The epidemic of chronic disease and understanding epigenetics | Kent Thornburg | TEDxPortland

- When will we decide to conquer chronic disease? The moment we realize the future’s not only in our genes but also in our hands with the choices we make regarding food and nutrition. We now know how we grow before we are born, matters. A woman who is pregnant with a daughter is nourishing the egg that may someday become her grandchild. We must remove the vulnerability for developing chronic disease before it starts. Through the right choices in Family, School, Workplace & Policy - we can position humanity towards a sustainable, more livable answer.
Dr. Kent L. Thornburg received his PhD in Developmental Physiology and studied Cardiovascular Physiology as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Postdoctoral Fellow at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He participates in co-funded projects with scientists in England, New Zealand, France, Finland and Australia. He serves regularly on advisory panels at the NIH, the American Heart Association and the Children’s Heart Foundation and recently served as Co-Chair of the task force to determine the 10-year vision of the developmental origins of health and disease for the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

Simple definition of Epi-genetics :
"Genes may load the gun, but diet & lifestyle will pull the trigger."
-Dr Rhonda Patrick, PhD
That quote is from T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D., not Rhonda Patrick. Give credit where it's due. Dr. Campbell did the original research that showed this to be true. Thanks!
@Philip J Fry How do you know what his condition would be without him following this diet? There is now very good scientific evidence that plant based diet helps diminish symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. That and - there are smokers who lived to be 90. It doesn't mean smoking is good for you.
Nice quote but not true in many many cases.
That quote is worth more than this talk which is sorely lacking in anything but statistics.
Who are you watching? I see no signs of crippling arthritis. I am a dementia care specialist and end of life doula for geriatrics and his hands are not crippled.
Excellent talk that is MOST IMPORTANT!

This was a very educational video. I throughly enjoyed it!! I love that I have found a new way to think about my health and my children's health. I only wish I saw it years ago. Thank you to everyone who is doing this research. It is very essentially needed! I will spread the word as I hope others will do!!
We are not living longer we dieing longer
Waaaaa.... cry.
Aaaaamen!!!!!
That's right. They are not living, but surviving.

Exactly!!!!
Love it!!! This is one of the best educational video that I have heard in years. I think everyone should watch this video and learn how to improve their health. It is informative and exciting to learn about how important Geneology affects all of our lives. I needed to know about this years ago.
Excellent! I would also add chronic stress, trauma, anxiety, negative emotion also compromises our immunity. So some form of mindfulness, meditation, yoga is beneficial for total health along with whole nutrition and clean water.
Susmita well said indeed x
BIG PHARMA, BIG CORP, BIG TECH, want us to be sick because the repeat customers are the best customers, money, money, money!!!
Yes, and they are part of the population control cabal, including Bill Gates, Monsanto, the remaining and passed Koch brothers, Dupont, Bayer and other CEOs of major corporations. Henry Kissenger said the we need to get rid of Useless Eaters, a term coined by the Nazis.
Exactly! And the population is finally starting to wake up to their shenanigans! Consequently cancer is down for the first time since big business took over.
Yes, and injecting so many vaccines and endless boosters in small infants is not helping either. The US has 5 more vaccines on the kids schedule than Denmark. Denmark is doing fine.
@@gantfrost7749 Why is that fine...?(vaccines are never fine) what we need to do is feed ourselves and our children well..... living well.
And accept that natural diseases sometimes take the lives from human beings... old..or young, that's the way Nature works!
Like bushfires, earthquakes, etc.
We have accept (?) the enormous amounts of traffic victims as collateral damage...
So, living is taking risks... living well is taking less risks...
Vaccines are NOT the answer to overcome or protect child diseases, creating a healthy immune system is !
Living is diving in a dangerous world full of risks... that`s the way it is.
(i`m not a native speaker but i think you gett my message.)
Gant Frost exactly!
Japan doesn’t require ANY vaccines for children and they are not only a healthier country, but they also have a lower number of infant deaths.. than the U.S. does per capits

