Got rid of an old pickup and I just bought a Rev 1 bike seemed like everything I was looking for and it’s a little cheaper plus there’s incentive of 30% you’ll get back for getting one so it seemed fair to me still waiting to get it but excited
Would love to hear your thoughts on app-based or "smart" products. For example, with the Super 73 it seems as if you need to use the app to fine-tune settings or do software updates. If your phone dies, the app becomes unsupported, the company goes out of business, etc you essentially lose access to stuff. As a consumer, how can one be comfortable buying a $3500 bike with the fear of the software/support becoming unsupported or unavailable some day? I worry less about things like an iPhone, as its from a long standing company. There's soooo many small companies out there making things that revolve around apps and software now its crazy.
That is why you update the controller for only 50 bucks if that ever happens, dont worry to much about these things in life otherwise you cant enjoy them.

I would say these are e-bikes. I had an actual moped in the early 90s and it went 45 mph. People think the Sur ron is fast because it goes 45 -47 mph. I was confused when I heard that. I have a few e-bikes Ariel Rider X Class/Mototec/Crew Dart) and they are fast for bikes, but slow for mopeds.
Comparing these two mopeds doesn't sound right. The pedal part for mopeds is just to get them going. They're essentially a gas scooter with the ultra low power engine with using the pedals to get it moving from a dead stop. These e-bikes have plenty of torque to get them moving from a stop. So the pedal is just there for legality it seems. And I guess the moped is allowed to go faster than a class 3 e-bike.
You also forgot that 90s honda is a fucking pollution machine and also registration, gas, repairs. Its a whole thing dude. I have both a car and ebike and use my ebike to do small things my car would always do
Downside is transporting on vehicle. Due to the weight you need another type of bike rack that can work with ebikes. Most traditional style bike racks don't work and there's really not a whole lot on the market for ebikes. Need the ones that mount on a tow hitch and can handle the weight.
Many bike racks can easily handle 80lbs of weight if they’re hooked up through a trailer hitch. I had three heavy 25-30lb mountain bikes on the back of my blazer’s bike rack and it worked great

I am looking at getting one line yours but live on top of a pretty steep and long hill and don’t want to walk the bike up every time I ride it. As a Dutch guy (we bike from a young age..) i always find it strange that you guys are ok with 40 miles battery’s on 5000 bucks e bikes😂 thats like the smallest battery on the cheapest 1000 bucks ebikes here! Lets say a decent gazelle or Batavus e-bike here for around 2000 bucks comes with atleast a 100 miles plus battery! Also the parts on bikes like this are actually super cheap part! You pay 3000 bucks for a brand name which is insane! I understand people like the looks! But from a Dutch standard.. these are cheaply made bikes sold for way way way to much money!
Compared to the multitude of readily available "knock-offs", the 73 is waaay over priced. I love my AKEZ. Half the price. Dual batteries and suspension. Get Real.
So you've had it for months and didn't buy a faster charger? I have a variable speed faster charger and it was worth $100 I spent even though I paid extra for all the adaptors. I don't charge faster than 4.5hrs unless I'm trying to get back rolling quickly and every 3-6 months I do a slow 1amp charge to full.

This bike with a simple motor/battery upgrade does low 50’s mph . Buddy just did the 72 volt kit for the super 73 RX crazy power increase . Pulls the front tire if you want ton of torque for a hub motor
The cost of this simple 72 volt kit plus the new upgraded battery cost over $3000. On top of what you've already paid for the Super 73's that's like over $7000 just to make an ebike go faster and that makes no sense to me. Just go out and buy a motorcycle for that price to achieve all the speed you need.
You can find one over $6000 easily you ever rode an ebike at all? 45 + can be pretty scary and dangerous 28 mph feels like u are flying on a bicycle it’s weird lol
These suck! Software, motors, batteries, drive trains all fail! I work in a shop. All ebikes suck. Especially stupid 73. The environmental footprint of ebikes is huge! Hike up your skirts, help the environment and get a real bike. You get zero fitness from ebikes as well!
Usually it’s just motor failure on these. Super73 will take care of the issue even if you’re out of warranty. You can easily use these to excerise depending on your PAS level.
They look so nice but I just wish for more in the power department. Some of these other ebikes that are coming out blows these guys out of the water in that area. Ariel and biktrix to be more specific. Come on 73 give us what we want.
Helps out decent amount compared to a bike with no suspension. Rear shock is very stiff factory 500 lb spring . Swaping out to a 400 lb even 300 lb spring in rear makes rife even more smooth
I have one and I offroaded it, and it's pretty rough. You definitely need a softer spring, Super73 fitted the same type of shock you get on a Sur-Ron but with a 550 lb spring. I weigh about 187 lbs and it's not soft enough.

Yup, S73's suck going uphill. Try an Ariel Rider 52v X-Class or their Grizzly. More power and less $ than S73's.

You should give the Juiced "Hyper" bikes a try. Very specifically the HyperScrambler 2 is loads better than anything from S73.
Same with Ariel Rider ebikes, lol. Way better value than any S73 imo.
