    The animations feel so fluid, and the graphics look so nice. I just hope my PC could run it at decently high settings like genshin to enjoy those aspects of the game as well.

    I think with this game being a roguelite and clearly more combat-focused than Genshin, hopefully it will actually have endgame and some amount of challenge. For me, endgame, challenge and compelling combat were the things missing from Genshin. I've had to just accept that they always meant for Genshin to be a more casual, exploration-heavy experience. I love its world and the music is amazing, but ultimately I need satisfying combat and challenges to overcome. ZZZ looks like it COULD offer me what I want. In the future, I think Wuthering Waves might actually have both the open-world exploration AND the kind of combat that I prefer.

      Genshin's main genre is single player rpg that focused on story, lore and exploration afterall. just like any other similar games (BotW, skyrim, the witcher, etc) the focus of the game, or the first "endgame", is to finish the main story (following the traveler's journey) and exploring every region, both of the story and the world are unfinished right now, so we just have to wait. You have to pay attention to the story to get the full experience, since its literally the focus of the game since the very beginning.
      seems like a lot of people didn't get this and think that combat, abyss, character building, meta stuffs, etc are the main focus of Genshin, which is wrong.

      @@Miraris we understand that but the game still requires everything to work smoothly for it to last. A good story isn’t going to carry a game if everything else is bad or subpar.
      And let’s not forgot how rushed Inazuma’s archon quest was. Barely any character development for units like Kokomi. The Liyue archon guest post Inazuma also felt rushed. If they’re going to make Genshin a story/character driven game, those things need to be near flawless which Genshin is hit or miss .

      @@Miraris Actually, many did, and the statistics shows this (Among AR 55+ players, only 30% even touch the Abyss, and 15% of those that do touch the Abyss have 36* the Abyss)
      The players demanding more Endgame are just the loud minority that was fueled by the even louder streamer community.

    I don't think it works very well to compare ZZZ with Genshin, because apart from Gacha they are not even the same game genre.
    Genshin Impact is an exploration-focused open-world RPG, while ZZZ appears to be a combat-focused Roguelike Fighting game.

      It may be a bit off to compare ZZZ with Genshin, but what's not impossible to compare is end game. While games may play completely different from one another, asking if there's anything late game/end game/post game to do, and how much you can invest in playtime after main events, is still very valid. What we can say is "Does [x] game have activities to do in between patches? Does [y] game have activities to do between patches? Can you pour playtime into it and shoot for meaningful goals that reward players in meaningful ways? And how much meaningful playtime can you squeeze out of it in one session? 15 minutes a day at end game? 30 minutes? An hour? Play all day?"
      Games can be compared to each other outside of the same genre when we're asking these kinds of questions. Taking the genres and gameplay and putting it to the side, I'd wager that comparing games on these kinds of things may even be more important.

    The game competes more with honkai than genshin mechanically, though I think they stand apart enough with Honkai being more story and level focused compared to zzz being a run based hub game that's probably gonna trade more eon hangout/slice of life stuff.

      They might be preparing the game that HI players will migrate to. HI's story is rumored to be at the final parts, so those who don't want to stay for the extra stories might gravitate to this.

      @@arselcrusader5600 Too early, we still dk if hoyoverse will cover the flamechaser story on the moon, the b4 and aftermath of that battle, and the other universe travellers aside from us, the captain of hyperion. There's also Kallen coming back and most likely every valk battlesuits achieving peak stigmata powers like Juan Kaslana.

It's been confirmed by mihoyo before that APHO 1 and 2 are sorta like beta tests for a Hi4 game but will include SAO-like interactions and gameplay in the Honkai Universe. we all thought it would be genshin impact but seeing that GI did not have jumping mechanics,I guess its still far from the future.

    You are the first youtuber I've found that was able to understand the differences in enemy types/their resistances and the characters that work on them. Bravo.
    Looks amazing, but the TV traversal feels like it was a cool creative idea that just doesn't translate to fun.