He barely touched on epigenetics at all. He also failed to mention that epigenetics are a factor thoughtout our lives as different genes become active or inactive in response to our stresses and environment. The phenotypes of identical twins become less identical every year due to epigenetic changes. Our bodies are not fully predestined from birth as this talk seems to hint towards; it's actually the opposite. Our bodies are in constant flux and our genes have many possible ways to express themselves. Yes, the biggest changes occur before birth and the changes in childhood will be more significant than changes post-puberty, but our bodies and minds are still responsive to change throughout our lives.
Yes, epigenetics is very interesting and we have a lot to learn.
.i
But unless you can harness that ideology into a DOLLAR SIGN ... no one cares.
Very well said I was thinking the same thing as I was watching this
Thank you!
I love this talk. If absolutely everyone listens to this talk there is a chance things will get better
Dr. Kent is just amazing. As a MPH student, I had an opportunity to hear him as a guest speaker in one of my classes. That was the first time I heard about epigenetics and the concept totally blew my mind.
Very good video ! Informative, factual and precise .Straight and unambiguous narratives help common folks like me to heed the messages being communicated by the speaker. Thank you and more success to your group !
Fascinating thoughts: "The egg that made me was nourished by my grandmother!...a two-generation effect - How you grow before you are born matters"
That was a new idea for me too. The foods: go low on the lectins , up choline and fast.
@@scottherf And to go low on the lectins I dumped the whole grains where according to Dr Steven Gundry the hull of the grain has the most damaging lectin of for us humans in the form of wheat germ glutennin, which breaks down into gliadin which causes zonulin to open up the tight junctions of our gut lining and allows LPS ( Lipo poly saccharides) and other undesirables to leak through into our blood where the immune system attacks and cause chronic auto immune problems..
@@LeithYearwood wow thank you for sharing that
My friends are dying in their 50's and 60's. We are killing ourselves, and don't care.
Yep. Regular medical doctors tend to just tell their patients it's normal aging (oh, and BTW, take this drug).
There is nothing normal about what has been going on in the last 40 years, let alone 25 years.
We’re constant fodder for Big Pharma and the Medical Profession!!! Some people sadly die early (40,50,60) but there’s always a guaranteed supply, more youngsters coming through. Teach them to eat dead, Frankenfoods. It’s a vicious cycle!!!
@john banwell I have done my research for chronic pain and there is plenty of scientific evidence that dairy and meat cause inflammation in the body that causes an autoimmune response and diseases!
True. But eating burgers, and pizza is so much more important than actually living, right?...
@john banwell
Sure, cutting refined carbs will help solve high inflammation, but Marie is right, cutting animal products like meat and dairy, can do the same.
For another perspective of this topic, I recommend that you watch the movie: „What The Health“, while being critical, and afterwards doing some scientific research on your own. Don’t want you to change your mind or anything, but if you do what I just recommended, you will understand what Marie meant, and not just call it „rubbish“
Edit: And also, please don’t just think there is only one solution, like your example of a Lifestyle. (I couldn’t really decide if you actually thought that, discussing over UA-cam comments is always a bit hard, as it is with any written discussion 😃

You can get the "oils" he is referring to ALA converted to DHA and EPA from Flax and Chia. No need to eat fish!
The conversion rate is very limited though
How much flax and chia are the equivalent of a fillet of snapper?
The man is right. Fish is the best. Processed food just exposes us to cancer

Wild caught fish is the best
It is sad but the prediction of diabetes in our population is much worse than it was expected in 2015. The needed diet to correct diabetes is now known to be Low carbohydrate, no grains or refined products, healthy saturated fats, not sugar, and no seed oils.and meats that have not been subjected to fattening with grains or refined grains. He is so correct about us living longer and being less healthy is so on the money. Health care for people eating the American diet all of their lives is sky rocketing. The effect of the American diet is usually very slow in causing almost all of the chronic diseases they encounter as they age, so most of us never know what caused it.
I found that fascinating! Thanks for the layman's definition of epigenetics Dr Patrick.
Chronic disease should not exist in a country with the so-called “best healthcare system in the world“.
Because that's a lie. We in no way have the best healthcare system. Brilliant doctors cannot help people unable to pay to see them. Give me Canada anyday.
What country has the best health care? It sure ain't the USA.
best health care system? doctors allowed to prescribe opioids for minor pains?

