Gurutruecrimeguru ok you've sorta mastered a successful way of making money. I have a proposal if there's a way I can do what u do with out having to start out paying for programs apps sites ext. If u walk me through a method and get me set up where I can do it I'll give u half of all profits that are made. Because it's worth every dime to learn from u scince it's tried and proven. @@prod.faithchi4272 if you researched and found a good way to market/advertise POD products you combine with Public Domain art, then yes you could absolutely use Shopify to open a store and sell them in. With Shopify, as long as the products you are selling in are legal, then there aren't restrictions, unlike RedBubble which can set their own restrictions.

As a photographer and graphic designer, I have to admit that I was seeing red at the title here until I watched the first half of the video.

I use some public domain material (old shows for UA-cam and I've rewritten some old PD stories and published on Amazon) and I can tell you you give free information that some charges a lot of money for. I hope people are aware of this and are appreciative. I just learned about some sites I didn't know about. By the way, I was hoping to see one of your dances. :-)

Hi. Loved this video. Very informative. Can you please make or direct me to a video you've made about How to use old famous cartoon images, classic and not so popular. Without a copyright infringement or having to buy an expensive license to use the characters. Also, which site won't give you a problem when their algorithm See's the images or characters. I'd like to offer products and possibly build a website to sell them...and control the market. Maybe use POD sites. Maybe. 😊 Thanks. Blessings-Don
It's impossible to use famous cartoon characters without permission. However, RedBubble does have a free fan art program that you can apply for that will let you draw famous characters & sell your fanart: www.redbubble.com/partner-program
Hey Sarah, could you make a video about "receiving licenses" for copyrighted products. How much it costs, do we need a lawyer, etc. I'm not sure if you have any experience with that sort of thing, but it could be an interesting idea for the video.
It's pretty much impossible to just get a license like that. Brands like Disney negotiate only with other large companies & it's all done through direct negotiation & licensing deals. There is one exception though. RedBubble does have a free fan art program that you can apply for that will let you draw famous characters & sell your fanart: www.redbubble.com/partner-program

In an earlier video, a dog with coffee picture you bought on Shutterstock (I think) couldn't be used on products sold Etsy because you or your "team" didn't create it, but famous works of art are okay? Is it because of the changes you made to it? If yes, does that mean the purchased picture could have been used if you had also made changes to it? I'm so confused as to what Etsy considers "original."

Do images from the MET collection need to be at least 100 years old in order to be legally printed onto Redbubble items (public domain)?

I just started a t-shirt business for sublimation... Looking for pictures that are free was TOUGH!!! I'm no artist and using Photoshop to create art takes a long time and I'm no Photoshop scholar!! Hi Harrison. No, you don't need to register as a sole trader. Most countries do not require sole traders register - that's the point of being a sole trader, your business is you, it isn't another entity that requires registering :) you'll still have to pay taxes at the end of the year though on any profit, but you pay them as personal income taxes.

Also keep in mind, laws around things like this drastically change based on what country you live and most advice online is for people living in America or European countries. That’s what I found too. Do you remember advising IRD of your income which I assume was over 60,000 in reference to GST? Maybe your fine accountants did that or it’s not necessary. Fair enough I’ll take your word for it, don’t stress, all faults shall be my own. Thanks again!
