I'm crossing my fingers for a grass/fairy type final stage considering it's description has to do with it using its power to resolve conflicts relatively peacefully like Sylveon.
I was hoping fairy too, but a well known leaker who does riddles is seeming to imply that Sprigattito is going to be a dark type (and then Fire/ghost and Water/Fighting). While I swore up and down that I was going to pick kitty, I'll be very tempted to use a water/fighting type.
I feel that the last point of the final evolution, reaching the aesthetic core, is probably the reason I wasn't a fan of the Galarian starters as Scorebunny and Grookey basically reach there core almost immediately, one of them is a football/soccer player, the other plays the drums
I actually have the opposite opinion lol. Scorbunny had my favorite evolutionary line BECAUSE it had a consistent theme - energetic soccer kid, to aloof soccer teen, to confident soccer champion. He never really did anything disappointing or weird. Meanwhile, as much as I love Samurotts design, who the frick decided that having a tiny white bipedal otter evolve into a enormous dark blue armored quadruped samurai sea lion made any sense. And then there was the world famous Litten incident, which upset so many people not just because they disliked Inciniroar's design, but because it came on the heels of two adorable and cool Pokemon who were already heading a certain direction before taking the bizarre whiplash detour into "furry bait wrestler idk"
Ah, if only your theory on the final evo were the reality. It feels like they fully drop the Aromatherapy-esque theme for the rest of the line, in favor of masquerade hero/villain vibes. It would've been interesting, at least in my opinion, if Sprigatito was another attempt at Chikorita's gimmick, in cat form this time.

I initially did not like Meowscarada, but only because I thought it didn't have ears. Then I realized, upon evolving it, that it does have ear, but they're just pinned down. Still kept the nickname Lil Jon. Lol
The green cat is my favorite exactly because it is simple, the other designs are too weird or too tryhardish, and that has been happening with all the new gens. i just think a more simple disign is even better. just look at the first gen pokemon. all basic aaand we love them.
Hm, if Gamefreak is aware of the Weed Cat connection, I wonder if the bit about it being an attention seeker that sulks if you focus on other pokemon too much is supposed to be an allusion to addiction. That aside, Weed Cat is about as "simple" as Litten, so I figure that's to be expected from a cat of a different element.

I love sprigatito, and reminds of me my cats eating leaves in the garden 🥺
*My bet for its evolution is a lion with its mane made out of foliage*
GameFreak: aight time to ignore community ideas and slap it with sum two legged cat
I love the fact that you're so wrong about the evolution
You know this short is from 2022, right?
I feel like this Pokemon might go onto two legs and become Grass / Water instead. Business man cat that rubs his hands together to convince them to make a deal?
@Superior Jango antisemitism in a tbskyen comment section???
Would be weird but cool for the starter Pokémon this gen to end up dual-starter-typed.
@@timothymclean
Have seen that suggestion before and kind of want it to go all three ways.
Grass/water, water/fire, fire/grass
I'm crossing my fingers for a grass/fairy type final stage considering it's description has to do with it using its power to resolve conflicts relatively peacefully like Sylveon.
nah, lion with a grass machinegun on his back is the best way to solve conflicts
I was hoping fairy too, but a well known leaker who does riddles is seeming to imply that Sprigattito is going to be a dark type (and then Fire/ghost and Water/Fighting). While I swore up and down that I was going to pick kitty, I'll be very tempted to use a water/fighting type.
@@calicokity1 Another dark type cat 😟? And they just Did a fire/ghost type... Guess it'll be Quaxly the DuckMarine for me to (´ . .̫ . `)
Plus this lil' dude has... Red eyes... Mmhh..
I hope Sprigatito follows the Extinct Animals line and evolve into a Saber Tooth
"Only be around for 16 levels"
.. just for that im giving mine an everstone
if i had the game, i would do the same
Its collar even looks like weed
I feel that the last point of the final evolution, reaching the aesthetic core, is probably the reason I wasn't a fan of the Galarian starters as Scorebunny and Grookey basically reach there core almost immediately, one of them is a football/soccer player, the other plays the drums
Meanwhile sobble progresses from depressed baby (relatable) to successful functioning adult (not relatable)
@@lilyjackson6460 James Bond is not a successful functioning adult.
@@drawingdragon tbh oshawotts evolution makes sense to me, since all of their evolutions are based off of (increasingly larger) sea mammals
My first thought when I saw this thing was "I hope it evolves into Naturia Beast"
Y’all are talking ab how the cats gonna stand up but just wait until the ducks water hat has turned into a pompadour and they’re posing like a jojo character
My prediction for the full evolution is that it stands on two legs and disappoints LITERALLY EVERYONE
We both know that there would be a lot of people who'd be happy about furry antro weed queen cat
@@anna-flora999 Hell, we probably both know I wouldn't be as bothered by it as I would have ANYONE believe, but I was trying to be overdramatic about it.
I would be happy with that. Especially if it gains a plant rapier.