Check out the nutrition books for pregnancy by Lily Nichols.
Excellent couldn’t have said it better myself
Rather simplistic and doesn't take into account the huge increase in quantity and number of environmental pollutants. Also, no mention of the chronic mystery diseases that are rising at a huge rate. So people used to not live as long, then they lived longer, but it all caught up with us and now we are dying younger of heart disease. But many people did not used to have very good diets, yet diabetes and heart disease are what grew. And of course he has to use the opportunity to sell us a dietary dogma. Not saying there is nothing here, but pretty arrogant to think we have it all figured out.
I appreciate the simplicity after hearing so many people complicate what we "should" and "shouldn't" eat.
Thank u dr P

Time is the problem, people run after the $ and eat this fast food to kill themselves.
True. Or, it can be from a lack of planning for the day ahead. A simple prep the night before can make all the difference in improving health/Epigenetics! 😋
🍏An apple w/almond (or maybe peanut*) butter or a baggie full of nuts, baby carrots, blueberries & sesame seeds, or just an avocado, can do the trick 🥑 ... a basic starting point *****
Yes, it takes time (2-3 wks) to transition the body to be satisfied with such a (lunch) meal, but one can learn to be more creative in time, too.
This type of food is closer to what the body wants nutrient-wise anyway, and it WILL adjust when consumed consistently. Especially if one is intermittent-fasting, and that's the 1st meal. Double portions (in the beginning) may help satisfy. But 99% of processed foods/ AND all junk oils used at restaurants/home are the culprit. Anything that comes in a bag, a box, a bottle, or a can, with a list of more than maybe 2-3 ingredients is generally not healthy.
I just know that when the focus is on garden water-rich foods, primarily-- it's a game changer in your what genes get turned on & not that difficult to change.
Knowledge is Power, but only when we apply it.

Processed foods are all about reducing costs of production, to earn more profits, it is all about making more money. So as long as the generalized idea about more is better is replaced with the idea of enough is enough, or small is beautiful, or having more might be worse ( more food, more clatter, etc.), again as long the idea of more is better prevails, food companies will keep processing foods to be cheaper. We have to change the way we feel about what is enough.
Fascinating !

Excellent Important Health Information
We are fearfully and wonderfully made and nutrition is only one thing we can clean up. For physical health Light, water and Magnetism matter as well per Dr. Jack Kruse. And spiritually matters for both now and eternity per The Word of God.
Sad business indeed. Great talk.
I'm with him about eating a good diet, and about not eating processed foods, but to me that include rejecting grains and legumes and high carbs, NOT rejecting meat. Still this is four years old and re-examination of old data is proving the case against meat was biased and fiddled with and discredited and that meat is healthy and oxalates are not. Otherwise this was a really good and very enjoyable talk.
Agree with you totally.

