I got a chance to play Next Evolution already, and I honestly think Domino is an elite hero in the game, one of the very best. There’s so much synergy, she does everything and is also super fun to play. Important to note Pip the Pug doesn’t just put a card back in your deck, it puts it on top so you can set her discard abilities up. I put her on the same level of Captain America, where she’s just super strong in every aspect but doesn’t lose the fun to play like Strange did. Outlaw might be one of the best signature ally out there, a free block then a bunch of damage? Cable is strong but vanilla, he becomes a runaway train as the game goes but can be slow to get started. He’s very good, he pumps out damage and thwart in the mid to late game I’m most excited about X-23, I think you’re going to be surprised with her. I don’t think she’s going to flounder when she isn’t set up, I think she does totally fine before she’s built out (even very well until then) and then when you do have those turns of being set up she just goes insane. She’ll be one of those heroes where you’ll look at your cards and board state and be like, “oh, I can clear 5 threat and deal 15 damage this turn”. I do think it will be a trap to try to play Game Time and stuff to ready Honey Badger a lot, like how I think it’s a trap to try to play Sorcerer Supreme and stuff with Rogue. I think Protection is her best aspect, but assume Justice will be it in solo, packing some confuse really let’s you utilize her big recover, and it’s easier for her to use it too since she can do something, take a damage to ready with something like her resource card, flip and recover, come back next turn to do a couple more things. I think you’ll be really surprised by her, I can’t wait for her to come out.
Honestly I’m excited to be wrong about X-23. I enjoy being wrong about heroes that I thought wouldn’t be good but turn out to be great (see SP//dr haha)
@@D20Woodworking Also I’ve been asking around, you know the rules well. Playing a defense card means your hero is considered to be defending. Lucky and Good is an upgrade with the defense trait that you exhaust to use. I made a Domino protection deck, and just wanted to make sure I got this right. If I don’t exhaust Domino to defend but she has a tough status, by just using that card on any attack to get a new boost card considers me to have defended, so if I don’t take damage due to a tough status or playing Deflection I would still get to trigger my Hard to Ignore and Unflappable?
That is correct. Any card with that trait that is used (and mostly it's from events but yeah this upgrade card would work) you are now considered defending and are the defender. The tough would stop you taking any damage (assuming no piercing) and then yeah, you can trigger hard to ignore and unflappable. So yeah as long as I am understanding you right, yeah you're good!
@@D20Woodworking Yeah, that’s what I was saying. I actually enjoyed Deflection with her, especially since she has cards that can give you benefits for milling them off your deck. I don’t know if it’s on Hall of Heroes, it’s blocked by the work firewall, but there’s a resource card in the box that provides a wild resource and if it gets discarded from the top of your deck you put it in your hand. That’s the card that pulled so much weight for her, especially being able to put it onto your deck with her hero ability knowing you’ll get the card back when you trigger an effect.
I am so excited for Cable, because I like heroes that build and get stronger as the game progresses. I think I've built 9 million practice decks in each aspect for him already. haha
After taking them through the first 2 scenarios of the campaign, I can say Cable is in fact straightforward and solid, though actually less effective multiplayer due to the extra threat needed to finish off the side schemes. Domino, however, is amazing. Figuring out how to sequence her turn to maximize damage is so much fun, especially once her kit is out.
On FFG's youtube page they posted a playthrough of Juggernaut's scenario with Domino, Psylocke, and Cable's promo cards. They mentioned this would be the last time they did the blind packs and will go back to the old promo model in the future. For ranking mine would be 6. Deadpool. I like him but he is best in small doses and he is over exposed at the moment. Plus not as into high risk high reward gameplay or rush decks 5. Cable. I like him and he will like switch out with Dr Strange as my hero who helps out with scenarios that are too hard. Either because of bad balancing or I am trying to tweak the difficulty so pairing them up with another hero (I play dual handed) can help balance the difficulty 4.Angel. I love the triple sided cards and an really glad they are expanding the arial trait usefulness 3.Psylocke. I really like all her status attacks and her psy weapons look fun 2. X-23. I think a Honey Badger Voltron deck seems to play really fun and should help motivate me to play a protection deck which should help with readies and mitigate her damaging herself. Plus since I play double it is easier for me to account for her damage, but she is definitely getting the lunch break card for the extra REC. 1. Domino. They just did an amazing job expressing luck through gameplay and she looks to be a fun chaotic hero
I’m really excited for Angel. Dive bomb is my favorite card in the game and to basically have honed techniques effect on his archangel side sold me on him instantly.
