This bike is for more commuters looking for a versatile hybrid bike that’s can perform but still be street legal and low key. The Sur Ron I imagine is great as a electric off road dirt bike but would not be a suitable road commuter. So I think these bikes may be targeted towards two different types of riders unless your getting the Super73 RX Mojave. I currently have neither but I have plenty of experience on electric bikes and skateboards and I’m looking to upgrade this summer which is why I just watched your vid which thank u btw I do appreciate the content and review!

You know what’s really frustrating? When you have bikes with 750w motors flying by you up hills and you’re struggling or end up having to walk it up. If this motor really is 1200w and peaks at 2000w this thing should eat hills up!

@@GUY-on-Earth yeah but nobody want’s to do long commute’s on a bicycle seat. Plus at speeds 30/mph and above you want to be a little lower to the ground with fatter tires and dual suspension. While you can I’m sure get equal-ish suspension and brake’s on a mtb you want a beefier solid frame because that weight adds some stability at higher speeds. Honestly, the perfect commuter bike for me (6’3 200/lbs) is around 100/lbs or under and a top speed of at least 45/mph with enough torque to get up to speed without worrying about being super torquey but enough for a hill climb. My only concern with Sur Ron is they’re going to either ban them or make you register and pay *(insane insurance rates)* eventually because of all these young kids whipping through traffic like idiot’s. I’m a full on ebike supporter with *ZERO* hate… but these kids especially in California are just straight ruining it for themselves and everyone else. Eventually that 28/mph speed limit will be enforced via manufacturing. I want something quicker than a moped with slightly higher top speed but I don’t want/need e-motorcycle speeds. If they just put dual motor’s in the Super73 like the Grizzly I could deal with 34/mph top speed

People get so defensive when you talk about a bike they own, cult if you will. Most if not all the videos I’ve seen has shown the motor lacks torque. Even a 750w lectric folding bike can make it up a hill better. What they need to understand is that these are Chinese rebranded e-bikes with the cheapest parts they can get away with and price mark up by a lot. I’m getting the same bike for $1400 with a 1500w motor. Not here yet so we’ll see how they are.

Super73 doesn’t advertise it as a off-road bike at all. Anywhere. You might think they are because of the suspension and looks but everything they’ve advertised is as a street bike w/light bike trail capabilities. The suspension was added for more comfort while street cruising, especially in the bigger cities with crappy roads like Boston.

If you care about pure torque off a stop definitely a Ariel Rider is going to be better. Super 73 is meant to be a more chill commuter that looks cool and has some range. It’s not going to be some off road demon, you were uninformed if you expected that. The RX just has rear suspension and some extra features/dirt bike style. The S2 is the better bike for the money imo. It looks better quality to me in terms of components and build compared to Ariel Rider imo.

If you set it to off road mode it will give you more power up hill. It lacks torque on the low end but I took mine on some Enduro trails and it handled the mud well. Definitely want to utilize the eco mode on flats over long distance. It's like you have to ride it a certain way to get the most out of it.

I don't think it's fair to compare this to a Surron. The Surron will straight out cook this thing and burn it. I think the best comparison when it comes to its category is the exact clones of the Super73 models. Like the Akez and Ghostcat bikes. Those things cost 1/4 of the price of every Super73 but with like 7-10 more features that the Super73 doesn't even have, I mean why the hell do people even buy this thing? Super73 made this thinking they could make so much profit and they thought that people would have no choice since they had no competition. Then comes the clones. You can call them what you want, because hands down, those things are so much better.
After watching hundreds of videos for the last month (anxiety I had cause I can't wait for mine to arrive) These are the things I noticed that the clones have and the Super73 bikes don't. P.S When I saw your tiny bell as your horn, I wanted to cry feeling sorry for those who have those bikes.

I almost bought an S73 RX but I went for Ariel Rider X-Class instead after test driving both. I just find Ariel Rider to be more superb. For me, Super73 is like the equivalent to Boosted Boards’ hype. Started out in some garage back in March 2016 by a group of 4 DIY-ers, modeled after a Taco Mini bike and then in a month or two, were already found on Kickstarter. They definitely got their marketing and promo campaign correct and at the ‘sweet-spot’ time before the whole ebike motorcycle style market got saturated. From celebrities to social media influencers to tech UA-camrs. A lot of money were thrown in to make it happen, but they succeeded. Now they have a huge following and city ‘squads’ all over the globe, and is pretty much considered the Apple of E-bikes

True. But after riding the rx off road, it’s definitely a scary bike to take off road. Why put shiny dnm suspension on if it’s too stiff for off road use? The springs they used were too stiff - 325lb weight limit explains that. Not sure who they were trying to target. But the hill climb thing is a bust. We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

First honest review I've seen on the Super73. These bikes are by far the coolest looking, and their marketing through social media influencers and celebrities is extremely effective. However, it is way over priced for a cheap Chinese ebike. For the same money, you can buy a Ruff Cyles Lil Buddy with a Bosch mid drive motor, powder coated steel frame, and real German quality.

THANK YOU!!! finally! An honest review! Not a bias Super73 fanboy review. And I agree. It is not an off-road bike. So many videos showing the frame crack after going off-road. It is definitely overpriced for its weak motor as well. Yeah yeah all you fanboys will say, you can mod it and make it go faster blah blah blah, but then how much more are you spending? So why am I paying so much to begin with so I can pay some more to make it go faster?

I have a 500 watts motor on my Rize Bikes and it can do jumps on my neighborhood mtb trails. And it’s only 2T canadian. Somethings wrong with that Super73 dude.
