  • Easily multiply dozens of pineapple plants from a pineapple top, this method focuses on producing pineapple suckers that will grow better faster, and stronger than cultivating the entire top. In this video, We will talk about selecting the best pineapple for success, how to prepare it for multiplying and what to expect with results. Propagating pineapples from pineapple tops will produce a genetically identical clone of the plant that produced the fruit originally, so a great fun rewarding experience! a must try for all that love gardening and horticulture :-)

The reason pineapples grow to a tiny size, when you plant the full top, is because they cycle; moreover, if you plant the tops of the tiny pineapples, those will grow into large pineapples, so on and so forth.

@GreenthumbsGarden it's been about 10 days now & the leaves are slowly turning back to a healthy green & firm color.
They look much better now compared to when I just had the whole pineapple top in the soil.
It was only wilting away as a whole top in the soil.

My quartered top initially sprouted nice green buds on 3. Then they stalled, so I carefully got them out of the soil and realized the bottom part was rotting. 😢

@@kimberlyjohnson8132watch some videos. You should have slips and suckers coming off the plant. You can leave one of the slips on the plant (just one to get a bigger fruit), and grow another pineapple from it, but remove the suckers and plant them individually to get more pineapples.

as @kona702 says, the plant will produce suckers, like the little plantlets we got in the video, these you can brake off and grow to get more pineapples and they will produce full size. when you grow a pineapple plant from a top, it grows a small pineapple. I'm not sure why.

When the center rots away, and you can pull it out, it is normally dead 😞 sorry. Maybe a new sucker could grow on the side if there is still life.

@@antoniofodaro8064 ok so its just the very centre? what I would do it give it a spray of copper fungicide or a dusting with sulphur, hold off from watering and allow the plant to dry to dry out a little in-between. In winter they can be very susceptible to fungus and rotting if left too wet, left in the rain and the cold nights. keep it warm and just a little most and plenty of sun. Hopefully it will send out a few suckers. that will replace the centre growth. check out my recent update on pineapples ua-cam.com/video/JjN7XXw98Ss/v-deo.html and keep me updated on how you get on :-)
