have bested the Republic if he had the chance anyway and fulfilled his dream of removing the bloated bureaucracy of the Republic. Not to mention he was a skilled tactician and leader, and was considered for Jedi Battlemaster, meaning he was at the very least one of the best swordsmen of the Order, if not the best, having mastered all of the forms, and he is the ONLY force user we have seen incorporate the force in melee combat, which is shown to be nigh impossible.

Ryan Jets but he still “ruled” the cis if only by proxy
Oml Yoda was Stronger than him
He said 'emperor' palpatine, which means he's taking the palpatine After the republic and cis.
@@raddragon1373 sheev palpatine into emperor palpatine Republic then empire.
I think Palpatine should have had the #1 spot. The points about Luke were good but I really think his attachments were weaknesses as well. Also he was quite careless at times, ignoring promptings from his masters, and I think, the force itself. The fact that Palpatine did all he did and ruled an entire empire really speaks out about his force control. That's just how I feel
I know I'm late on this but if we consider the prequels, Palpatine ruled for quite a long time. Whatever his strategy was for dealing with corruption and cronyism within his empire seemed to have worked quite well.
"Big Papa Palpatine"
it would be good if you did best tactics
Rebels: Hit and Run
Empire: fear and superior rescourses
CIS: sheer numbers and blockades
Republic: Heavily skilled soldiers trained from birth.
Uniwaffle 61 It depends on the battle scenario
Imperial Mapper good point. i guess it depends on attacking/defending. e.g hoth in empire strikes back.
Separatists have the best naval and defensive strategy, I'd say republic has the best assault strategy
also everything you listed is strategy not tactics I believe.
For your next factions episode, you should do "Which Faction had the best Warrior". For example, the Empire would have Darth Vader, the CIS would have General Grievous, the Rebels would have Luke, and the Republic would have Mace Windu.
arguably the rebel warrior is Leia
how so?
"Not the most powerful" is putting it incredibly lightly. He's an amateur compared to any of them. His abilities do not compare.
I believe in one on one combat on neutral ground Yoda beats Sidious. In terms of scale both Yoda and Sidious were able to take out entire armies by themselves, both were masters of battlemeditation and both were cunning strategists when commanding armies. I personally think that Yoda is the greater lightsaber combatant, I mean there are repeated mentions that he is the greatest duelist of the Jedi Order and that he was better than Dooku and Windu, and in the novelization of ROTS he even disarmed Sidious which still makes sense when looking at the movie, and Sidious only won the fight due to positioning.
On a side note I would love to see a Yoda story with him in his prime going all out so we finally get a true impression on Yoda. I know it might take away from the mystique of the character but that`s mostly gone anyways so lets have fun and show OP Yoda being OP.
German Survivalist i doubt yoda’s a better duellist than Palpatine, considering Sidious was a master of every form of lightsaber combat
Josh Murphy Yoda was also a master of every form and in both encounters portrait (the fantasy fight in clone wars and in ROTS) Yoda disarms Sidious. This makes me think he's the better duelist of the two....
There were more than ten thousand jedi in the order, if that large cumulative number couldn't foresee the end there would make no difference who sat as the grandmaster. Yoda was far more competent than *any* other force user before or after.
Anakin was never meant to last, his memories being a slave and the loss of his mother was the ember burning in his mind till it burst and set everything aflame. The only thing that could have changed his faith, would be if the order found him during his infancy, rather than a 9 year old.
Silversurfer I don't think Anakin's fall was inevitable if Palpatine wasn't pulling the strings.
So do we count that against Yoda, or in favor of Palpatine?
We could perceive Palpatine taking advantage of a weak minded boy, or even Yoda for allowing Kenobi to train Anakin by disregarding his age and the fear the entire council could sense. However, Qui-gon jinn may have caused most if not all of the disaster that led to the fall. If he never brought Anakin to the council he would never have been trained. But Qui-gon's teachings had already been imprinted onto Kenobi and would have trained Anakin without the council's approval. who would you blame?
Qui-Gon actually would have been the best teacher for Anakin. Qui-Gon was shown to be someone with a much more open mind and someone who was willing to stretch the Jedi Code without actually breaking it. This would allow him to train Anakin and adapt to him being a nine year old with more emotional development and with attachments rather than if Anakin had been indoctrinated as a baby.
Obi-Wan, however, was someone who, like most other Jedi, was a stickler for the ancient ways of thinking rather than thinking in a more progressive and modern way that allowed any change. This is why, even as an adult, he constantly clashed with Qui-Gon whenever Qui-Gon acted in a way that, in Obi-Wan's and other Jedis' minds, wasn't "fitting" of the traditional Jedi Knight, and that attitude carried over to his relationship with Anakin and that caused them to often clash. According to Obi-Wan in Episode I, Qui-Gon's methods and thinking were really the only thing keeping him from being appointed as a Jedi Council member, despite his skill and experience, because they clashed with the Council's traditionalist thinking.
