My environmental art teacher said he did a lot of concept art for Anthem, most were flowers, shrubs, and some trees. Most of which never made it through the final project. However, it is a common thing. You’ll draw up over 100 things only for 1 or none to be used, but asked to draw up another hundred variations of whatever they’re looking for.
You randomly popped up in my algorithm. I was so hyped for this game because I was also loving Destiny and Division way back when, and really wanted to see how this one could play out. Sadly... things didn't go so well. I'm glad to see what your experience is.
It's more expectation vs reality. The biggest complaint is the game didn't have everything the player base wanted, so literally everyone tore it down, even those who never even played the game,
I miss this game so much. The 'base' ranger class actually had such a wonderful gameplay loop centered around grenade and gun combo's/multipliers that felt better than most other games I've ever played. They absolutely nailed the personality of each class and you never felt bad being grouped with any variation of suits because they all brought great stuff to the table. Heartbreaking what happened to the game honestly.
If that game was still alive, like content and everything i still be playing right now!! Its a game that i never play before like Anthem, its really sad
This game had so much potential for something grand. If EA weren't so greedy, they could have kept the OG development team intact from the beginning and delivered on the epic story we were led to believe it was going to have. I'm honestly surprised the servers are still live. I can only hope that one day EA will see what they missed and will put another team together to finish what was started.
History of this game. Bioware dragged their feet until 18 months before the game was released. What we played was what they could do in that time frame. They wasted like 3 years before that. After Anthem failed, Bioware assigned a small team to create Anthem 2.0. They were adding skill trees, new classes, and a real road map to more changes. EA decided during the Pandemic to shut it all down. It will never be finished.
@@LancerX916The years before the actual development wasn't wasted. That's how great worlds are made. The same happened with Dragon Age, they spent years on the world first. And both games are exceptional in this regard.
My favorite thing in Anthem was the combos. Priming all the enemies and then setting off the chain reaction! I loved The machine pistol for this reason. It did hardly any damage but it had tons of bullets. Fire a Launcher that reset with a combo & then endless combos. (I tried to farm for the legendary version of vassas surprise but couldn't get the roll so I never did end up maxing out my equipment with all 80 power.) My other favorite weapon was the grave digger that was like a laser beam that I used to take down shields since you couldn't combo through a shield.
You can still find people in game to play with you sometimes. Is bad that the gamer reviewers destroyed the game image to the point EA abandonned the project.
I really enjoyed Anthem, as a person with over 246 hours. The combat is actually fun, and the flight is some of the best flight I have played. You can actually feel how different the different suits are in playstyles. There was decent variance in weapons. You could customize your suits and load out. This game actually seemed like it would challenge Destiny.
I have about 60 hours in Anthem and have a maxed out Storm Javelin because it's so damn fun. The game is genuinely amazing up until you finish the final story mission and there is quite literally nothing to do but grind the same missions you have already done. The lack of content outside of the main story missions is disappointing to say the least, and once you get to a certain level on your Javelin, the game is way too easy. That being said, the impossible difficulties that are like the highest 3 you can do jump WAY too much from the highest difficulty you can do regularly. It's like hard mode has you fighting babies and then the next step up has you fighting enemies that require your gun's entire stock of ammo to kill (Just a single one btw). I wish I was exaggerating, that was EA's attempt at creating a challenging difficulty. The problem is that it's so challenging that it's boring. I would recommend everyone play through the story just to enjoy the mechanics and gameplay, but afterwards I wouldn't blame you if you uninstalled it directly after.
A server I'm on has a yearly event going where, for roughly 2 weeks, we only play Anthem together. It was sad to see EA green-light Anthem 2.0 and then cancel it for Fifa.
I think im going to re-install and just mess around with some flying and combat. Miss this game!! I loved the combat gameplay and flying. It all gave such a great adrenaline feeling.
Its one of those things. I LOVE Anthem. Replaying it is so bittersweet. Because it is fun, and beautiful and unique. But the campaign really is empty and boring. And you see so many little things "ugh if they had just done this or that, it would have been so much better". but we'll never see a sequel or likely any attempt at something similar. We'll never know an Anthem fully realized because Bioware gave up.
I loved and to some extent still love this game. So much potential and I had so much hope for it. I would love for someone to pick it up and give it a reboot or refresh. Man, if Anthem had the same or comparable level of support to say The Division 2, it would immediately become part of my game rotation. I still go back and play it from time to time because it's fun.