      Like imagine you had to do puzzles to find the correct tv for a fight and when you find it you instantly get to it, depending on your performance you either get a lot of the thingies that give you debuffs or 0 the better you do, the less you get (so you get rewarded for like doing correct type thingies and all) so it takes longer to get a rebuff you are really skilled. Just a concept I thought of

    If there's one thing I respect about Mihoyo, it's the commitment they have towards making all of their games stylistically and mechanically distinct. So if you can try each game out until you find one you like.
    My only gripe with Mihoyo is that all their games are live-service, meaning that it's impossible for most of us to keep up with every game at the same time -- but more importantly, it also means that one day, when Mihoyo inevitably pulls the plug on a game, it's gone forever.
    My wish is when that day eventually comes, Mihoyo will release the game as a complete offline singleplayer experience, with no limited-time events, no resin/stamina mechanics, no daily login mechanics, reduced grinding (i.e. less RNG), and no gacha, with all characters and equipment obtainable from story quests or exploration. I wouldn't mind a $40 price tag, if that's what it takes. But I don't know if Mihoyo will actually do it...

      they only have three games released, GGZ, Honkai and Genshin, Star rail is a turn based game and ZZZ is basically another ACG like Honkai

    Well, this game has the 2 things I personally wanted most out of Genshin, Food being a buff for a good chunk of the day, not just short-term buffs or healing-items; and people that actually walk around, not just on the same line everyday for 2 years.
    There still is a lot to do before I say it's as good as Genshin, but it is pretty early in this games history.

      Damn, cant personally see how anyone is that excited over food buffs but sure if it makes you happy :D About the walking npcs sure, that does slightly help but like i doubt that we will spend that much time in the city. Personally i think it is going to be pretty much like Honkai, which i dont like at all... you spend 90% of your gameplay in menus and then you go for a 30second mission,no world exploration or stuff to collect, no puzzles no real open cool looking locations. I guess they will add some open zones after a while just like in Honkai but the game being instanced killed most of my excitement. Just like he said, most of the time you are just staring at a loading screen or menu.

      also just the moves in general (definetly saw some moonbeam and raven in there). but it would make sense since honkai only has one major update left, and while star rail will be its successor in terms of plot, the combat will be completely different. it's nice to know that the honkai players will have a new game to migrate to

    It's not closed beta it's way earlier, it's a technical test, that means they only test combat and technical stuff, but it's far from feature complete.

      I was telling same thing... Why all streamers and UA-camrs keep calling it beta, while it clearly not beta. Its tuning test yo get feedback about core of the game - combat system.... There is even people who already think this game is dead because there is no content.

      @@cripplingdepression213 Lol, just watch Chaostik review, the moment he said combat is too short/easy and that the game need more endgame modes, I know that he is one of those guys. Considering that the stages the testers have access to are only at early-mid game, of course it gonna be easy and short, Honkai is the same too. Also, If he want more difficulty, he can try maxing out corruptions(debuffs) on characters, something he probably didn't do b4 making the review.

    First off, great video. I watched Zyox's video and it had like no information in it so I really appreciated your breakdown. For me, the more I hear about everything surrounding the excellent artstyle, combat, music, and overall vibe, the more I get worried. Everything outside of the combat, which looks really fun and flashy, seems shallow and tedious. And the other concern is that the combat sections are short. I know its a beta, but I'm beginning to think this game may not be for me, and thats very saddening. Time will tell, and ill definitely at least try it.

    I'm looking forward to playing this game! Looks like Honkai Impact but with slightly different visuals, it's nice.
    Also, I wasnt watching most of genshin youtubers, and I dont know if this is recent or not, but I really like this "new" style of videos where you talk more naturally!

    I grew up playing jrpgs and I feel like this is the concept that mihoyo is trying to capture here. And these types of games r usually more story driven and linear, so I wonder what the final game will be like

    This game is so hype and ever sense the first trailer I told myself “I’m playing it” and now with the first beta, I’m like “I need it now!” Everything about the game just looks great and quite honestly looks more like a console game than a mobile game.
    Either way, I can’t wait to play it!

    They should make the "dungeons" like elysian realm where there's specific "rooms" for buff, rewards and etc that spawn randomly maybe elysian realm style of levels too like portal to go to other room or just straight up a dungeon like in rougelikes like enter the gungeon or soul knight where you can clear a room and immediately go to another room without loading screens and put random "stalls" for rewards and such