I think you're using inaccurate terminology. You should be describing these characters as the "best force sensitive leaders" as opposed to "best force users" because it's reasonable to assume that as far as the movies go, Yoda was the most powerful user followed by Sidious, then Dooku, then Luke. Your rankings are based on their leadership skills, not their force abilities which is slightly confusing when your video is titled "Who is the best force user"
And also I think it's worth mentioning that Darth Bane's Rule of Two hinged on the Sith being able to evade the Jedi's perception which they did for most of their existence by maintaining distance from the Jedi and refraining from large displays of power. You can't hold it against the Jedi for not being able to find two Sith in a galaxy of hundreds of trillions, who trained specifically to avoid detection by the Jedi.
Not really the Emperor kicked Yoda's ass so bad he went into hiding.
xavierprotocols ...thats not what happened at all🤦♂️
@@xavierprotocols its explicitly shown in the movie that sidious was trying to run away from Yoda. You could see the look on his face that he was dealing with someone clearly stronger than him
If you take into account the Last Jedi, Luke's flaws lead to Kylo Ren. If you understand that no one is perfect and they all gotta fall, Palpatine/Darth Sidious rules all. He made the biggest difference for the longest stretch over his lifetime (Yoda lived longer, because he's an alien, but he accomplished less with his time than Palpatine did with his). Also Darth Sidious and Yoda basically tied in their battle with each other force power-wise. Sidious is obviously more powerful than Duku. Although Luke never really turned to Sidious he would have died if Darth Vader/Anakin did not save him by killing Sidious. It was not Luke who killed Sidious but Vader/Anakin who was Sidious's apprentice and was expected to someday find a way to murder SIdious (as is the way of the Sith, so Sidious trained his the one who would bring him down - a testimony to his power).
Terry Cupboards Because she has the most plot armour of any star wars character yet. She could probably destroy the death star single handedly, and then people would defend it by saying. " she beat up thugs in the desert so yeah, she can destroy the death star."

correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember reading somewhere that George Lucas said that in Luke's prime (which I guess is probably after the OT anyway) that Luke was the most powerful force user of all time

"If so powerful you are why leave."
Funny how he is the one leaving at the end
Implying I havent read the book? but thats not the point .He wouldnt have said "failed I have" in his grammatical glory if he got his ass kicked enough
I kinda hated the fight and don't think it should have happened... why did Yoda even run? All that showed up were 2 clones and a big blue smurf twi'lek guy... You never get the feeling that Yoda fought him when he talks to Luke. Just do not underestimate the Emperor, or suffer your father's fate, you will. You think Luke would be more likely to not go if Yoda says Underestimated the Emperor I did, failed did I.
I don't think this list really addresses the most powerful force user, it's more like how they used the force.
He isn't doing the most POWERFUL force user, he's doing the BEST force user FOR THEIR FACTION. He openly states that Sidious and Yoda are the two most powerful on this list.
Indeed if it was power alone then this list would be a very simple one.
Everyone forgets about the Sith Shrine that clouded the Jedi during the prequels...

Yoda 4th? He had many flaws, but he was extremely powerful in the force. And Luke is not that powerful. Sure, he doesn’t have political flaws like the rest, but he wasn’t that good of a Jedi. He had the right mindset, but that’s it
Yoda was a great Jedi Consular but he was not what the Republic needed. And it was the flaws in the order that he built that really caused the downfall of both the Republic and the Jedi. Dooku may have been a pawn who was used, however Yoda was the one who actively failed.
George Lucas said that in Luke's prime he was the most powerful force user ever

Legends Luke > Yoda. Disney canon Luke and the sequels are so thin and ill-thought out they might as well not exist for real Star Wars fans.
Are you forgetting the fact legend's luke could literally fight at such speed it looked like he had 1000 lightsabers and use basically every force ability he wanted
But...Luke didn't lead.
The video was about which force users were the best leaders.
Luke never led anything.
So how is he first?
This is about how people lead their faction, right? Luke didn't lead.
And you make the point about how Luke was "everything you would want from a light side user". Then by the same logic, Sidious would be everything you could ever want from a dark side user. He was ambitious, cunning, powerful, and totally evil. On the other hand, Luke ignored Jedi doctrine, gave into his anger at times, and his impulsiveness almost ruined the whole plan in Episode 5.
He said "Luke is everything you want from a force user" not "Luke is everything you would want from a light side user"
Luke didn’t really have as much of an active role in the Rebellion though. Yoda was a high-ranking general. Dooku and Palpatine were heads of state. Luke was a middle ranked officer at best who would come and go whenever personal stuff came up
He was the only force user thats really famous tho
Luke was a general tho, pay attention to beginning of empire strikes back

Well I mean he destroyed the first Death Star which resulted in a massive boost of Morale and membership and helped turn his father back to the light side and as such brought about the death of Sidious indirectly, so yeah I'd say he played quite an active role.