The First Descendant just came out and I couldn't but notice the potential of anthem because of it. I really do feel like they need to do a No Mans Sky or Cyberpunk 2077 on this game and I feel like the whole community would go back to it in a heartbeat. RIP Anthem
This is one of those games, like titanfall two, or ghost recon wildlands, that I pick up and binge every once in a while, and remember how fun they are. I wish more people liked the game and it got further development. So much potential that's not going anywhere.
Totally maxed out 3 of the 4 exos. I loved this game so much, have about 400 hours in it. I cant tell you how livid i was with ea for stopping support. Never touching another ea game again
If you read more into it and it’s development, you’ll surprisingly see that BioWare is the one at fault for Anthems downfall, not EA. Not saying that EA is great but BioWare really dropped the ball in terms of development.
@@Rye_-kq3jn damn, I didn't know that. But it really is such a shame, ea is huge and always has been so you know they had the money to support it but I'm sure didn't even try. But alright then, fuck bioware and ea 😂
I haven't had the chance to play Anthem yet and I still feel absolutely heartbroken knowing that it will never reach its full potential. The trailers alone were enough to convince me that this could have been something so special. If only it had gotten a fair chance.
It Breaks my heart how they were going to revive it with multiple teases and then just killed it off. I still Love Anthem :) Thanks for keeping it alive, @RogueGold :)
Theres a lot of parallels between Anthem and The First "The Division" Game. BOth games were extremely ambitious. With technical aspects that were just ahead of its time and frankly could not be supported by the engines they were on as well as the computers of most players. As someone who has played tons of looter shooters such as Warframe, Anthem and others. I want to say that for me. The largest drawback of this game was the loading times going from the hub into the actual game. So many load screens. But the actual gameplay and the world was astonishing and beautiful. The various weapons were all actually different. I remember trying the flamethrower on the tank. Having an electric gun of some sort. It was very unique. As well as the completely different gameplay style of the various classes. It was phenomenal. I do think the game was over hated and if the communities just supported it a little more the game could have corrected a lot of its problems.
Me and a couple friends just recently picked this up and it’s pretty damn fun so far! Only a few hours in but we’re having a blast so far. The fluidity of the movement with the fun combat is really cool!
I LOVED Anthem… its 10x better with friends too. I never understood the hate… but I also did NOT play it at launch. I played it more than a year after it released. I was sad that it died… so much potential.
It got a lot of unwarranted hate, even for the graphics because apparently they didn’t look like the reveal trailer graphics. This is a pretty rare case of the gamers themselves being the downfall of the game. The gamers left it behind way before the devs did. I’ve been trying to find a game to match the joy I found playing Anthem, so far all I can find is Warframe.
I sunk about 200hrs in to this game last dec/jan, what’s in this video only scratches the surface of Anthem, the campaign is great, and is a core part of regular playlists replaying different missions on higher difficulties, the four man “strikes” not only are extremely fun but you can also do a true end game type that is points based, where your are rewarded with more points for completing specific objectives, truly a one of a kind game.
Oh man..... I wanted soooo badly to be super in love with this game. In some ways I kind of was. As you stated very accurately, the bones were amazing. I played day 1, and the game had a lot of issues at the start that took a while to fix, then there was lack of content(end game close to non exostant and story content was very short as well), and some major balance issues. I personally really enjoyed my time playing it, mained an interceptor and it was really enjoyable to me. Darting around, super OP melee, just felt right to me. Had moment that it was super squish, but there were some mechanics to help mitigate that. It was an amazing idea, and they did do really good at some aspects of the game, as other ls have said it is a shame that it didn't have the support it needed because I can only imagine how awesome it would be right now.
yea lack of content is a given for live service games at launch. that's how it works. world and content build over time. every live service game goes through this. but the hate it got was crazy overblown imo. should have just said the issues and then let the devs build and grow the universe. instead hate lasted years and so EA decided why spend the $$$$ if we are getting bad publicity anyway? i don't blame them. the community and the media needs to know when to shut up sometimes. it kills games and studios.
