Thank you for making this video! I've been reviewing both models (without test riding of course) and came to the same conclusion as you. It's not worth the extra $800 for the minor differences. Great to see you actually riding them and sharing your thoughts on the differences. I'll be ordering the S2. Thank you!
The R or RX is easily worth the difference over the S2 because even on the road the suspension makes it a lot more comfortable and smooth to ride. A lot of streets and sidewalks and bike paths can be quite rough with a lot of chuckholes that can be dangerous without the suspension. The bike to get is the R.
If you are over 30... even on pavement, you will NEED the suspension in the rear... these things are too fun, you want to ride for hours, almost everyday, my back is very thankful I got the RX, the R is good too but the suspension is more easily adjustable on the RX... plus amenities like lights and a horn are useful in traffic...
I bought the Z1 back when they were on sale for $1k. Seemed like a good deal and a nice entry into the class 2 ebike segment. I figure if I liked it, there was a large modding community to upgrade the controller, battery, forks, etc. I kind of wish I just bought the R (not RX) but that's about a $2k difference. Also I live on a 3rd floor apartment, so carrying a 50lb Z1 up/down stairs is much easier than an 80lb R... Would love a Sur Ron or an Onyx RCR but seems like those are cop magnets. All relative I guess.
I have the RX but I think the S2 headlight looks Cooler it gives me that old school motorcycle vibe look. I hope they come out with a bigger battery in the near future not a fan of the dual battery look plus I’m not sure if that Voids the warranty. I use it to go to the gym daily so for me it’s perfect.
The foot forward pedals is designed to give more proper knee extension when pedaling with these types of ebikes when there is no seat height adjustment. My beach cruiser is the same but your right that it makes it very awkward to stand up and pedal.Puts you right at the bars.
Next week i should get my RX ... I take the RX because ur Pictures out the wood looks pretty funny. Thanks for your great Video. I hope its 4599€ worth. In Germany its much more expensive.
My question is if the battery dies on you, can you still pedal? Since there’s not gears? At least the bike shop near me said that. I’m looking at getting one. I’ll be using it for street, and trails. So the RX seems more my fit.
Ever since I had my gasoline scooter I cant get used to riding the bike lanes on a hardtail... I wonder if the RX rear suspension comes anything close to a 50cc rear shock? I would only consider the S2 if the RX sus is garbage or have serious issues...
I’m torn right now because I’ve seen you can get the R for the same price as the s2 and it’s just a few hundred more for the rx. How dated or how much of a downgrade is the s1? I’ve seen those and the zx for the same price. I’m not looking to buy one of these for commuting but as a fun weekend thing, wanna blast around some trails and do a little bit more off road trail stuff.
The S2 looks a lot better, neither is off road capable really so I don’t really understand why the RX exists beyond a more comfortable suspension on rough terrain.
or with the extra 800 go buy another battery and a slightly beefyer controller that has a better power range with longer 2000w output becuse the 2000w on that bike is like only 10-15seconds at most then the power drops to like 750w-1000w. with diffrent controller you could get like 3-4000w peak and 2000w contioust witch would make it have the power to climb the hills better. but if you did that you would defiitly need to add a second battery witch with like $720 you could almost double the range and have a fun time
@@dylannathaniel5640 idk its been year + since i posted this but in my opinion now save the 800 get the one with no suspension take the 800 you saved and buy second battery and a higher output controller. As by the time the suspension is not worth 800 even if your taking it off roading you would be better off just spending the cash on more continuous power / if you rly wanted just up the total voltage of the bike with second battery of same ah as first or dual bat more amps
I had the same thoughts in terms of a GROM over this but it depends on what you're gonna use it for. You also have to consider the ongoing cost of insurance and fuel. I also imagine maintenance on the RX would be a bit cheaper and not as frequent as the GROM. Just my 2 cents...
True, but good luck getting away with taking a Grom into a park or onto the sidewalk without getting the cops getting called on you. The legal gray area for ebikes is one of the big benefits imo
@@shoakman true but that is a different subject. These should be 1/3rd the price and should be more versatile. If they are 2WD, 2 Passenger, $1200 they would be a viable option.
It kills me when guys ride bikes and never pedal. If you want a motorcycle, get one. Yes, you must pedal to get up just about any hill on an ebike. That's the whole point. If you don't have pedals, buy the insurance, the license, the registration, etc. to the tune of $3k extra a year. Then buy a friggin' motorcycle, because you might as well.
How do you find your s1? I’m looking at buying an ebike. I grew up on ATVs and DirtBikes but don’t have the space or time to leave the city to drive so ebikes seem to speak to my weekend warrior passion lol. I’ve been looking at the s1, zx, for their price as well as the r and s2 but I have a hard time justifying $4600cdn for a bike when I could buy an atv for similar money the s1 and zx are on sale in my area for $3000cdn so just make more sense to me. Appreciate any tips you have on the s1 I plan to blast around trails and some of the more dirt trails around the dog parks and new construction areas
@@BengieM I agree. I tried to look at it objectively but the Ariel Rider just looks like it was slapped together with a bunch of parts and not well thought out. Looks more like what a food delivery guy would use.

