You were in my city, Richmond. The area where West Elm is called Carrytown. I wouldn’t consider that area to be poverty “ish”. They pride themselves on keeping that area historic with a little eclectic “ness” here and there. It’s a lot of mom and pop shops too. I’m glad you’re making your way down to Richmond, it has a lot to offer. We have a lot black owned restaurants here, you should check them out.

As a newcomer, it felt a lot like DC, which has been gentrified to high heaven. LOL I'm in Richmond often, but I always go to Short Pump. Carrytown cupcakes was a really cut shop, and my friend wants to try Ruby Scoops, but idk what part of Richmond that's in. I might go back for dinner and dessert. Thanks for sharing that info! ❤️

@@DanielleLaShawn yes gentrification is really happening down here. Ruby Scoops is in Northside of Richmond. It’s called the Highland Park area of Richmond. East of short pump. I live in short pump area.

Another great date night restaurant in Short Pump is The Boathouse if you like seafood. Hubby and I really enjoyed it.