@@anna-flora999 "queen"?
I don’t think it’s too simple. I feel like it’s perfectly balanced and not over or under designed. But that’s just my opinion.
I’m having a hard time choosing starters
I can imagine that on the second evo they might add a leaf collar-like thing around its tail as well, maybe adding a bit more of a leaf motif to the ears
Imagine theres a drig dealer in pokemon and they just sell sprigatito
"Lion whose mane is entirely made out of foliage" I WISH it was like that. Idk why GF arbitrarily decided that all starter pokemon are to turn into digimon in their 3rd form.
Meowscarada my beloved
STAY QUADPEDAL STAY QUADPEDAL STAY QUADPEDAL
I hope this boi stays with his four little paws ON THE FUCKING GROUND
Weedleon, the Weed Lion Pokémon. It likes to eat and laze, but its claws can cut tree trunks. It sheds often, and its shed fur is often used by spas as a form of incense.
Also, the name _literally_ just means "weed kitten"; sprig is a name for a part of a plant, and also a somewhat common slang term for weed, and gatito is Spanish for "kitten"
Masahiro Sakurai- If your standing on two legs by the time your fully evolved, I’ll put you in smash bros.
Heheheheheh, this aged horribly, but oh well! Meowscarada isnt as bad as I thought so I aint complaining about this flamenco weed cat puss-in-boots pokemon thingy.
I initially did not like Meowscarada, but only because I thought it didn't have ears. Then I realized, upon evolving it, that it does have ear, but they're just pinned down. Still kept the nickname Lil Jon. Lol
A lion would've been soooo much better than meowscara
Imagine your sprigatito dying because it puts you in a trance every time you go to feed it
You are very optimistic that this thing is gonna remain a quadruped
I swear if they do a fenecen or litten again im going to lose my sh*t
The green cat is my favorite exactly because it is simple, the other designs are too weird or too tryhardish, and that has been happening with all the new gens. i just think a more simple disign is even better. just look at the first gen pokemon. all basic aaand we love them.
Why settle for a nudist DuckTales Reboot character or one of the Dragons from Bubble Bobble, when you can have Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Stoner?
Finally someone says it every else fell in love with it instantly while I thought it looked plain and boring compared to the other two
Preserve weed cat's purity by kicking it while it's down, do NOT let that thing stand up
It looks like the thing on its neck looks like a weed plant
“A lion with a Main that is made of foliage” you forgot to say that is not bipedal!!
This is my starter, I’m naming it “Reefer”
then it became a magician
This is why I’m going to name mine Illinois.
Bayleef, a Pokémon that does literally the same thing but has several blunts around its neck: *sad noises*
It’s not about addiction, pets get jealous when they’re owners aren’t paying attention to them
Your prediction is so optimistic. I expect the final evolution to be an uncanny valley mashup of poison ivy and catwoman with unnecessarily thick thighs or some other bipedal eldritch horror.
*Therapeutic aroma* yeah, that's what weed smells like
I like to imagine the final evolution is a bit like a quadruped zoroark.
To be fair, Treecko is just a bipedal gecko
Just for the love of all things holy all 4 legs must be on the ground in the final evolution no INCENEROAR for the sake of sanity
it's gonna be incineroar's boyfriend, silly! :D
It won't be incineroar bad, but c'mon. Duelist cat, complete with plant rapier, a la Puss In Boots.
@@MidnightCapricorn2696 i want a 4 legged starter. They can make a different cat for puss in boots. We have so many bipedals... the last 3 gens only of them! Just give us quadkitty man please!
THANK you, you expressed my feelings about this cat perfectly XD From the second we saw these starters for the first time, I thought Sprig was the weakest design. It's literally just a green cat. The other two have way more character.
this aged like milk
Probably the uploader's favorite drink
@@denjeez yeah
A lion with a mane out of foliage.
This aged like fine wine.
I would prefer that over Meowscarada, but i do like Floragato
Fuecoco: A pepper dragon that will burn you
Quaxly: a duck with a sleak pompadour
Sprigatito: W E E D C A T
Imagine it's literally just a lion that is just straight up a bush when it's not moving
We all know that the final evolution will be a 5'3 bipedal cat that is also a drug dealer
maybe the reason it looks like weed is because they tried to make it based off of catnip.
i mean, it is a cat.
and catnip is pretty much just weed for cats
If they pull an incineroar with the third evolution I will riot
People : *complains about sprigatito being simple*
Treecko, literally a green gecko: ...
I swear to god if Weed Cat becomes it’s official entry… GameFreak is out of their freaking mind.
Well weed smells like skunk, and that’s not a sweet aroma
Knowing that the region is based in Spain, I'd love if Sprigatito ends up being a lynx
No wonder they didn't lean too heavily into the grass theme they just wanted a cute and simple next mascot for Pokemon
I feel at this point weed cat was intentional,, at least ONE of the designers was probably like “hehe weed cat”