More than any other hero, I am 100% ready to put in as much work to make X-23 sing as necessary. She's my favorite comic character ever, she gets all the special treatment. That being said? I honestly don't think it'll be hard, she seems versatile and fast, and I like both those things.
Really excited to watch you play Domino! I got the box a bit early and have been having a ball with her and I think you will too. Been using a Global Logistics Justice build and without spoiling anything just works really well . The amount of options you have each turn is crazy.
My number 1 and 2 are the same as yours, though they are tied for me as to who I'm most excited for. Domino is gonna be nuts, but i really like the idea of the psi weapons. Starting with 2 resource generators, specifically with fist and mental resources is gonna be good for a lot of builds. And the confuse lock float strat is something I'm looking forward to as well
Full disclosure I’ve had NeXt Rev since Monday. No spoilers but it’s a lovely new expansion. Not the worst, not the best. I reserve further commentary until after official release. I have hopes that X-23/ Honet Badger will be like Vision/Vivian. Deadpool is for players who insist on adding the Power Gauntlet to every deck I’m not a fan of fold-outs with Wasp/Antman. I don’t know if Angel will change my mind Psylocke because mystics rule. She along with Domino are the two I want to shine Overall there are things I like and some things I really dislike. As with most expansions lately we won’t get to see the whole picture until everything is released.
I was able to get the campaign box early I think because the game store I went to didn’t know normally they’re pretty strict with their release date. However, after playing domino and cable pre-con through the campaign, domino was way more fun than cable. And the player side schemes were not as OP as you might think because when you have problems on the board you don’t have time to deal with those. But that was a precon decks.
Yeah, I think my plan for Cable would be to bring 4 or 5 player side schemes max in his deck ....because I actually doubt he would get more than that in the Victory Display before either winning or getting killed.
I am cheating a bit because even though I own everything and I am going to buy this cycle I play on tabletop simulator and there is Angel, Cable and Domino in full over there, so without spoiling specifics, my list of those 3 in order: - Angel is really strong and fun, there is quite a bit of decision making involved, he doesn't play on auto, probably favourite of those 3, I played mostly in aggression, he if really fun there, in Justice he is meh in solo because he simply has too much threat removal (when you would like to deal some damage), aggro is probably his best aspect for solo - Domino is fun even if bit random, my top score is 11 cards discarded in single turn (and I hit 3 jackpots), with bit of luck you can do more than that, I play more conservative on my first cycle through deck as she has quite a few good upgrades you don't want to miss, then you can go crazy - Cable is my least favourite out of those 3, I was afraid he will be bit too slow, but actually side schemes help him with getting key cards out, so it's OK, he is a bit of autoplay character, still pretty OK and I enjoyed playing him
Nooooo 😭 Cable cannot be your least favorite X-Force hero: he comes packed with really original new mechanics... and muscles! Also, I'm pretty far from thinking X-23 is gonna be weak. Actually, I feel pretty confident about all heroes form this cycle being above average strength level. BYW: in Spain it is already on the stores!

Question now is: Where did these land now that we've played with them?
My list: X-23 > Domino > Deadpool > Cable > Angel > Psylocke
X-23, Cable, Deadpool, Iron Fist, Silver Surfer, Ghost Rider…oops, dreamwishing there for a sec…Domino, Psylocke and Angel last.