@@nicholaswilkerson501 Bullshit! Thats just excuses, and I'm so tired of hiring it. And, thats from someone who played Anthem for a year and still hopped back in sometimes for another year... Even got friends on and played the story with them. But, yall are fooling yourself if you think "IT WAS THE FANS FAULT" Destiny had the same level of hate for a whole year. And, you know what saved the game... The 1st expansion that came out a year after release. Thats what Anthem didn't have. 2 years later and no major update or expansion showing that the game could be saved Anthem 2.0 wasn't gonna be that either. People act like that was the game saving moment that EA robbed us of, but all it was gonna be was basic rework of game functions, QoL features, and bug fixes to get the game to a better functioning and scalable state. THEN, one fateful day, they would finally have added more actual content to the game. Now, keep in mind that Destiny, it's biggest competitor, already had 4 content DLCs and 2 major expansions given the same amount of time. And Destiny was the biggest laughing stock of the gaming world, so that alone doesn't tank a game. Not being able to turn it around was the problem.
@@MyZ001 well.. the fans are also a problem about destiny because 90% of the expansion are just shitty and fans still buy it lol, what saved the game wasnt the devs, it was dumbs fan who loved to be fck hard, and whats more ? They literally took out content we BOUGHT and the game still working, fans are indeed a problem too
Played through Anthem twice and like you said, at the core, EVERYTHING about the game was PERFECT!!! The movement mechanics were incredible, the areas looked AMAZING!!!! It was really theirs to throw away as it really could have been an INCREDIBLE title for a LOOOONG TIME!!! Could have been along the lines of Destiny with being a great looter shooter for ages to come, it is such a heartbreak that they just threw it down the toilet.
One of the technical artist for the game was Ben Cloward, he is on youtube making the absolute best tutorial for material and shader. For as much as this game lack content, the visual are astounding. Anyone who is interested in game development should watch Ben's tutorial
Struggling to find an experience like the one you had in Anthem when you run, jump off a high platform, freefall then fly, awesome. There is surely a cracking game here somewhere.
@@adamyork1999 I played a very popular poison melee Interceptor build at the time. Highly mobile assassin gameplay but also very very disorienting at times if things got heated and I lost my cool between all the dashes and poison cloud animations xD never have I ever encountered more sick gameplay than that
Haven't played the game yet, but it sounds like the Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon had a similar mechanic in a lot of areas where you could fly around and attack enemies in the air or on the ground as well as have 50 different ways to kill them.
I just picked it up a few days ago and Im loving it. Its a shame theres not really many players to matchmake with. I keep getting the same few players, if any.
I never used Interceptor often, but I think what it's ultimate does is leave clones basically, if you smack an enemy once, the clone will keep attacking for awhile, maybe the whole ultimate, or until the enemy dies of course.
The gameplay of this was next level. The combo system was fun. Maneuvering with the interceptor felt so rewarding, learning the dash dash melee flying trick
They fixed the main issues but too little to late. Then they stopped supporting the game after leaving us hanging for part 2... total let down. It had so much potential. Annnd being one of the top players was nice. Brought me back to my halo 3 days...
how did you even log in? everytime i try title screen pops up servers are no longer available, talked to EA rep and they said anthem servers has been shutdown years ago and i am not able to play the game anymore
Not gonna lie but after watching this you're tempting me to download it from my library and play 😅😅. I was interceptor too but they were fragile from what I could remember 😂 great video @roguegold
I played Interceptor too! Definitely the most fragile of the exo's but it makes up for it with unmatched mobility^^ I played a melee poison build that went hard on any elemental combo. I would be going crazy on mobility when taking on enemies alone but would absolutely obliterate entire packs if I could combo with other people's elemental dmg :D God I miss this game so much
Played it about 6 months ago. About 30 hours total playtime and actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It's good.. wish it was supported more
This was a genuine blast to play, whether you were solo or had people to group up with. My wife and I were excited to get home and play Anthem together, and sometimes we would have a couple buddies around too that got it and we had a full group. If it had any kind of revival, I know we would play the absolute crap out of it all over again. Big RIP to Anthem, one of my favorite games that got abandoned.
picked this up last yr for a few bucks when i got covid last year. spent 269hrs in it - there's nothing left to do/upgrade, but i pop by occasionally to do some flying which is still 1 of the best experiences imo.
i love anthem, especially the big javelin. i got an upgrade or maybe it was just the base javelin but u can fly into people and do damage it was so awesome
@@Maria_Banks No.....They gave us a mediocre game, with a solid foundation, weak loot, dumb enemies and a story that isn't that interesting, because they didn't really know what the heck the "Anthem" was and were trying to piece it together as the game was coming together... and people were supposed to keep playing that until they got it right? They owed the gaming community after that BS or at least their audience that paid. They had the opportunity to have their "Hello Games Moment" and redeem themselves with Anthem 2.0, but they bailed. Shame on them, and it's just a shame in general, because (as I said before...) the game had a solid foundation.