Great..great video sir
sorry , did I miss the point? Did he explain why processed food is so bad for nourishing babies?
As someone who has inherited a gene (HLA-B27) that has given me Crohns disease and Ankylosing Spondilitis in my 20s, I have had to experiment with my diet. I have seen an obvious and dramatic change in my inflammation since I went on a very low carb ketogenic diet. Beforehand I had frequent gastro problems and lower back pain and inflammation in my hip joints so sever that some days I could not even walk. The longer I am on the diet, the more my symptoms disappear. I am mostly pain free and can move around now with little issue. Perhaps my diseases will eventually go into complete remission if I strictly stick to this diet. I am now beginning to think that my curse has actually been a blessing in disguise. If I hadn't have had such health problems I wouldn't have noticed the obvious anti-inflammatory and health benefits of going keto. Having these diseases and changing my diet probably made me healthier in the long run.
Also, when on ketogenic diets the body uses the ketone beta hydroxybutyrate as fuel instead of glucose and this molecule circulates through the blood stream. It then can be readily used up by all tissues and cells in the body. Not only is this an alternative fuel for metabolism but it has also been shown to have a secondary function as an epigenetic hormone that literally has effects on gene expression. It could be entirely plausible that I am slowly turning off the HLA-B27 gene in my cells on this diet which could be one explanation for my results. It would also make sense as I lived for 25 years without Ankylosing spodilitis or crohns disease and then one day the gene must have been expressed epigenetically as a result of some combination of environmental factors. If it could be turned on, it must be possible to revert it back to being off. I am also not the only person to report this finding, many other people with the same or similar chronic diseases that doctors have told us are incurable and progressively degenerative have noted the same results when on a ketogenic diet. It's about time they seriously studied this. I predict that in a few decades they won't be administering glucose in iv drips in hospitals, but beta hydroxibuterate.
Andrew Kowalkowski hmm so Crohn’s is a new disease. It did not exist before. So how do you inherit it through a certain gene?
Now assuming a gene exists how come nobody got Crohn’s 100 years ago?
I prefer meat and natural plants and I will live in a lean-to down by the river not in a care facility.
Thank you
Organic grass fed meat occasionally, is okay.
Avoid foods that contain Lectins, because Lectins in food causes inflammation, which starts and elevates chronic disease.
The book *The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven Gundry* explains the newest scientific evidence regarding the elimination of chronic disease. I'm eating Lectin-free since January 2018 and within a week my body started to heal and I felt increasingly better. I'm now compleatly free from the symptoms of chronic fatigue & fibromyalgia.
Meat is too high in acid... it's for dogs and cats...not for people.
@Bongo Man
The inflammatory and thus harmful properties of Lectins are resistant to the process of cooking, with the one exception of legumes, but only when those are being cooked by using a pressure cooker.
I've been reading that oxylates are the problem
We won't, because corporations like money. Getting rid of chronic disease would destroy a source of profit, which is the antithesis of what various aspects of the medical industry actually want to do. Most normal nurses and doctors totally want to help, but at the roots of that 'family tree' lies corporate greed, just like in any other industry. Pain, deterioration and even death are products. And until we, as a society, quit viewing them as such this will not change.
Thanks a lot..That is amazing.
the grave yards are filled with really old people who lived much longer than anyone today.
A big part of the very low "average life expectancy" at 1900 had more to do with the number of infants and children who died of infectious disease, dramatically bringing down the average. Those who lived past childhood generally did just fine. And, as someone else pointed out, it's not so much that we are living longer, thanks to chronic illnesses and medical interventions, we are DYING longer.
love his intro
Lifespan increased....until the last 25 to 30 years or so...when death rates started exceeding birth rates. Baby Boomers will start showing as the early wave of people dying younger, generally, than their parents. I've been watching it in my family, in client's families, and others I speak with.
I witness 3 generations of epigenetics happening: From the Irish potato famine immigrants included a great grandfather; boys about age 10 who experienced famine, spawn generations of male heirs who will likely develop diabetes type 2. My grandfather, and father, both developed DM2; It won't be long before we learn if my brother also develops it...because he also eats junk-food while traveling a lot ...then, his son, later.
What each person experiences in their life, DOES change how genes express themselves, daily, cumulatively, into generations to come. Also, those genetic switches are not simple on/off switches...some behave more like rheostats.
But his advising grains as healthy?
Not these days...grains have mostly been GMO'd, contaminated with multiple rounds of poisons used to grow cosmetic, long-shelf-life 'foods'; and, other chemical exposures also are hormone interrupters--of all hormones; those and other things, all contribute to making entire populations into 'walking wounded'...heaven only knows what 60 years of increasingly intense chemicalization will cause...we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg right now....'tsunami' barely describes what's coming.
Nope, wrong. Grains haven't been mostly GMO'd, actually there isn't one breed of wheat that has been submitted to genetic engineering. All the new species of wheat we have are the results of hybridization, which means crossing two species through normal reproduction, the same way we got a mule from crossing a horse and a donkey. We never inserted a gene from something into the genome of any wheat species. Winter Star, it's better to stay silent when you don't know anything. Corn and Soy are the two species that have been genetically modified.
@@PhilippeOrlando you're the one who needs to learn about wheat. Wheat has been PROVEN to damage the digestive system of EVERYONE..EVERYONE. The digestive system is the most important aspect of our health. It's our first brain, really. If we mess up the gut, we mess up the brain and the entire body. Wheat, especially in the US, is truly the worst so called "food" item we can consume.
Perhaps I should be silent....but I believe news about changes in yeast engineering to force bread production faster...'explode' wheat in new ways..... effect the structure of wheat allow it getting across the blood barrier (permability) into the body system.....with a previously unk now suspicious deleterious effect.
Profit through science/industry.....fits the fad to get off wheat=feel better.... but not necessarily the wheat itself??? Hello

How can a pre diabetic eat a diet full of fruits and whole grains. Don't they spike insulin?
I was on insulin until September 2019 and I started eating fruits veggies and nuts. I am no longer taking insulin. The key is fruits and grains have fiber and that slows the rate of digestion.
Don't understand why people that make processed foods don't make their foods better since WE KNOW THIS NOW. Why would any human continue to do something that we now know hurts everyone in a direct way or indirect way? How do they sleep?
Lunesta.
In all seriousness, a lot of people just do not care about other people. Or the planet. One possible contributor to this is a recent discovery that people who take over-the-counter pain relief medications have less empathy for others. Considering that many people are given those as children, and continue to take them frequently as adults, this could be a real problem.

