The version with Miles Davis deserves to be listen But Keith is Keith indeed .. I jumped straight to listen to it coz Keith is Keith you are right !!!! “ Lush life “ should also be written for him ..
Love how Peacock's accompaniment gives the impression of alternating among 3 voices. He's basically operating with 2 additional rhythms in his head to make it work. There's the walking 4/4, the occasional 4th-string low bass accent, and the broken-time counterpoint. Endlessly inventive! Jaco could do that, too. Thank you, pa!
Keith’s phrasing relates he keeps it rolling along with subtle swing, while we hear the music and tap dance in our minds to a special place, like in the now in the know in the years, in the here looking and hearing in the then. The Zen…Our phones are our DJs picking gems we’ve somehow missed along the way. Thinking back to terms my jazz peers used often back in the day. “That was smokin…Indeed”, “How ya doin?I’m copacetic”. Keep it real folks. We were purest for one year only listening to jazz in the form. We knew their instruments and their names and history at times…Other good music we deemed close enough to be jazz…of course including fusion we’re talking 70’s. But Zappa, Floyd other experimental stuff Can Man much more it was my discovery in jazz😊 Thank you.
Rest in peace Gary. To better days Keith.❤
Keith Jarretts’…..It could happen to you must be one of the best renderings of this beautiful tune.