The most powerful force user of all time is George Lucas.
I feel that count dooku was a strong and capable leader
I would swap Yoda and Dooku, while Yoda certainly had a big hand in the fall of the Republic, Dooku was actively working against the Separatists, the ROTS novelization states that Dooku's plan was to surrender to the Republic and frame the Jedi Order for his actions, the Separatists were doomed from the start.

No windu is way below everyone mentioned here. If you read the books you will see why. Windu is still a badass though. My favorite
I think your premise is fundamentally flawed: if we are taking Luke at his best (before he could go on to become the mess he was in VII), then we should take Palpatine at the end of ep III, his finest hour, rather than after 20 years of incrementally trickier management of the empire.
Lilin agreed
He wasn't taking Luke at his best. He made that clear.
That's an assertion he made, clearly somewhat in clash with what we see in canon. The point his that he said that Palps started out great and became sloppy in his last days, but didn't analyse the same arc with Luke and just looked at his successes, so the comparison isn't really fair :)
You bring up the mess Luke was in VII, but apparently you forgot that this list was Legends only. Luke goes on to become the most powerful Jedi of all time in Legends, with some truly impressive feats to his name. So while Palpatine slowly worsened the Empire, Luke only continued to strengthen the Rebellion-turned-New Republic over time in Legends.
Legends still includes canon though, as shown in the video, otherwise the stuff displayed in the movies shouldn't count... I suppose our definitions of Legends differ hence my confusion.
7:45, Luke’s victory was not just due to his use of anger and hatred, but also due to Vader’s inner conflict between being able to care for Luke as his son enough to forsake his addiction to the dark side, which had only been strengthened by his need to suppress his guilt and shame of his past life. He was adamant either way to make sure that he did not have to kill his son, but first attempted to satisfy his dark side urges to continue the Sith cycle of destroying the master with an apprentice and being focused on ruling the galaxy. Once Luke’s life was in immediate danger, he reacted by saving him from Palpatine.
Hey, EckhartsLadder.
I just came up with a "Which is the best" topic you should do, and it was inspired by this one you did. You should do one on the 3 Jedi Classes. The 3 Jedi classes are Jedi Guardian, Jedi Consular, Jedi Sentinel. And you could discuss what you think the best is out of the 3 classes.
Love the list, but in my opinion I think Yoda and Dooku need to be switched. At least Yoda wasn't just a pawn in a bigger leaders game like dooku was
marioguy640 Yoda was also a pawn in another leaders big game... the same one as Dooku in fact, lol. He and the jedi order served "Chancellor Palpatine" and the "Senate of the Republic"... the only difference between Yoda and Dooku in that regard is that Dooku knew he was a pawn, he just didn't know the end game... Yoda knew neither😂
This video is misleading as hell. The title of this video should be something like "Which star wars faction has the force user with the best character traits." The title ask Who is the better FORCE USER!!! It wouldn't have been that bad but you let their traits dictate their position in your ranking...
It's more like which force user is the best faction leader. but yeah Eckhart isn't known for his articulations
I have an idea for a factions compared: Which faction is most unrealistic?
Like, what are the odds (using established in-universe logic) that the Rebels actually succeed? But at the same time, what are the odds that the Empire ever is founded? That the Republic lasts as long as it did? That the CIS is manipulated (or sub that one out for the First Order)? This isn't a simple "plot armor" comparison, since the rebels would win by a mile, but logically, how realistic is each faction's actions and...well, in some cases, existence?
ImperialFish i second this
I think that The Empire are the most unrealistic, why would everyone join the cause of an ugly guy who wan'ts to rule the galaxy.
I just can agree with luke coming over sidious... he single handedly took down the jedi order at the peak of there power and ruled with an iron fist. Only reason he even died is because he was blinded by rage and forgot about Vader. Luke is the hero but u just can't touch sidious when it comes to force users and politics!

I honestly can not understand how Vader is considered to have returned to the light side. He performed one good deed for completely selfish reasons. If it had been anyone other than his own son being electrifried, he wouldn't have lifted a finger against Palpatine. That one good deed for selfish reasons can not redeem him from the thousands of of people he personally murdered; men, women and children and he reveled in his own malice and cruelty. In spite of his reappearance as a force ghost I don't consider Vader to be redeemed or returned to the light side and I'm not even convinced that was his intention when killing Palpatine, as I said it was a self-centred act to save his own son.