I noticed he didn't have the courage to mention the importance of breastfeeding of children on a generational scale. That would have changed some of those cheers to jeers. Otherwise an excellent presentation. We and our unborn children need real food.! And yes I realize that breastfeeding can be a problem for some mother's. Is it any surprise we are finding poisons in most of the baby formulas, that our causing many serious problems to our children. Convenient solutions can have devastating consequences. The bottem line is we our the solution to most of these problems by the choices we make. I reversed my diabetes only after I took responsibility for my own health.
Thanks Kevin. Nursing may not be easy---I definitely had some painful challenges. But is nursing supposed to be easy? I don't think so. It may just be too "easy" to go for the formula when the going gets tough rather than working through it.
@@christinebadostain6887 Vaccines are causing many of the chronic diseases. I did not hear him say anything about that. See Del Bigtree.
There is some fear mongering occurring and we should not be overly worried or concerned if we generally have healthy lifestyles.. We certainly should not tell our low or high weight birth children that they are predisposed to heart disease. All people who lack exercise and proper diet are predisposed to heart disease whether they get diabetes or not. We should be promoting healthy food to ALL of our kids no matter what their birth weight. The truth is, that if we believe we will get diseases and we fear them, we bring it into our lives. The mind is the most important instrument and is connected to the body. As we think so we are. If we think we are healthy, eat well, exercise, laugh, have meaningful relationships and activities and live with joy and with purpose following our passions we will out live most people. We are what we think we are. I’m not saying his studies are incorrect. I’m just saying there are other factors that can override them.
Positive thinking is supported by good health practices and vice versa. Unfortunately many people are in an information bubble, and they are not connecting the dots. What if you are a caring parent, but you are exposing yourself and your children to toxins that are causing chronic illness. Conditions like this weren't caused from negative thinking. Loving parents trust the doctor who gives vaccination, then the child suddenly gets very sick, and maybe develops autism. It is true that trials and tribulations can bring out the best in people though.
It's slightly ironic he recommends pregnant mothers eat fish 2-3 times a week. Mercury is a major factor in epigenetics. Despite the distorted data to downplay its significance, even the WHO recommend mothers minimise fish consumption.
small fish are ok, stay away large fish like tuna.
small fish has considerable less toxins in them then big fish. Then again, personally (!), I noticed a huge positive change in brain function by eating farmed salmon even though that is considered to be one of the most toxic foods in the world. I switched to fresh Herring and sardines for massive DHA (omega 3).
There are plenty of other sources of Omega3 than eating fish. :)
that is actually not correct. There is a vast difference between Omega 3 from plants and those from Fish (DHA). DHA is the only lipid that carries an extra electron which is the reason that animals and humans living in colder climates have fish as their main food source. Why ? because DHA is an electron replacement for a lack of sunlight.
Selenium binds to mercury so stop worrying.
Super Like .. Very great talk .. & very informative !!
Nice presentation until his diet recommendations. Yes, reducing sugar and processed grains is Paramount, but eating a lot of whole grains isn’t so wonderful, either. Carbs are carbs, even if they are digested more slowly. Also, there’s no health need to avoid meat absent a personal issue with it. Also, grass-fed dairy has heart protective effects.
Amazing !
The human lifespan has always been the same. The difference is that infant mortality has reduced and the dying process has slowed down.
What about babies that grow up to be seven feet tall? And normal weight for that height.

I really hate when a speaker doesn't state which type of diabetes they are talking about. They would only have to add two words (type one or type two) and it'd all be so much clearer.
hey said acquired implying type 2, which over time turns to type 1 via autoimmune
It does NOt matter here bec. he talks about the disease acquisition either since childhood or at adulthood.
Type one is not acquired through poor diet. So it’s pretty obvious
The good thing is changing our lifestyles, eating cleaner will help both types of diabetes & many illnesses, injuries, and diseases. It can actually eliminate many of them as well as helping our families.
Both types are from generations of malnourishment
point of correction Sir, i am seeing 1879 , but you said 1897. so i don't understand why.. may be because so time are tough still now. and not only that times were tough before the civil war...
The answer of what to eat is at 14:30. He is wrong in recommending pregnant women eating fish. Fish is the most contaminated food on the planted. Flax seed, chia seed, or walnuts will give them all the omega 3 they need.
Susan Kelley omega 3 = lipofuscin.
We are actually not living much longer than we were 100 years ago. A hundred years the bulk of premature deaths occured as the result of the labor intense workplace accidents. While men accounted for most of such accidents women also did labor intensive jobs that resulted in deaths due to workplace accidents. Most of the Founders, being wealthy men, lived to ages comparable to the number of years rich people live to today. Unfortunately one's status in life is indicative of how long one lives and most certainly the quality of life.