@@Maria_Banks I'd say it's 50/50 when it comes to blame. EA follows the money and they didn't see it (because we didn't see content yet) so they didn't look at the potential down the line and gave up before giving it an actual chance.
Man the Interceptor! You get those Combo Prox Pings popping off and it turns into mob dropping symphony. Gosh dang, I jussy might have to redownload after watching this.
I read the Kotaku long-form piece again on Anthem's development disaster and I'm just honestly sad about all the work that went into this, and for what...
I def remember being a broke college kid debating between anthem and Div 2. Went with div cause I was skeptical about anthem 🤣 now I’m a broke adult recently coming back to Div 🙃
I remember there being a stark divide in my friend group for which game people thought would last longer... guess I should've put money down on my Div 2 call 😄
i found so fucking funny how he was talking about flying while fighting door man and not once he thought of flying to shoot him from above where he didn't have a door
This game was so amazing even the soundtrack would pull you in even more. They had everything the world, weapons, flying mechanics, cinematics, vivid visuals, amazing creatures. I hope one day someone can revive this to what they also showed at E3 which as we now know was a fake gameplay trailer. But that trailer alone is what everyone wanted that is what we had been waiting for. Sadly I don't think we will ever get any type of game that literally made every gamer say YESSSSS FINALLY. New games now you just get the emotion of eh yeah I'll play that I guess.
I remember at one point one of the statues for a mission lost it's texture so it was just a pink square. Also they couldn't seem to get loot drop to work at all. no matter the difficulty you just never got anything.
Me and my crew played the shit out of this game and loved every second of it, we all built a team together to synergize and had so much fun even repeating the dungeon runs way too many times. I really hope something like this comes along again, the feeling of freedom and fun while playing this game was immense.
played it back when it came out. got it pre ordered. i was so hyped and just buried myself in this ironman destiny mix. now i wanna start a new game and re experience it again thanks to you
I played and completed the main story of Anthem in 2023 fantastic game. I wanted to keep playing, as I really was enjoying it, but most post main campaign content required a party and it was difficult finding people to do it with.
I played Anthem when it first came out and I loved it. There were so many people that were dunking on it back in the day because of miss expectation in my opinion. Bioware was very well known for story driven single player narrative games like Mass Effect and gamers were disappointed to find out that the Anthem story was not a huge RPG adventure like its predecessors. I feel that Bioware was a victim of its own previous success. I think it was a very good game and fun as hell for a looter shooter, it had issues for sure but not devastating except for the ridiculously long loading time. I think lots of people played it, consumed the content so fast, then bounced when it did not meet their expectation Mass Effect story that they expected and many quickly moved on. There was also a 5 man multiplayer dungeon component that was buggy frustrated many people off.
The narrative not being on par with their previous franchises might've been a reason, but definitely not one of main ones imo. At the time people were mad there was A: not enough content and B: the content that was there was repetitive af. I don't mind the latter since I play grindy games like Path of Exile for example, but I can understand why it's not for most people.
I was in the closed alpha or bata for Anthem and was soooooo pumped for it. Once it went full i think i played it none stop for months. loved the mechanics and gameplay, even the story isnt 1/2 bad. Sad to see a goood game die.
I preordered when it came out on PS4 and played from day launch for maybe 200 hrs. I got all of the suits leveled up pretty high and felt like I mastered the playstyle for all of the suits. The problem was there was nothing else really to do. I think there was something called Cataclysm, but that was it. If the devs had spent a little more time on this game, it could have been so much more.
I never was more excited for a game to come out, I had so much fun in the beginning but quickly ran out of stuff to do. It kills me how much potential this game had!