Not Dave hello fellow Dave, I think its because he began to experience love again and it made him feel all fuzzy inside

There is no such thing as a Jedi who doesn’t shackle himself. They are unfeeling fools. The scourge of the galaxy, pawns of a corrupt Republic. And that fool Sidious could hardly run without his precious force. He was as bad a leader as he was an athlete. My master Dooku, however, was a noble man, representing everything a warrior should be. He was not a coward, nor was he as full of himself as Sidious and Yoda. He used his emotions to fuel himself, yet kept a calm demeanour. He offered wise council in how to adapt to my new life, and was generous to my people, saving them from the poverty the Jedi forced on them.
General Grievous both sides of the force are shackled. The light side needs immense concentration And as the video said, refuse to acknowledge fear and other emotions. The dark side is heavily negative to the brain and body, and they are so evil as only used negative emotions. Using a combination of both would remove the flaws of both sides.
Dooku is my favorite force user.
he actively helped kill your wife and destroy you. also he kept on doing changes to your brain.
SATmaster728 Scholly The Sith embrace nature, using their emotions both positive and negative to free themselves. The very Sith code says as much.

this wasn't really a look at the force, more of looking at pros and cons in their factions.
Yoda in last? Yeah, no. Jedi doctrine is far from perfect, but they aren't THAT bad. Honestly I'm sick of hearing the unfair criticism people give them.
Yeah, they only created Darth Vader while allowing their mortal enemy to destroy almost all of them along with the democratic government that had existed for thousands of years.
Oh yeah. The Jedi definitely created Darth Vader. Sidious definitely didn't have a hand in that, manipulating things, making him responsible for 90% of it. Just go ahead and ignore all the profound wisdom Yoda has because the Jedi ended up failing, and while you're at it, drag him down by blaming him for the whole thing instead of the system. Sounds fair to me.
Zalty they literally took babies from their parents
Sigh... *Takes out flash card and reads in a monotone voice.* Yes the Jedi took children. No it was not kidnapping. This was an institutionalized system backed by the Republic and done with the parents' consent. If this was not done there is no telling what kind of damage an untrained child strong in the Force could do later in life, let alone hundreds of them throughout the whole galaxy. Yes, everybody is aware it looks sketchy. No, you are not the only person to think that. No, this is not the first time I have encountered this argument. Please actually consider things in detail before tossing out criticisms that justify your viewpoint.
Zalty it was not always done with the parents consent, yes most were but the Jedi did kidnap so,e kids
I feel like one of the few people who actually REALLY likes the Confederacy
Rad Reece
Yes. All hail the Empire!

A Jedi Temple Guard VS. A Praetorian Guard.
temple gaurd
Temple Guard we haven't seen the full potential of the Praetorian guard so it's too early to tell

I really can't understand why you would think that the legends numbers of the laser canons are stupendously OP and shouldn't be used (and they shouldn't because it's ridiculous), but that Palpatine's force-storm can be used. It's more over the top than the "my laser canon fires mini nukes", especially since it actually is able to actually heavily damage and destroy capitol ships in one go compared to the hundreds of shots that the lasers need.
From best to worst:
Yoda, because the fact that Sidious rose to power wasn't his fault alone. Yoda is around 900 years old when he dies and has trained Jedi for 800. That's a long time of peace and prosperity. But even as a force user when you have to look through the dark side of the force on a GALACTIC SCALE and try to find 2 Sith between millions of planets and billions upon billions of people it becomes nigh impossible. Also keep in mind that the force tries to find balance, like we see in the latest movies where the force even just dumps power on someone to balance out the dark side. Now imagine that in reverse: the entire Jedi order balanced out vs 2 Sith. The fact that Yoda kept peace for so long and even held his own somewhat during his confrontation with Sidious is a testament to how good he really was.
Vader, he might start out as a whiny little crap but by the end of his life he's accomplished a great deal, such as hunting down Jedi and betraying his master (which he has been working towards since very early, there's a ton of questionable things he does unless you realize that he's actually intending to harm the Emperors plans). On an individual level, Vader could arguably beat Yoda, but Yoda has some more years of duty behind him and less faction-switching.
Palpatine. Yes he toppled the previous republic, but the groundwork for this was a thousand year planning by other Sith. Once in power Palpatine did create a ruthless state but he was unable to stop the Rebel alliance, in fact he fosters so much hate and animosity that the Rebel Alliance is formed in the first place. He also focuses his attention to arguably wasteful projects, like the Death Star. They could have doubled or tripled the Star Destroyer fleet for the same cost, or build weapons that wipe the planet's surface clean instead of obliterating livingspace. Palpatine is arguably incompetent, his only reason for gaining power and staying in power being his immense force strength rather than his political prowess.
