This has to be one of the most lucid and scary solos ever recorded... this is the kind playing that jazzers dream about but can never do it after they wake up! Amazing.
This is fantastic! Let's also trace the history and one of the pioneers of this tune, Bud Powell... 1953 at Birdland, NYC... ua-cam.com/video/hsazXxHNbx8/v-deo.html
They got this one just right; transcended the earthly plane. Great song, great articulation, great feeling. Perfect tempo! Beautiful Love. This is THE Trio for me, of all time. Thank you, moom1000, for putting this up.
I don't think many people understand that this is one of the best solos ever recorded. most people lack the deeper understanding of jazz and its spritual roots
***** Don't you think it's part of the process to imitate the people you love to be able to find your own way through anything ? I'd say it's necessary to immitate them at one moment but if you have a way to find yourself through yourself and only that, I need your secrets !!!
@WouterteD it's a common technique in jazz... the reason is because in the NATURAL order of things, music starts as an idea within your mind. second, we are able to sing it faster than we can actually play it. thirdly then we are able to play what it is we are thinking. so some people sing as they play to make a pure connection towards what they are thinking. hope this helps you understand why :)

Yes! He just rips into that impossibly fresh line as him and Jack musically orgasm the idea together! Truly otherworldly) I went back 10 or more times just to marvel at that beautiful moment.
When you look at rock bands who do fireworks, mega big screen plays, smoke and other gimickeries on stage to convince you this is a awesome show you are experiencing, or other musicians who use drugs to get high and be able to really fly, I can accomodate with Keith manners. He delivers such high musical performances. If this is what he needs to get in trance, so be it. He is unbelievable. A musical genius and creative mind. I’m watching a lots of his performances on UA-cam and he leaves me in awe each and every time. A true artist.
Keith has had 2 strokes and Gary is no longer with us. This will live on however, hopefully inspiring and being listened to by generations to come.