Colossus main here, i pre-ordered it just because i saw the Colossus and his chunky potential. Where as other games could say, you're a tank for DPS. It just never feels like that. All it feels like is a character that can quickly swap between classes. But with anthem, i FEEL like those classes. Storm javelin? You're an arch mage throwing lightning. Colossus? You ARE the juggernaut tanking damage and shielding your teammates while periodically throwing out mini nukes. It FELT like i was those javelin pilots, but now? Im sad about a game with SO much going for it to fade into obscurity. The only thing i don't like is getting 50k faction points for each of the groups just to unlock gold. Signed: 753 masterwork Colossus.
Old interceptor main here. The door guys get eaten for breakfast by the melee, it's so funny seeing people have to use explosives or cooldowns on em and then I can just run in and throw hands. I used to run shotguns cus they'd charge your ult the fastest. Only downside was that they added a few flying bosses in raids and that made interceptors ult kinda useless 😅 thanks for looking at Anthem it deserves some love even after it's death
I think ea dropped this because apex legends- that is ea’s biggest cash cow. and that playerbase is already dwindling even tho it’s the best battle royale. They would just be competing w themselves. This game looks like it could’ve been the next apex.
I don't think he ever figured out the combo system. If you're interested, you apply an ailment to an enemy then detonate it to create a burst. for the interceptor it's the poison grenade followed by the melee.
I bought this in pre-order and that the definition of a robbery. They launched it and it wasn’t a complete game. And then they ditched the effort all together. It was a long time before I pre-ordered anything again lol
I played the hell out of it. My son convinced me to go back and play it and they did add new stuff and I had amazing builds. I have not played another game that felt this good. There was a combo system. Primers and detonators, on both weapons and abilities. The javelins were good. Once you leaened how to get in to and out of combat, it was absolutely amazing. If they had just sunk their teeth in, it really could have been a 'no Man's sky', ffxiv, or warframe.
I played Anthem at release day, got some friends to play along, did all the missions and quests (than werent a lot exactly) it had some gamebreaking bugs, and bosses where cool to fight, there where so much potential in it, bashed by bad company practices, like microtransactions, or the precarious amount of content after the gam released, still, had great memories with this game mostly in co op
I pray everyday for a clone or them randomly reinvesting. Its my fave game conceptually ever made. I jusr wanna fly around in a customized mech again in a pve co op world. Its crazy how few mech games there are
Trying something a bit different with this one! Hope you all enjoy!
The other day I seen this, thought the same.

Heartbreaking what happened to the game honestly.
My favourite suit HAD to be the big beefy boy. Shield, big cannon, can have heavy weapons, I loved it.
If that game was still alive, like content and everything i still be playing right now!! Its a game that i never play before like Anthem, its really sad
Bro I'm a space wizard all the f***ing way boooi!!!! Sounds like wed have a full team here! 😂 I miss this game soooo much 😢
We got a full team man the servers still up i played multi-player 5 days ago
@bironjames9948 I'm going to have to re-download and f around a bit. Gameplay was so next level man! Maybe I'll see yall on there
This game had so much potential for something grand. If EA weren't so greedy, they could have kept the OG development team intact from the beginning and delivered on the epic story we were led to believe it was going to have. I'm honestly surprised the servers are still live. I can only hope that one day EA will see what they missed and will put another team together to finish what was started.
The crazy thing was, for once this wasn't EA's fault, this was all on Bioware, all the decisions were theirs.
EA is easily swayed. If enough people are playing they might come back
@@LancerX916The years before the actual development wasn't wasted. That's how great worlds are made. The same happened with Dragon Age, they spent years on the world first. And both games are exceptional in this regard.
@@zorlac4884 not true. EA controls the $$$$$, bioware made the game. Studio got shut down is an EA decision not a bioware one.
One the biggest “what ifs” in gaming history
My favorite thing in Anthem was the combos. Priming all the enemies and then setting off the chain reaction!
I loved The machine pistol for this reason. It did hardly any damage but it had tons of bullets. Fire a Launcher that reset with a combo & then endless combos.
(I tried to farm for the legendary version of vassas surprise but couldn't get the roll so I never did end up maxing out my equipment with all 80 power.)
My other favorite weapon was the grave digger that was like a laser beam that I used to take down shields since you couldn't combo through a shield.
Same!!! The combos is what I loved. Reminded me of mass effect combos
Its honestly SHOCKING that you even CAN play this game in 2024. Id have expected EA to shut the servers down years ago.