Luke. What does he actually do in all of the canon? He destroys the first Death Star, sure, but he does that with a single force-shot, rather than some extreme competence in the force. He ignores Yoda's advice, he brings himself and his friends repeatedly in danger by his actions, he misjudges people like Jaba, despite saying he's a Jedi Master he get his hand shot on Jaba's barge... The only big thing that Luke really manages to pull off after the Death Star is convincing his father to come back to the light. He has no hand in the destruction for the second Death Star (although for some reason many people state that he does).
Paul Verbeek if people are going to criticize Yoda not being able 2 sith we should be able to do the same with the Sith not being able to fi d Yoda and obi one after being able to kill so many other jedi. Not to mention Yoda and when Luke gets older they are able to except their failures and learn from them, Yoda explains this in tlj.
Im going to go with Darth Vader even though he wasn't an option. We never saw his full potential in my opinion. He died very young compared to everyone else on this list and he was more powerful than was Dooku for sure. Vader was also deemed the chosen one.
i kind of liked the other ones more but I see what you mean.
If the Emperor and Vader got in to it (say cause Vader found out how the Emperor lied to him all this time) and the safety valves blew off Vader's temper Palpatine wouldn't have stood an ice cube's chance a chance hell (and he knew it).
1. Palpatine
2. Luke
3. Yoda
4. Dooku
Cheshigrievous haha no Luke is way better than palpatine
Actually I highly doubt it. In Legends Palpatine ist just too powerful, Luke is not a match, maybe TLJ Luke, but definitely not ROTJ Luke. Even in canon Palpatine is way stronger, more experienced and better trained than Luke. The only way Palp was killed at all was by treachery while being high from the dark side. No doubt Palpatine has his weaknesses, especially arrogance, but he is still much stronger than Luke.
Rakete_gaming alright maby true but I just like Luke and if he kept his lightsabers Luke could beat palpatine by himself and tlj Luke is powerful but I just think Rotj Luke is way more powerful and grand master luke is way more powerful
skelotron 768 Palpatine would not even have to use his lightsaber, and if he did then he would demolish Luke.
SilentSplashGaming alright I see your point but this is just my opinion and I respect your opinion and if he did use his lightsaber Luke would be dead
in the description it says "we examine the Force Users of the Republic, Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance and Galactic Republic.
....So there's two different types of the republic
I love this series, but you give too much deference to the Rebel Alliance. There's no way Luke beats out Palpatine; he never really used the Force to uplift the Rebellion as a whole, and he never really had much of a leadership, or even symbolic role, within the Rebel Alliance.
I always thought Anakin Skywalker was the most powerful of the Jedi during the clone wars. I mean the guy never lost a campaign or a battle in clone wars
ESPN Journalist yoda and windu were clearly above him, obi wan could rival and even defeated him
ESPN Journalist Palpatine always sent him to battles that Anakin would win in order to make him a Republic war hero as Palpatine intended for Anakin to become his heir
Elliott Knifton more like his pupet
Zachary Housni before Anakin got burned Palpatine knew that he would become stronger than him and kill him as when he fought Yoda he said "Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us"
Elliott Knifton except palpatine objective was To become some sort of immortal darkside incarnation
Dooku for the win. No one can beat Christopher lee!
Except for, you know, age.
Which faction had the most polite etiquette/protocol droids?
High Templar(Starcraft) vs Jedi/Sith
Raynor's Raiders(Starcraft) vs Resistance
Terran Dominion(Starcraft) vs Galactic Republic/New Republic
Protoss(Starcraft) vs Covenant
Zerg (Starcraft) vs Empire
Protoss(Starcraft) vs CIS
United Koprulu Sector(Starcraft) vs United Star Wars Galaxy
62nd try. I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!
My thoughts on your comment.
High templar would probably be a bit stronger than jedi and maybe even the sith because of his powers to wipe out armys in secs.
Raynor's Raiders wins over Resistance since Raynor won against the Dominion which is way beyond anything in starwars. Srly, Just the Zerg alone would take over the starwars galaxy.
Is this a Joke? Terran Dominion greatly overpowers anything the Republic can do. Have you seen those Space Marines in their armor and big guns? or Ghost and their nukes?
I say Covenant has an edge against the protoss since they lose their home world and it's race is declining but that can go either way.
Zero Human Protoss vs covenant, each at the height of their power
Protoss have spear of adun, the entire golden armada, which was the biggest fleet ever assembled and had several motherships, each of which had thousands of soldiers on board and could wipe out entire fleets with black holes and destroy entire cities with a single shot, purifier project/cybros station(purifier beam), greater technological feats(creating black holes, manipulation of spacetime, etc.)
