LOL, this is a great video Ron, especially at this time . I have to laugh though because anyone who has lived in the Phils long enough to do a visa run should know better than to wait till the last 6 months to get something as important as your life/ living arrangement in order.

Hey Rod.. I fully respect JR, and his service.. The aggravating thing is BI.. I have one of these Ltr of reconsiderations going right now.. I approached, and submitted my paperwork with JR in the middle of May, as my last day of the 3 years was April 26th.. My paperwork ended up going thru Mandaue, and was forwarded to Manila, Manila's received date stamp is July 24th.. Why did it take two months to get to Manila?? Don't know.. Why does Mandaue not perform this function, although BI's website states that any district office can perform it.. Don't know.. Finally two days ago JR's rep informed me that my paperwork is in the BI commissioner's office for signature.. After getting my NBI clearance certificate, and booking a flight back to Texas, I will be looking at over 6 months to jump thru these hoops.. I had a flight booked to leave prior to my April 26th deadline, that was cancelled due to the COVID situation.. Now with BI taking so long, it will be me suffering the expense of penalties, and fines at no fault of my own... It is sad to say, but honestly I think I have had enough of the Phils.. Thanks for useful video.. Take care...

Thanks Bruce. I wish the PH would extend the visas like Thailand has been doing. They are forcing people to leave who will have a positive affect on the economy by spending money. Makes very little sense. Good luck with your plans.

Wow sounds so complicated. Wonder why it takes so long. Does the Philippines keep track of how long you have stayed in a central computer? That each office could access and look you up? Or is it all only paperwork and stamps?

Same ole sh#t with all the red tape plus they will nickle and dime you to death with fees for this, fees for that, fees on fees etc...foreigners must pay to play and will suck every dollar they can out of you. Why do they do this? Because they can that's why. The biggest fee I had a problem with was CAMERA FEE TO TAKE PICTURES...OMG HELL NO

When I had to get an extension I also put in my 13A application so I was issued a 6 month extension. JRC did all the paperwork so one easy trip to NBI and one to BIR. They came both times. Now just waiting for Manila to send the approval back here but at least I have until February of next year. Using the service there also eliminates the physical exam and interview that is required in most cases.

When your 36 months are up, then it's done, covid or no covid. I was supposed to leave on May 8 in full lock down. After applying for reconsideration I had to pay the full amount of fines and penalties. 38k in total. Got extension until November 8. Went Friday for my ECC. Make sure you bring all your extension receipts, not only the latest (what I did). Or else you pay 2,300 additional instead of just 500.

Foreigners are actually lucky they can stay that long legally on a tourist visa. You can practically live there perpetually as a tourist just by exiting after 3 years and coming back the next day and restart the whole process whereas in the US I've never heard anyone getting a visit extended more than once after entry which in most cases is 6 months. And if you visit the US too soon or frequently, the CBP would surely put you on "secondary inspection" or "immigration hold" for interrogation as they suspect you're doing something else other than just touring the country. In addition, the extension of stay is subject to discretion and you'd have to write USCIS a letter justifying your request along with evidence that you are financially capable of supporting yourself during an extended stay without working in the US and not simply by filing a form and paying a fee as is the case in the Philippines. And If for some reason your request is denied and 120 days after filing then you start accruing "unlawful presence". At which time you're already technically deportable and if you do get the boot may not be allowed to come back for 3 or 10 years depending on how long you overstayed.

If the blog/vlog is a hobby, you shouldn't need a business permit, I don't think. Even Filipinos with a business are supposed to register the name and get the proper permits from barangays, province, and feds.

I am in Cancun Mexico for last two months, the life here great, the people are respectful and safe place to live, I do lots of walking at nights and no one ever bothered me or rubbed but many times helped me when I was lost. The only issue is not much English spoken in downtown Cancun but around the beach areas most speak English so start learning Spanish and I am learning via an app called Rocket Language, I highly recommend it. Also i recommend to live in downtown which is much cheaper than beach front condos. My rent (which is RbNb, you can even get it cheaper if you just stay for a month at an RbNb and then get a rental agent to find you a place but the catch here is you must have somebody from Mexico to co-sign for you or you must pay your lease term in advance, I suggest RbNb with less headache) for a loft is around $300/month and everything included furniture AC WiFi and the host deliver drinking water for the water cooler as it is needed, all included in rent. My food and transportation is around $400, total cost $700 to $800 per month. If Philippines not hospitable anymore then come to Mexico, and after my stay here for 6 months I go to Medellin Colombia which also easy to get in, they only require a PCR test within 4 days of your arrival.

@@pauljones3557 yes many flights now. This is why I say why go thru the pain and cost of over stay. If your time is ending just leave. Save money and stress. It is leave now are later. But you will have to go!!