Babies of women who smoke 11-40 cigarettes a day are on average 435g (1 pound) lighter than non-smokers babies. They would have been exposed to a suite of toxins in utero, so possibly this the cause of subsequent health problems.
Stastics show that those mothers had smaller babies. 1 lb is a high percentage when discussing 6lb babies. When we were in the military I checked out a 1940's pregnancy book from KAFB. It said you could do what you want because placenta protected baby!! My mil was given speed in 60's to keep babies birth weight low.
I would think that if the mother is reasonably healthy even if she smokes, then the baby would be healthy.
Amazing
Awesome lecture, only one error: Not consuming animal products is also one of the factors that cause disease for many and emotional and physiological problems for children and adults. I work with families world wide and find that most children must consume cholesterol and other animal food nutrients that the body is often not able to extract from plants. Three times a week fish for pregnant women is not enough, either. Even many adults are not able to extract protein from plant food no matter how well combined, because of the plant toxins (lectins, phytic-acid, calicylates and more.) Grains and legumes, even sprouted, can be harmful for many as they are even more full of these toxins (to protect themselves from getting eaten as they are the seed itself). When sprouted to eliminate those, not only the elimination is not total, but the process give rise to other unwanted toxins. So with all due respect, Dr. Kent, I invite you to add to your teaching a touch of flexibility about diet. Teach to eat, whole, real organic food, with no list of ingredients. Which whole organic food? Let each person find what is best for them and for their children.
Yep. He proposed a vegan diet, with that minor exception for pregnant women. And he mentioned "whole grains", as if modern wheat were benign, rather than the cause of leaky gut and numerous other conditions of modern civilization. See Wheat Belly & Grain Brain, two excellent well-researched books that document the modern epidemiological experiment that is modern agriculture.
This title is misleading. I was expecting to really understand epigenetics and how food modify’s genes.
yorocco1 ted talks focus on educating an audience enough to help changing policy. In your case you need proper lectures from educational institutions
You can look at talks of Rhonda Patrick or dr. Ben Lynch
Chronic stress is the number 1 cause of premature death and chronic disease.
No mention of vaccines?
Back in Genesis (Bible)...God once put a limit on how long mankind could live. Adam lived well into 900+ years. Then God degreed that mankind will not live beyond 120. He obviously knew the stress an aging population would put on the Planet, and life in general. But to know I could live to 120 would encourage me to take care of the body I have! Don't believe it? Look at how many people can live beyond 100 already? IT IS Possible. But NOT with the way our Food system is handled and the foods we are marketed into believing is good for us. We are hooked on Sugar and Flour, poisoned by the meat, and dairy. SO, yeah... don't think just being able to live to 80 is some big deal. WE could easily go beyond that. And ask me what I would like to do with another 40 years??? LIVE!
so God didn't take the stress of an aging population into account when he let Adam live to 900+? I doubt that's the reason.
Some interesting facts and figures in this talk. Agree re the processed foods. Don't agree with his very high carb diet, especially the fruits and whole grains that are way too high in sugar for diabetics.
I understand and it is true, however the price of medicine is outrageous...
Catherine Martinia "Medicine"? "Medicine" or perscription drugs is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.
And it’s “man” that puts a price on everything. We come into this world owning and owing nothing. It is the human that has put a price on everything, land, housing, medicines, food etc...think about why an aspirin would cost $200.00 in a U.S. hospital and $20.00 in a Canadian hospital? Greed, power, and control...that like a cancer will kill its host. Which in our case is us humans and the environment.
Best reason every to "invest" in whole, plant-based foods...unprocessed or only mildly processed. It's the best insurance policy we can have so we don't become faced with those medical expenses.
So awesome!!😁
25years?
Could the bloated vaccine schedule for infants have an effect?
Nearly triple the doses since 1980s?
SSShhhhhhhh, or you will wake up the elephant in the room! Don't touch that sacred cow! Check out The true cost of autism with Del Bigtree. NEW
Scary thing but true
Why is this supposedly a talk about epigenetics when it barely mentions that?
Too much speculation. But still interesting.
What specifically?
I live in Portland, and am willing to volunteer.
What about the high mercury levels found in fish. Wild caught is better than farm raised fish that has parasites . That would transfer the Mercury to the the gestational baby. Rather take 3rd party lab tested omega threes and eat organic nuts , plants, some grass fed dairy, organic meats. Your own garden if you can.