I'm wondering how he even got in. I can't get past the intro screen
@@kinman3051 lol, i can play it normally. What i can't play from ea is MEA multiplayer
You can still find people in game to play with you sometimes. Is bad that the gamer reviewers destroyed the game image to the point EA abandonned the project.
@@kinman3051 I tried just now and was able to get into the game and do missions.
Damn, if everyone's able to do it I'd better try. Here's to hoping playstation works
It's on sale again on all platforms. I just started and got a group on the first mission. Quite a few people still play.
Just downloaded it
@@Beast-fo8td Me too Freelancers
What platform you played on , bro?
been on sale like 5 times for 6 bucks on PS, still nope
bro just downloaded it. And the mix of flying and fighting is pretty dope
Aint no way
The combat was genuinely so addictive.
I also really enjoyed it and wish they wouldve stuck by it.
The only looter that can beat Destiny is Destiny itself
Warframe already did years ago
Try armored core 4
Yeah same here might just install it again just to go and fly around a bit and have fun. Soooooo sad what happened to this game
There’s an alternate universe where Rogues’ channel is spilt between Division and Anthem content.
RIP Anthem
underrated channel! You really nailed comedy timing and editing!
🙏 I appreciate that greatly, thank you!
As per my own reply to this video, Amen to that! I won't give EA/Bioware another penny of my money.
@@Rye_-kq3jn damn, I didn't know that. But it really is such a shame, ea is huge and always has been so you know they had the money to support it but I'm sure didn't even try. But alright then, fuck bioware and ea 😂
It seemed to me that the cancellation was in part due to lack of support and interest from gamers.
Mee Too!
Yeah I had really good hopes when they showed us their roadmap towards fixing the most prominent issues :(
And then suddenly it was just "nah nvm" T_T
Honestly with this game this was the one time devs should have ignored soi boys and continued the game
Me and a couple friends just recently picked this up and it’s pretty damn fun so far! Only a few hours in but we’re having a blast so far. The fluidity of the movement with the fun combat is really cool!
It definitely is! Glad y'all are having fun!
I LOVED Anthem… its 10x better with friends too. I never understood the hate… but I also did NOT play it at launch. I played it more than a year after it released. I was sad that it died… so much potential.
It was hated because, too many loading screens, crap missions, no-end game and none of the updates helped to bring players back.
the end game was just dead that's why they hated the game it's self had some solid core stuff to it but content and loot with servers just ruined it
It got a lot of unwarranted hate, even for the graphics because apparently they didn’t look like the reveal trailer graphics. This is a pretty rare case of the gamers themselves being the downfall of the game. The gamers left it behind way before the devs did. I’ve been trying to find a game to match the joy I found playing Anthem, so far all I can find is Warframe.
@@Maria_Banks I have never tried Warframe... I will check it out.
@@cal7281 reminds me of Outriders
The flow state i would get into this game comboing, dashing and flying across the battlefield was unparalleled.
But, yall are fooling yourself if you think "IT WAS THE FANS FAULT"
Destiny had the same level of hate for a whole year. And, you know what saved the game... The 1st expansion that came out a year after release. Thats what Anthem didn't have. 2 years later and no major update or expansion showing that the game could be saved
Anthem 2.0 wasn't gonna be that either.
They literally took out content we BOUGHT and the game still working, fans are indeed a problem too
Loved this game... could have been so good
Played through Anthem twice and like you said, at the core, EVERYTHING about the game was PERFECT!!!
Continue to play we are still trying to breathe it back to life
One of the technical artist for the game was Ben Cloward, he is on youtube making the absolute best tutorial for material and shader. For as much as this game lack content, the visual are astounding. Anyone who is interested in game development should watch Ben's tutorial
Great recommendation!
Struggling to find an experience like the one you had in Anthem when you run, jump off a high platform, freefall then fly, awesome. There is surely a cracking game here somewhere.
I remember playing a very fire rich Goliath build and absolutely tore through the spider dungeon mission. Good times
Game had so much potential seriously
I never used Interceptor often, but I think what it's ultimate does is leave clones basically, if you smack an enemy once, the clone will keep attacking for awhile, maybe the whole ultimate, or until the enemy dies of course.
The gameplay of this was next level. The combo system was fun. Maneuvering with the interceptor felt so rewarding, learning the dash dash melee flying trick
It was such a good starting point for a bigger game.