    Honestly, I'm glad ZZZ is completely different from Genshin, I still wish Genshin have an end-game content but I'm happy with the state of the game and content update.
    It sucks that there is barely any place where I can unleash my character's full potential that I have spent countless hours building but at the same time, Genshin offers something that no other gacha game does which is gorgeous open world with a lot of great character, story, quest, and interesting puzzle while other game like Honkai, PGR and probably ZZZ is focusing more on the end game with challenging bosses and combat encounter that you have to do daily/weekly but with very little noncombat content.
    I just come back to PGR because of NieR collab and I just finished an event, the last boss took me 3 hours to beat, (it is Flamel memory rescue event on stage 60) it was stupidly difficult and unforgiving to the new player and I fucking love it, it has recommended power level of 8000 and my best character only have 7.2k while the other 2 character which is the support is sitting at 6 and 5.6k, I'm sure for the whale who have 8k power on all 3 of their characters, they won't find it difficult but for the majority of player, they would have a hard time clearing the quest which is something we have never see in Genshin. (my account is lvl 96 right now and has about 5 months' worth of progression/f2p resource, (which is nothing compared to my almost 2 years of progression in Genshin so even if we get a challenging content I doubt I would find it as difficult but still). I would assume even F2P if they have played since launch, they would not have a problem in this event but for the majority of player they would not be able to clear all the stage and obtain all the reward, and yes the reward is actually quite substantial unlike in Genshin where the hardest difficulty in combat event (not abyss) usually doesn't give much if at all while easy and normal give the most)

    Being a main Honkai player, I'm pretty interested on how will ZZZ come out, and it is looking awesome already. Looks like they decided to steer back to combat mechanics after Genshin and HI4, which will be a turn based one, but they still made it so that it has it's own unique feeling to it. Sasuga MiHoYo. It's amazing to see this level of quality coming from what is essentially a mobile game dev studio

    As a hardcore genshin main i have to say, just by watching this video, this game already is a MASSIVE improvement. There is SO much life in this game. The graphics, the visuals, and pretty much even the tiniest of details like settings and npc activity. This is. A great sign for hoyoverse's future as a whole.

    I love rouge games, so it WILL be an essay, read if you're interested imo :D
    As a rouge like game it obviously doesn't have a strong open worldness on it's stages.
    Though from your description it seems like there's not enough restrictions on the path selection, lot's of rouge like games is challenging because you can't get everything and you have to choose, like slay the spire. I feel like a resource collection system works better than a debuff system, the better you do on a stage the more options are available to you instead of the more you take the less you do.
    If I try to fix the already existing mechanic I would make debuffs stronger and comes with getting etheriums as well. like in gungeon and revita where stronger items could cost health reduction, spawning harder enemies or just straight up deletes half of your core mechanic. This would limit player from collecting all of them and introduce some risk to that playstyle

    The gameplay is more similar to Honkai Impact than Genshin Impact with the QTEs and Perfect evasion. Even Billy's charged attack (?) is very much like Kiana's Knight Moonbeam's. That said can't wait to pick this up when it becomes available XD.

    The TV Puzzle bit kills the hype of the combat tbh, and I hope there will be more enemy in a single wave (10-ish enemies). The more enemy that's present, the more attack we might receive, the more often we can do swap combo (which is the most fun part)

    design wise it's giving honkai with the exploration feeling of genshin a bit. not a big fan of dialogues like this cause they remind me of otome games BUT i'm definitely looking forward to the release. looks super promising!

      there's no exploration, it's like playing Spiral Abyss but as an entire game basically, so far there's little variations in enemies or stages for the first few hours of the game that's available in the tuning test

      it all depends on the amount of enemies, stages and ether at the end because for sure every new event will have new stages, effects etc ... so the end game cannot lack content

    Outside the updates content, Genshin Impact endgame is a low bar my friend lol but ZZZ looks fun, if it comes out on console I’ll give it a try

      Genshin is dry lol, without farming, decorating teapot or doing abyss and events there is nothing to do except going on co-op

      There’s absolutely no reason to log in outside of maybe commissions if you care so much and grinding for artifacts is pointless because there’s little to no content that genuinely requires you to min max your characters so you’re just waistung all you’re resin just to have no real pay off

      The Endgame is where a user has reached the highest level and is transitioning from the basic day-to-day scaffolding mechanics to a new set of mechanics that only advanced level players can infinitely do.*
      For the most part the community accepts Spiral Abyss as the endgame for Genshin Impact. I'm assuming you haven't reached the Spiral Abyss yet otherwise you would've known that but once you do it's considered the hardest content in the game where you have to use various team compositions to successfully 36* the last few floors. Even if endgame content was boring, at least there's endgame content. I can't imagine a game with absolutely zero repeatable content at the end of it. Now THAT would be boring because there's absolutely zero reason to want to progress in the game. In the gaming world, endgame content is usually left for veteran players to work towards thus keeping the game somewhat interesting and continuously fun to come back to. Admittedly Genshin Impact's endgame is rather boring and doesn't repeat often thus the bar is pretty low hence the previous comments made by other people.

    i just wanna play this game because it look freaking sick. I really love action combat where the animations look awesome and powerful. the enemies look cool as well. The theming of the game also interests me.

