    This is well done, my only feedback would be putting chapters in the video. I'm not sure if it's possible to do that retroactively, but as the video has discrete segments in it, chapters would allow a player to quickly reference a section they don't remember, or easily find parts relevant to them.

    • @4rtie
      @4rtie Рік тому +10

      iirc all they'd have to do to retroactively add chapters is put the segments with timestamps in the description

    This is brilliant, well done to the team. It's SO hard to create an intro that is both simple *and* not misleading. Clearly this script was painstakingly crafted. I wish I'd had this when I started playing! I also want to call out the fabulous Spellslingers series that Day[9] hosted, which is still among the best beginner intros around, and would be a great follow-on from this.

    When I was young I played Yu-Gi-Oh! (I didn't know about Magic), and now in my 30s I went back to see how it was going and I didn't like what I saw, so I took a look at Magic and I really liked it, and everything around the game, and the community is awesome.

    This is probably THE best directions I have ever watched about a card game. Simple and broken down to the bones. My wife got me the foundations bundle box with numerous themes to put together. It also has a colorwheel so I know which themes oppose and combine with eachother. I combined the blue wizard theme and a black vampire theme together (20 cards per theme). Wow…did that work wonders. The wizard card that can summon a 1/1 creature with a 2nd card draw in a turn. Then I use that card to block my opponent. When my creature dies, I gain one life and my opponent loses a life because I had a vampire bloodwitch. I know from pop culture how vampires and witches/sorcerors help eachother, but that applies to MTG too! 🎉

    Starting card types by separating them into Land and everything else is a great point. While the word "spell" is everywhere on the text, new player might not understand what it is because it's not on the card types.

    At the end of the video how are you using icy manipulator if it’s your opponents turn? And if you did it before on your turn once it’s your opponents turn can he just have it go back to untapped

  • @bitteroldwizard
    @bitteroldwizard 21 день тому

    The only question I have is that last play. I thought to attack the cards needed to be tapped. The 4 attackers looked untapped. My next question is, does icy manipulator switch the cards from tapped to untapped and vise versa? If so, then the attackers, once icy manipulator is used and cards on the tapped/attack position, would untap one of them. Here the display looks reversed. It just confused me.