Played it last week , as long as servers still active and game plays it's a cool game to hop on
From what i remember their were some weakpoints for each bosses which drain more health when hit with bullet or any elemental attack.
I actually know a guy who worked on this game. He was a BioWare veteran and he left the studio because of this game
They fixed the main issues but too little to late. Then they stopped supporting the game after leaving us hanging for part 2... total let down. It had so much potential. Annnd being one of the top players was nice. Brought me back to my halo 3 days...
If "potential" was a currency, Anthem would be filthy, stinking.
Nope. EA would've canned support after 2 years
how did you even log in? everytime i try title screen pops up servers are no longer available, talked to EA rep and they said anthem servers has been shutdown years ago and i am not able to play the game anymore
Me too
Servers are working just fine. just finished a session. Somebody lied to you, the servers were never shut down
Just bought it this week for 3 bucks, working fine.
Not gonna lie but after watching this you're tempting me to download it from my library and play 😅😅. I was interceptor too but they were fragile from what I could remember 😂 great video @roguegold
I played a ton at launch, and I was an interceptor too, and I completely forgot what was my main class mechanic loop like...
Anthem could've genuinely been incredible if it was published by a studio that actually cared about the gaming industry.
It is such a shame that this game was not executed better. Who doesn't want an Ironman suit to play with.
picked this up last yr for a few bucks when i got covid last year. spent 269hrs in it - there's nothing left to do/upgrade, but i pop by occasionally to do some flying which is still 1 of the best experiences imo.
where did you buy it from
The flying was top notch, and the whole primer/detonator combo mechanic was such a cool way to incentivize team play.
i love anthem, especially the big javelin. i got an upgrade or maybe it was just the base javelin but u can fly into people and do damage it was so awesome
No way they did nothing to this game, maybe they doing something in secret and prepare for a comeback.
Anthem had so much potential and still makes me mad that they walked away from it.
Gamers walked away from it long before the devs did. This one’s on us I’m afraid
The combat, the mech suit movements, the world were amazing.
Cant believe this game died before Warframe
I def remember being a broke college kid debating between anthem and Div 2. Went with div cause I was skeptical about anthem 🤣 now I’m a broke adult recently coming back to Div 🙃
I remember there being a stark divide in my friend group for which game people thought would last longer... guess I should've put money down on my Div 2 call 😄
We need an Anthem 2 to fully realize the vision
No we don't. It was a trash game that dod everything worse than warframe.
@Quole1234 gameplay was fun and the world was gorgeous, huge potential there if you ask me
i found so fucking funny how he was talking about flying while fighting door man and not once he thought of flying to shoot him from above where he didn't have a door
this game had so much potential. the gameplay itself is actually very good
titanfall and anthem deserved better
What they did to this game is a tragedy. It had so much promise.
They can save it, they have too.. how tf you give up on this
This game was so amazing even the soundtrack would pull you in even more.
This game had infinite potential. EA ruined it.
Me and my crew played the shit out of this game and loved every second of it, we all built a team together to synergize and had so much fun even repeating the dungeon runs way too many times. I really hope something like this comes along again, the feeling of freedom and fun while playing this game was immense.
On sale right now for $3. Might actually play it for the first time.
Damn this game always looked like it held sooo much potential.
Just found your channel, subbed :)
played it back when it came out. got it pre ordered. i was so hyped and just buried myself in this ironman destiny mix. now i wanna start a new game and re experience it again thanks to you
I still wonder what could have been if BioWare gave Anthem the same treatment that Hello Games gave No Man’s Sky…
I played and completed the main story of Anthem in 2023 fantastic game. I wanted to keep playing, as I really was enjoying it, but most post main campaign content required a party and it was difficult finding people to do it with.
I've played all of the major looter shooters, and Anthem, by far, has the most fun gunfights. I really hope someone makes a similar game soon.
I love your division content but I definitely like this content as well. I'd like to see you branch out into more looter shooter games.
👍 Appreciate it!
I would want to buy the IP and make it somehow open source for developers like myself can continue building it.
How did you play it? I tried but said servers were down or something. Glad I didn't pay for it
18 seconds in, spot on assumption my guy, sub acquired!
🙏🙏
Thanks for not being a hater. I was late to it but enjoyed what little there is of it.
Only downside was that they added a few flying bosses in raids and that made interceptors ult kinda useless 😅
thanks for looking at Anthem it deserves some love even after it's death
