I was able to grow a pineapple plant from the first one 1 tried. I had it for almost 2 years, bringing it inside when it was cold. Then this spring, the first day I day I took it out to enjoy the warm weather, a squirrel chewed through the base of the plant and killed it.

Where I’m from they don’t sell pineapples with the crowns in our supermarket!
I have grown pineapple plants from their tops in 2020 & they're so beautiful. I understand it take 3-5 years before it'll reproduce another pineapple.

Walmart special🥰 my hat And I always look for a very healthy crown in the grocery store. Sometimes the crowns are really dried out and would not be a good candidate for planting! Keep trying you got this happy planting💚🪴🍍

@@melallred6523 Im In zone 8a and it will take about 2-3 years before getting a fruit But the great thing about a pineapple it is a great house plant it will help clean the air.💚

Hi Tee! Thanks for sharing how to plant pineapples. I actually did one a few weeks ago in water, and the roots are about 2 inches long. I will be putting it in soil Friday. I also have 2 more in water, however, 1 don't look so good and the other is showing tiny roots. Again...thanks for sharing!👍😊

My first pineapple plant came from the crown ; it took almost 3 yrs produce a pineapple.
Now, I only plant the slips & suckers ; it takes only a yr to 18 mths to grow a pineapple with them. I have 6 plants that came from the original plant. I sold a few plants.
My daughter brought me a Meyers lemon tree for father's day & I'm like a kid at Christmas.
