Best Gaming Monitors for PS5 2023 | With LIMITATIONS Explained

- In this video I talk about the selection of the best gaming monitors for PS5 in various categories.
I essentially talk about three categories here: FHD, QHD and 4K.
Before buying any monitor for PS5, you have to take it's limitations into consideration. PS5 isn't flexible like a PC in terms of the display modes it supports. Hence you need to make sure that you have the right monitor.

I would recommend that you pay attention to the limitations I talk about since not all shiny and epic monitors are supported by PS5. You do not want to end up buying a gaming monitor for PS5 only to find out that it does not support your desired mode.
Also note that 4K at 120FPS gaming is rare on PS5. There are only a handful of very old titles that can support these specs.
My recommendations for the best gaming monitors for PS5 take value for money into consideration. I have only selected the monitors that have the best price tag in a certain performance category.

With regard to Limitation #4 - Thanks to the latest update, VRR is now supported on QHD monitors if it has an HDMI 2.1 port.
Hello there! I use a Benq Zowie 2455T (1.4 HDM; 1920x1080 Full HD ; 75 Hz 1 ms 250 cd/m² 1000:1) for competitive e-sports (fifa)...wich monitor should i upgrade to? I have a budget of 250 euros. Best regards
If I got 2.0 monitor but 2.1 cable ? Any different?
love the details you provide, you cover many things others never mention, I would not have thought that a 144hz monitor could not support 120 hz ( in some cases )
I think this video should be benchmark for others. Explained every major and subtle things.
Thanks a lot brother!
Glad it was helpful!
ty very detailed
We need more videos like this the details 😮
Will AOC 27G2SP will run 120 FPS on play station 5? Please help! Thanks appreciate it
PC Unwrapped, do you have a 2024 updated video?
Do ACER NITRO ED27OR, AOC 27G2SP and AOC CQ27G2 support 120 hrz at 1080p ? (Do they have hdmi2.0 or even hdmi 2.1?)w vid btw keep grinding
yes, they all do. but they have an HDMI 2.0
@@pcunwrapped thanks
What about samsung Odyssey g7 will it support 120fps at 4k?
Would using HDMI2.0 instead of HDMI2.1 reduce my fps or quality? I am unsure on whether or not the need for HDMI2.1 is necessary for better/smoother gaming or if HDMI2.0 will work the exact same?
No, the interface version only relates to what resolution and FPS it can support. HDMI 2.0 can support up to 4K @ 60 Hz. For anything beyond this, you will need HDMI 2.1 (and the right HDMI cable to go along with it)
i have a 244hz monitor that runs at 120 for my ps5 and its a samsung . do all samsungs work for ps5
Howdy .so whats the best for GT7 ? at any price ? prefer 27' for size
Can a 1080p 165hz with HDMI 2.0 monitor game at 120fps in PS5?
Samsung odyssey g5 has VA-pannel, hasn‘t it?
Odyes g5 suporrts 120hz on ps5?
Does the same logic apply to Xbox bc I have watching and want one monitor for both
I’m ready to order the Ultragear 32gp750-b but I can’t seem to find anything on the lg website or through customer support that says it definitely has a 2.1 for my ps5 😭
It has an HDMI 2.0. You can check by downloading the PDF manual here www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-32gp750-b
i have this one ps5 runs at 1440p 120 just fine
Can I play 120hz on the LG 32GP850 32" 1440p UltraGear 165Hz?
I'm also thinking of buying this screen, but I need more info
@@niklas6467 find another monitor, don't drive up the price

This was a fantastic video, i didn't necessarily come here for recommendations but to research the limitations of the PS5 as i am buying a second monitor I plan to use for both my PC and PS5, im leaning towards the Corsair 27QHD240 but can't seem to find a list of support display modes
Anyways you're absolutely right about other people just listing monitors with no thought as to whether they actually fit for the PS5, again fantastic video
The problem with looking at something like the AOC CQ27G2 and judging by the number of comments is that until you actually go into the comments, and filter them out by the specific model, you don't really know how many THAT model got, because there are multiple models for sale through the same page and they are all combined in that total that you see through the top. I'm comparison shopping right now through a combination of web review sites, UA-cam reviewers, and looking at ratings and also complaints about RMA / service for each manufacturer. I've noticed that with some monitors, that is a problem when they stack up 6, 8 or even more monitors on the same page. For instance, on that page for that monitor, right now, there are a total of 5 models, with 25,474 ratings. The CQ27G2 (which now appears to have been surpassed by the CQ27G3S which is cheaper) only has a total of 4092 reviews, and actually has about 82% 5 star and 12% 4 star instead of the 84% 5 star and 10% 4 star of the total rating.
That's more a problem with Amazon
Good video man! You got my sub for this one, perfect explanation.👍🏻
Thanks for the sub!
Sucks that the PS 5 has so many limitations. At least the Xbox has better implementation of VRR on even hdmi 2.0 monitors. Last year August I picked up the Dell S2721 DGFA monitor. I love it...I got it for my PC but also want to get a PS 5 for it but now I'm not sure ??? It's hdmi 2.0 165hz and it's freesync and gsync enabled
Is there a flat monitor 24"-28" size that supports 120fps at 1440p?
The 2nd Limitation is cap
Any monitor that's 144, 165, 170, 240 or even 360Hz works and supports 120Hz
@@BackwithHasu Thank you so much
@@JimmyRavioli You're Welcome. And also for your question go with MSI's G273QPF or G273QF really solid ones I have the G273QPF myself and I gotta say it's hella good
@@BackwithHasu That's what's up! I definitely will. For now I grabbed an AOC C24G1A for 1080p but whenever I'm able to upgrade I'll definitely grab the MSI. I'm going to add it to my Amazon now so I don't forget. I really appreciate you .
@@JimmyRavioli You're welcome!!
So what monitors best for ps5?
The Samsung Odyssey G55A is curved not flat
What would you recommend for no particular price point at 4K? I use my monitor for mostly Call of duty!
Samsung G70A. Great for console and PC gaming
@@BennyBlawnk thank you!