Covenant probably has more ships, but superweapons and superior tech make it an easy win for protoss
Also, I think republic has a chance vs dominion, based on what we see in Starcraft, the dominion has more powerful ships but a smaller fleet than the republic
Anti capital ship starfighters like Vikings might make up for it tho
Just because raynor's raiders beat the dominion doesn't mean they win outright
The resistance did destroy Starkiller base(probably plot armor, but it still happened) and both sides have similar amounts of capital ships
Other than that, I agree with your analysis
well I'll give it 50/50. The covenant out numbers the protoss by far so they can invade and take over planets. The protoss are unable to invade and take over planets like the covenant can. They have limited manpower so the protoss would have to fight that war defensively. While a single protoss warrior would be able to probably take on multiple covenant since protoss warriors are better than Elites/Brutes but however can be overwhelmed by the Covenant's forces numbers. Mainly the Protoss would have to use defensive tactics in the ground battles and hit and run with their space fleet since Protoss space fleet is more advance and able to hit them hard and fast and run. The Covanant's fleets out numbers them so they can overwhelm them and drop their forces in large numbers on planets. Tho I do suspect the protoss having better commanders and leaders than the covanant's forces which can plan great tactics against the Covanant. it can go either way 50/50.
I have an idea. Military Leaders compared (General Grievous, Grand Moff Tarkin, Captain Rex, Admiral Ackbar)
Birbddha Could you have used someone else other than Rex? I mean, he is just a Captain in the end after all his amazing tactical abilities. Cody would have been a better pick because he is an actual strategist. He also could actually be compared to the others you stated, because he isn't completely out ranked by them. Still, the best pick for the Republic should be Obi-Wan.
Birbddha nope thrawn should take tarkins place tarkin sucks
#KrennicyousuckImgonnatakecontrolofthedeathstarfromyoulikeItotallydidnthavecontrolofitinthefirstplace
Birbddha Tarkin was more of a politician than a tactician he was working with expanding the imperial militairy in the Outer Rim
Ok, fine. (General Grievous, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Commander Cody, Admiral Ackbar.) That better?
Yeah I wish more of the Jedi were like Luke in the prequals. His order in Legends really connected with the galaxy and his disciples had a more open view on life in general.
Obiwan!
who has the best millitairy commanders?
Of course the republic.
1: CIS
2: The Galactic Empire
3: The Republic
4: The Rebel Alliance
Commander Cody i would like to see a comparison with and without jedi. the best comparison in my opinion would be yularen vs trench/grievous/kalani vs akbar and a pretty well known empire admiral/general/moff (can't think of one that would be equally matched)
Olrik Eijffius Actually most of the Jedi were bad tacticians
And also Moffs aren't tacticians they are creating defence forces and expanding the militairy of the Empire and they are commanding planets
But I don't think we have that much knowledge of Yularen to know his tactics
Clash Gamer i couldn't think of any good republic commander exept for yularen and some of the jedi had so mutch plot armor that there tactics allways worked for instance anakin vs trench he shouldn't have won that trench was mutch more experienced and he even knew how to destroy invisible ships but anakin with the power of plot armor barely got away and destroyed trench with one terrible tactic
Agreed, Yoda was probably the most adept, but is definitely not the best.
At least Rey wasnt one of the choices.
Shogun thank the force
Which faction has the BEST SNIPER RIFLES?
That one droid in Clone Wars (2003).
Dooku ahead of Yoda is a joke sorry but no way is Dooku better. Yoda also used Kenobi to raise and set up the empire's fall
Wtf yoda would win easy against luke or dooku
True
Galactic war flood vs Protoss, I think that would be very interesting, specially if the flood could use the other factions in Starcraft 2
I actually think that Mace Windu was more powerfull than Yoda, not in terms of connection to the force but more like in beeing a yedi in generall. Simply cause of the fact that he accepted the dark side and studied it, wich is why his sword is purple, also i think that he may have had not the same opinion on some things, like connection to other people, that Yoda had or the most other Yedi, that he just was more fitting into the time with his acceptance of the dark side.
1. Palpatine
2. Yoda
3. Luke
4. Dooku
Dooko is the best with a light sabers, but that's about all. Luke has amazing control over his powers however his powers are also weaker. Then comes Yoda and Palpatine they are both equally powerful in the force and in leading a faction, Yoda peacefully, and Palpatine brute fully. So I would rank it like this. Palpatine and Yoda are tied for first, then Luke is right behind them, and Dooko is... well let's not hate on him too much I mean to be fair he was probably in the top 3 if not number one light Saber weirder in the galaxy.
1. Yoda+Palpatine
2. Luke (right behind them)
2. Dooko
6:52 "He allowed himself to BE manipulated ... and eventually BEheaded." haha!
I have never been able to find an answer on this, are Senator Bail Antilles, Captain Raymus Antilles and Wedge Antilles related or is it just a common name?
I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence.
Nick Ferguson It it a coincidence. The Organa family of Alderaan is not related to either of them.
Call for papa palpatine!