SUPER73-RX is much faster then any any motorcycle including 2020 Yamaha YZF-R1M! Remember you what keep speed close to 20 mph! Super73 RX goes to 19.35 mph? It is perfect for the speedier inside you! Dangerous? Pfft coming from riding road bikes, with those tires thot pot holes are no problem.
@@pocho3881 Road bikes on the street and trails are dangerous IMO. I had a bad crash on my $5K road bike. They are made for smooth roads.
Damn right!
1000% I had the S2 for a couple weeks and returned it for the RX. VERY glad I did.

The S2 is just so much better looking than all the bikes of the entire super73 line! It’s gorgeous! Cafe - racer vibe 😍

The “R” is the better buy! Full suspension and lighter than the RX 💯
But the r has no headlight :(
Cant wait until Evan gets a chance to review the Sondors bike when it comes out
It’s been moooonths and I haven’t seen one review yet!
wish this channel did more ebike reviews, im curious to know what he thinks of the Griz. love this guys way of presenting.
Get the Griz. Way better
@@evanleemiller right on. Thanks for your opinion!
I heard we are getting a 20% Torque this year for S2 and Rx
Loved the video!
I have decided I will buy both of them😀
A year on , how are they both mate?
I’m currently saving for the S2 but so far away lol , what would you recommend???
Should get the GForce ZM, cheaper than them both, and better in many ways in my opinion and soo many others! 🤘😎🔥💯
Just ordered a 73 r. So excited
i'd get the RX, i know the 800 is alot.. but it would make the experience MUCH more enjoyable.
Great presentation. I do want one but getting it service is a strong issue for me.
I live in a city where the roads are all cobblestone. Would the rx be worth it for that rear suspension for those bumpy roads?
cobblestone without suspension ? yikes !
thank you this is what i wanted to know, it looks like a dirtbike so iwondered what it could handle offroad
My S2 should be here Friday 😎👍 video to follow 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
yes, there are legal issues removing the pedals.

Lawlz
Decided to get the S2, r and Rx have more features but not worth hundreds for rear suspension that barely makes a difference.
The S2 costs 4.044,10 USD here in germany (3.390,00 €)
yes its as expensive as a good speed pedelec so its actually a pretty dumb thing to buy other than if u want it just for the looks

I’m looking at getting one. I’ll be using it for street, and trails. So the RX seems more my fit.
Without power this bike is about useless.
Man thx, my neighbor wants to sell his for $1000 it’s as good as mines thanks to you😉
I have both _ wish I bought two RXs
Love it!!! Thank you!!!!
Can 2 people ride the s2?
Try PEDALING when the going get's steep, as opposed to "frog legging". That's what they're there for.
Those overalls though!!!! FTW
Well done, sir... well done.
Hey man, odd question, what gloves are you wearing in the riding section?

Very big crassula ovata (jade tree) 🌳

Great video…
2000 watts isn't enough to get it up hills? That's disappointing.
It would have to be geared lower for that to be enough. San Francisco area has some very steep hills.
Rx went up on price..
why dont they fill that huge empty space in the frame w a huge battery pack?
The battery is enough for its purpose. Bigger is heavier and more expensive.
They have to bump the price by a grand more, that will price themselves out of the market.
That’s what makes them great, open canvas.

it comes in handy when boondocking
my issue with the S2 is the lack of suspension
You mentioned more power! Well I like having the torque and power for trails.
So I guess Super73 is not for me then ?
If you really want to hit the dirt this bike isn’t for you.

So the rear suspension isn't worth it?
That is GROM money! To much money, not enough capability. Needs to be 2 passenger capable, and should be 2WD.

SUPER73-S2 HUDSON BLUE please damn, its so sexy
Super73 should make the RX with the Hudson Blue frame and seat color. I’d buy that
Can a 250lb care bear ride the S2 to pick up tacos without it collapsing !?
