I watched this video during my winter semester break its not been a year and I've put in a lot of work but inconsistently, I use ETSY and slowly but surely, I've gained sales most recently I made enough PROFIT** to cover some of my basic bills. I am now buckling down to seriously commit my time because I know now the possibilities this holds. Thank you for your vids seriously made all the difference. And to anyone thinking about diving in , do it, you might fumble, it might take time, but if you do not quit and chip away at it, you will see progress.

It's easy to see how you've become so successful. Your thoughtfulness and consideration to provide value and satisfaction for your customers, or in this case viewers, is something that many others miss. It really shows that you work towards creating valuable content rather than just lazily recreating the same basic "tips and advice" that every other UA-camr posts. The focus on quantity over quality and rinse and repeat methods to making money online seems to be the trend nowadays. You are a refreshing and helpful change of pace, and for that I sincerely thank you.

Everything she says, yes, yes, yes. I started my print on demand shop a year ago...i started making sales last month. Word to the wise its a lot of trial and error. I made the mistake of choosing a print provider on printify that was out of the UK, as a result, my first tshirt sale which was ordered on sept 17th may not arrive until nov 1st...lesson learned and its my most popular shirt as far as views. I had to remake the entire thing with a new print provider in the US. Im super upset about it. 🙁That print provider also doesnt give you tracking details. Make sure when you are choosing the print provider you pay attention. Wish i would have seen this video six months ago lol i could have saved myself a headache.

@@jamesbullo thankyou 🙂 there were plenty of times I wanted to give up but instead of quiting I would take breaks from it. Doing little things here and there. I asked myself what could I do better? As sad as it was, I used all the stressers in my life to channel my energy into my shop. So I joined a free webinar, I watched videos, and got on an ecommerce forum and asked for feedback. Their advice was pretty much what Sarah is saying plus a few more tidbits. I still havent turned a profit yet. The sales that I have got went toward fees, subscriptions, shipping, and product. Not to mention, I will probably issue a refund to the customer that bought the shirt. 😒 I'll just keep fixing things till I get it right✌ goodluck to everyone!

I believe your telling us everything here. Three questions: I see the pillow for $7.35. Is that just for the pillow? I don't think that includes the printing cost does it? I'm pretty sure that will be an extra cost...thats what I've learned about the t-shirts so far. Third question: Let us say the printing was $2.65 and the pillow was $7.35 (that's an even $10.00) I'm selling the pillow for $14.95. Now....Am I going to have to process an order to printify after I deduct my profit of $4.95 or does the order go to them and they send to my bank account or paypay my $4.95? And if that's the case, (bonus question) what stops them from just keeping all the money? Love your video Sarah. Been with you for a year or so now...Im ready to move on this. I feel like I already owe you money for all the great advice Ive gotten from you. Thank you ever so much for all your help.

More great tips. Thanks, Sarah. Also, I have to admit getting offended when I first created one of my online stores and an online stranger told me that my designs were not good. I was crushed, to be honest. And I verbally defended myself and wondered why that person was being so "mean." But....later on, I got ahold of a lot better painter and animation programs and designed a whole lot better stuff. These designs made my past designs look like crap. That's when I realized that I had been in the stone ages. Not that my designs are anything wonderful now, but they are a lot better than they used to be, and I am so happy for that. I hate to admit it, but I should be thanking that person for their honest advice. So...whomever you are...thanks!

It’s understood that most businesses fail or even begin due to lack of commitment. I get stuck in a rut with the colour options, I can't help myself, I know my wife loves Purple, and my eldest daughter a mint green is her go-to colour, I know & I love Red tees before I know it there's a selection of 10 colours before me... I have to make that conscious effort to get out of that trap, As I go through the colours if it looks good I give it as an option, again, this can be lots of colours. Then I'm battling on which ones to take away. I get the Paralysis by Analysis thing but I want to be able to provide my customer with their fav colour instead of the stable blacks, greys. navy blue top 3 types. My minds at war with itself. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Just one correction, Printful is actually slightly different from most POD companies. They have their own factories and fulfill everything themselves. Hence can control more consistent product printing and better quality control and reshipments. :) hence also the prices being slightly higher.

So much of the ecom UA-cam space is filled with grifters and it's nice and erm.. wholesome to see solid info presented freely and without an immediate upsell to a course. ( Also would have had no idea that you need to pay up front for the printing instead of it coming out of the sale like with other ecom sites. ) Respect and thanks. ☮️

They will find a way to feed themselves. They will find a way to get what they want. It is a basic instinct we push down as we age. Theirs is a pure belief in themselves that they will solve their problems and succeed. Think about what stops that child drive of unparalleled self belief and work on a wonderful 2020

Hi Sarah. Thank you for the information. One question, are you recommending for the lifestyle photo, adding those to your store or just for ads ?

Dear Sarah, is it OK to mix print on demand products in a largely dropship ecommerce store? Or do you advise to keep them separate. Thank you for all your videos

So glad I already leaned towards the minimal color options. By observing what most people wear I knew that a lot of people like navy blue black and gray. While I think these are boring obviously people like them. But also eBay limits the amount of items you can post and if you have one shirt in 10 different colors then that counts as 10 different items

Sarah- As always thank you for such clear and relevant content. Regarding POD, is there any problem with listing quotes on merchandise as long as you attribute it to the appropriate source? Thanks!

Great advice, thank you! Too bad I can’t get some one on one coaching, I have the feeling your advice would be invaluable. I’m looking into if I can trademark my brand name and working on some designs but there is so much more to learn I have the feeling I’m going to have to binge watch your videos for the next week just to get started!

Loving your videos :) Just starting out and wondering if you can us use all of Canva's library of images to create printable designs for Clothing etc and sell them or are they protected too? If so, what is the best size/type to use to ensure the pixels and dpi are high enough resolution?

Just about to launch a print on demand store. Thanks so much for this information! An aside: it took me a second to figure out what an "allatronic" trademark search was. I love your NZ accent, however. It's wonderful. I'm in the UK and people sometimes cannot understand me!

If we are going to cover multiple different niches, should we build a store for each or just list everything under a general store name? Thank you for the video!

Great info about having a credit or debit card to pay for orders before customer payments reach your account. NO ONE ELSE TELLS YOU THIS! I thought that the payment went from the customer directly to the POD Printer and the difference goes into your Shopify account = Wrong? Thanks.

Hey Sarah, greetings from France !
I wanted to know how many designs/products should I start with when it is my first POD store? :D
And if you say more than 2-3 where can I have them without using my arm to pay designers?
(I know I could go on Fiverr and ask to a designer but I might prefere using Shutterstock as the design is already created)
Thanks a lot for your videos!

You have three options. You can either hire a designer on Fivver. Or you can look up images on Shutterstock and find two niches on that picture and get that images on your shirt. Or you can find inspiration for the picture and try to redesign the picture and put it on your shirt. If anything, I rather redesign it in my own style or hire a designer on Fivver if you have 25 dollars to spend on.

I just realised that Im going through problem number 3... Well, I noticed the issue last night, just thought Id sleep on it before looking for solutions. For now, I'll just make some more designs and leave them as unpuplished while I look for cash.

The problem with only picking a few colors when it is applied to Amazon Merch, is during seasons like Q4, if they don have that color shirt on hand, they won't show your shirt in the store