#CantCleaveTheSheev
A Wild Master Chief Appears
But you *can* drop him down an elevator shaft.
You have a call from *breathing* Darth Vader. "Vader! How's my favourite Sith? ... Wait what do you mean they BLEW UP the death star? ... What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?
* Go for papa palpatine
With this new trilogy I have trouble watching The Return of the Jedi. Knowing what the official Canon has done to his character.
Terry Cupboards funny how we never see any of that except for brief anecdotal flashbacks. He spent the majority of his screen time being a cantankerous sniveling coward. Instead of having a good sequence react she trains Rey. And then when he saves the day he doesn't even bother to show up. He just sent a projection and doesn't matter no because he dies anyway so why not show up in person? I don't care what happened off screen. There used to be a time when characters actually had to be developed over the course of the actual movie. I never said they ruined his character, but they did tarnish his Legacy.
+Terry Cupboards, Mark Hammel and George Lucas both have said blatanly that this new luke is not the one they had planned and was very different and "off".
Thyre Radim I agree Mark Hamill and George Lucas are blameless in this. If you look at Mark Hamill during the interviews for both the force awakens and The Last Jedi he looks like he feels dirty. I thoroughly dislike how the studio has treated the Old Guard. Oh well I guess Mark Hamill can still have the credit of being the best Joker. No Studio can take that away from him.
You should include the first order in some of your videos
I have an idea for faction compared. The best pilots. Which faction has the most skilled and well-trained pilots for their ships(x-wings,tie fighters, republic ships, etc.) but I think it would be hard for the separatist.
Rebel Alliance, Republic, Empire, CIS. ;)
Thyre Radim yea now that I think about it this was easier than I thought it would be.
1)imperials 2)Republic 3)Separatists 4)rebels
+Gray Agent, your so dumb XD or just a fanboy, like have you never seen an imp pilot?? most rebels had literally no flight experience meaning that imps suck so bad that they lose to untrained pilots who are just naturally better. (it almost seems like the empire only accepts the worst of the worst, as in the worst shots and the worst pilots and the worst officers literally ever.)
Thyre Radim Man your so stupid XD. You need to read the comics and lore about the imperials. Please don't talk about star wars with the knowledge you have. I bet you never watched the movie's and went with the bandwagon and if you did, the movies don't give the full details. The main reason why the tie pilots die is because they're in the tie fighters. It has no shields and hyper drive, it was made to be cheap and fast so it can be deployed in mass numbers since that's the navy's strategy. Please read the comics so your small knowledge about star wars can be expanded idiot. 😑
I’ve said it before-about 5 times-and I’ll say it again
Best officer corps
Or maybe best military commanders
Jay so rex/Cody/etc Vs agent kallus(I know rebels is bad but we don't see many ground leaders) maybe Tarkin, etc , Han etc that sorta thing?
I was thinking more Ackbar, Thrawn, Yularen (Republic), etc.
Do Ronin from Titanfall 2 vs Mantis from Halo (4th try)
Any Titan > Mantis
Ronin would obliterate the Mantis. It's faster, more mobile, and has a massive god damn sword. let's say he gets the rockets to track, he can phase shift outta there
Love both series, Ronin wins.
I would say
1 yoda
2 sidious
3 tyranus
4 luke
Richard Mc Enteggart explain this
High ground beats all
Dooku is form 2 practitioner which relies on efficiency ,but is devoid of impact force, and on the other hand Palpatine has mastered all 7 forms of lightsaber combat, although not to the extent as Dooku has ,but sufficiently to switch to the superior form which would in this case be Form 5 or 7 and easily defeat him like Anakin has in ROTS . I believe Dooku's mastery of the Makashi is comparable with Yoda's mastery of Ataru but Yoda's speed is unmatched by anybody even by Palpatine. So with that in mind I would place Yoda first closely followed by Palpatine number 3 would be Dooku and then Luke. One could argue that in closed space, Yoda would be on the back foot, but the matchup is taking place on an open field. I think that Dooku was merely caught off guard, and surprised by the power of Anakin's mechanical hand. If he did not cut off Anakin's hand, he would be able to escape. To summarize there are no circumstances under which Dooku comes on top.
I would say
lol
How is this even a contest?
The best one is Darth Jar Jar XD
Best dreadnaught (cannon)
DHG Chill Leader Arthur he would have to use the providence again
There are two types for the Providence one is considered a dreadnaught.