    I'm definitively playing this game when it comes out, and I'm definitively maining Nicole and Miyabi, but really, unless the buffs and debuffs in the screens are so strategicaly crucial that you could spend 10 minutes thinking which one are you going to use, they are going to be a really hard time for a lot of players.

    This game looks super cool. I've been kinda wanting a Gacha game to pass the time, since I currently don't play any. I'm a huge fan of roguelikes, and making a gacha roguelike is kinda brilliant.

    And to think this is because a lot of people heavily loved the first time HI3 had a roguelike event which eventually spiralled into Elysian Realm which spiralled into Sim in HSR then to being its own game

    this is like a mix between honkai and persona series
    the fight fluidity, dodge mechanic, qte, is the hightlight of honkai impact, it's so much fun
    the animation style, color palette, ui, background, and exploration feels a lot similiar to persona, persona 5 to be precise

    Maybe i missed it, but i don't recall there being a co-op feature or multiplayer. Solo games can keep you entertained so far without social aspect. Problematic part being combat system that seems to shine the most , yet doesn't have any mode that would let combat-hungry playerbase truly enjoy it. That was virtually my biggest gripe with genshin. I wanted to progress trough combat, but when i reach resin cap in under half an hour ... it just drains whole fun out of the game. Gives that western kids game vibes of wizard 101 that would limit fun stuff to do per day.

    I really like the fluidity of combat.

      I think it will be similar to Honkai/PGR where there will be Whale bait, so to max your character it would cost so much but for F2P/low spender with enough grind will be able to reach almost the full potential so if you grind enough you will have 80-90% of the power of the whale which is cool compared to genshin where whale can do 2-3 times (or more) the damage of F2P

      it's actually worst, check chaotik's review of the game, basically you'll need copies to level up your characters and to upgrade constellations will cost resources

      In current test they made everything easily available which definitely wont be the case on the global release.
      The question is: How hard the maxing is going to be (and currently no one can truly answer this question)?

    thanks for the great summary video! i quite like some aspects of the style of ZZZ, but overall i don't think i'll be playing it. would love to have a future skin Genshin though! Star Rail and ZZZ don't quite look like what i'm looking for at the moment

    Wait, you can meet the playable characters while roaming the city streets? As seen at 2:22. That's like a gutpunch from Hoyo to it's Genshin playerbase.

      They add more occasion where playable can be seen on the world, like in gourmet supremos commission and in events. In story they make them follow you too now. Still very minimal but yeah an improvement based on feedback

      @@zenzenitha I would love to meet the playable characters outside of quests and events. I mean, some of them have jobs like Jean, Lisa or Xiangling. So why not place them at their designated areas and give them some dialogue. It doesn't even have to be dubbed. It would make the world much more lively

    the big part of rogue-like is trying out different combo of skills/weapon. i wonder how they gonna keep player engaged without making player feel the need to pull for character because they get bored

    If only this was a fully priced game. I’d rather buy this game to own and play offline rather than get a free to play game that’s a live service. Really wish this was a full game release on consoles.

    oh god damn it. When I first saw the trailer for this game I was actually pretty excited since it had some really good character designs and the animation was fricking gorgeous but then I realized Hoyoverse was working on it and immediately started getting worried. And this video proved all of my worries correct.

    Hoyo's attempt at an arpg Persona, it can be epic if they actually flesh out the hubs, sidequests are important, and a decent enough story. Or we just wait till Atlus makes their own version....

    There's no reason to believe there wouldn't be a resin system. But I had really hope there wouldn't be. I want to get into this, but it'll probably be a hard pass for me. I can't handle two of these energy systems at the same time.

    I'm fine with the elemental approach. It should be more common. The whole weakness/resistance thing with 10 or more elements sucks. It means just outright spending time in menus figuring out what is best, sometimes not even with an easy to swap loadout systems. Best example of a good use of that is Dark Souls. It can make some fights easier and it's usually pretty easy and logical to figure out what resistances you'll need, but most of the time you can get along with whatever is your preferred damage type/weapon/armor...
    Weakness/resistance is better approached in a trinity/quadratic manner like in this game. Sometimes even as a rock-paper-scissor (A beats B, B beats C, C beats A). That keeps it interesting but makes it faster to gauge stuff at a glance.

    0:45 Do you mean _do not_ pick the character you want to hear the majority of the dialogue from? Because from your description if you want to hear the guy talking you need to pick the girl, and I assume that means if you want to hear the girl talking you need to pick the guy.
