This movie was out on Blu-Ray since 2018 in the UK. And now, US viewers can now readily have Stuart Gordon's sci-fi comedy adventure on HD home video. Good things DO come to those who wait.
@@matthewh7085 Maybe the lower resolution on my VHS tape is hiding a lot, but for me the digital effects were decent and practical effects were top tier. Some fairly large and impressive sets were present and the bioweapon costumes on small, lithe contortionists made for some visually impressive monsters, as were the memorable "square pigs" . Practical effects and makeup were done by Optic Nerve, who were a top 5 special effects studio in the mid 90's, probably being best known for the alien designs on Babylon 5. At that time period they might have gotten better results using miniatures and composting instead of pure CGI for the space scene, but it wasn't BAD CGI. The IMDB page shows a big production crew, 80 people on sets and art department, 50 on digital FX, 18 people doing wardrobe, original score by the Munich Symphony Orchestra... looks like it was planned to be a moderate size theatrical release but somehow, it stumbled before hitting the theaters and went direct to video in the last stretch.
This movie is super fun and looks like there are some similarities in the beginning sequences like cowboy bebop. The one think i hate is the screaming square hogs imprisoned in tiny cages lol
I liked the square hogs. Very dystopian. Did you know that the industrial domestic turkey is so grotesquely overbred that they can barely reproduce. It takes an army of turkey semen collection specialists to keep America supplies with Thanksgiving dinner. Imagine what we'd do if genetic engineering became affordable enough for the pork industry😰

I just wanted to say I don’t know what you might be going through Or what situation you’re in right now but I no god is there for you and he loves you God bless everyone who came across this🇧🇸
The Lord bless you also, Sharel! Sis, have you read Acts 2:38? It matches Luke 24:47 and John 3:4-7. This is the new birth! I hope you will read these verses and pray for help to understand and obey them. :)
Best movie to randomly watch at 3 am
That’s what I did too.

This movie is a fever dream
I want to see a modern Space Truckers movie. Something fun like Cowboy Bebop and Guardians of Galaxy style.
I still love this movie!
How did this movie cost 25 million dollars to make?
Lol I just read that on wikipedia. Special effects were horrid, even by 1996 standards.
Marketing costs a lot

OMg Debi Mazar was my crush back in the day, she was so sexy, love this movie 💖💖🤩💖💖
I think I know what inspired the "Cowboy Bebop" episode 2 years later.
They didn't warn us about the square pigs.

Well, we had a lot of luck on Venus
We always had a ball on Mars
We're meeting all the groovy people
We've rocked the Milky Way so far...
Come on! Come on! Come on! Let's go Space Truckin'!
seem like they took this movie turn it into a game
Is that the voice of Optimus prime narrating?
Yes

@@joshblahnamehere2308 no. Peter Cullen voiced Optimus; Dan LaFontaine did the voiceover for trailers.

Praying for the souls of those in this film? Because they all had excellent careers, well most of them anyway

God is dead.
Almost as bad/good as R.O.t.o.r
R.O.T.O.R. didn't have the screen magnetism of Dennis Hopper.