Like the video, but totally disagree
Dude the rebels always win because you judge them in different ways for example a star destroyer could destroy a mon calamari not home one and the star destroyer is a better troop transport but they still don’t win. And Luke’s power is nothing to Palpy he made the greatest impact
Here’s a suggestion
Venator class star destroyer vs the unsc Epoch class heavy carrier
*Stormtrooper vs Stormtrooper*
Cadian stormtroopers (40k) vs The Empire's stormtrooper (StarWars)
both are humans with laser based guns. (no over powered space marine shenanigans, so it seems fair)
I can't really say she was on a side, but, Abeloth was stronger than all of them, And Darth Krayt is good enough to be in the conversation
Gups a comparison between four versions of the Sith Order and their leaders? Brotherhood of the Sith (Exar Kun); Brotherhood of Darkness (Skere Kanan); Rule of Two (Darth Bane); Rule of One (Darth Krayt)
I SO disagree. 1. yoda 2. palpatine 3. luke 4. count dooku
Yoda lost to Palpatine, he also lead the downfall of the jedi and the government which allow palpatine to take control. >_> He is strong with the force but failed because of his massive flaws.
Ender Walton GG
Zero Human but... palpatine had an advantage HE WAS THE SENATE
and Obi had the high ground. : P
Zero Human and these flaws are????
Which Star Wars Faction has the BEST SCOUT Vehicles? Like AT-ST & AT-RT.
did the rebels even have one? same with sepys cuase that tank wouldnt really count since its a tank
The CIS has the STAP.
oh yeah
Eh boy yoda is God learn to respect your elders boooyyy
I think that Palpatine didn't actually positively influence the republic or empire, and in his hubris he set up the empire to self-inpload upon his death.
Comics overrate palpatine soooo much. Yoda vs Palpatine and Palps couldn’t do shit to him in that battle.
Yoda did no better tho
Yoda, Luke, Count Dooku, Big Papa Palpatine. That got a laugh out of me
I like how all 4 of these people were trained by each other. Palpating trained Dooku yoda trained luke
Yoda also trained dooku, probably more than sidous did.
yoda trained dooku as a jedi. he was his padawan.
I think you judge a little bit unfair. You judge all three others from their end and result, but not Luke. Is that fair? He failed after his great hour both in legends and canon in huge way (in legends he for at least some time joined the Dark Side, in canon, well, we know now).
Marc Bartuschka well given the Disney stuff was written by someone who doesn’t even understand how humans react
Well, I am not SO sure. I mean at least thinking about killing someone because he is "touced by the Dark Side" without any mercy IS a typical Jedi-thing. Great Jedi did not only THINK about it, they DID (or at least tried) it. The Jedi-masters came to kill Palpy short before Any flipped sides, not to arrest him. The Republic and the Jedi commited genocide after the Great Hyperspace War against the species of the Sith - including unarmed men, women and children (and maybe against other species too) of the Sith-Empire, a crime which happens on more than just one world, I guess. And that happened although there was no real threat at this point. So maybe Luke was at that moment too much influenced by the Jedi-doctrine. That he saw the "good" in Vader before Endor does not mean he is forever immune for this fear/hatred/extermination-thing of so many "light side users" against the "evil". It was a HUGE (and by far not enough explained) character-jump. But nothing I could never imagine for a jedi, even a jedi like Luke.
But as I said, the legends-Luke had more than one "flirt" with the dark side, too.
Marc Bartuschka I meant the entire plot, meaning collapse of the New Republic, I mean Rian Johnson clearly hasn’t heard of 911, Pearl Harbour or the London Blitz...
Ok, THAT I agree to 100 percent. I was ever a Empire-fan, but even I could not imagine that the Republic could fall SO easy. This make zero sense, even even less since Starkiller Base was destroyed so the FO could not destroy more planets (if they still had this weapon, things would look a little bit different since maybe enough systems would just be afraid to be nuked, too).
On the other hand of course countries/nations sometimes DID collaps under one short merciless strike quickly (France 1940, for example). It is always a question of the circumstances. As I said, I think it was written more than poorly, but it is not without ANY example for similar quick downfalls.
Since there are 30000+ signatures to remove TLJ from the Canon storyline, I think we can disregard anything out of TLJ.
Lol, the Empire is never gonna get number 1
The Emporer sucks DARTH REVAN is da man everyone else sucks compair to him
you angry peper shaker
Lol revan is one of the best
I feel like I'm the only one who thinks Yoda is the most overrated character of all time.
SongBird *gets ranked last* YODA IS OVERRATED!
This list is about force users within the star wars universe, whereas I'm talking about his entire philosophy and character design. His biggest contribution to the world is his "do or do not" quote and even that is complete garbage. It completely undermines the value of trying.
SongBird well its correct though and it helped luke. If he just skipped Dagobah and never met Yoda the entire timeline would be changed and he would never had bet Vader and it would take an extra 10-15 years to beat the Empire.
That's not what I'm talking about. Yoda is the creation of someone from our world and is supposed to be the embodiment of wisdom where in reality, his advice couldn't be further from wise. Hes probably the most boring shallow character in the whole franchise which says a lot.
Where is Darth Jar Jar?!?!?!?!?
