  • This video will show you what could be wrong after loosing your Dodge Grand Caravan heater blower speeds. I will show you what had happened to me and I could not find any video's showing how to take this dash apart. I thought I would show others that may have had this simular problem.

    Try this button thing first lol that’s all I did and what!!!!! I got my heat back!!!! Better and stronger then ever before believe it’s or not, it was that simple for me. Nothing but sweet heat coming out now 🎉

    The heater is blowing hot and cold air. What could be it?

      Maybe have air in your coolant lines or thermostat is stuck in a certain position. Can also check if you got bad fuses or relays. Hope this helps

    can a bad resistor be the problem for no heat?

    • @codraven57
      @codraven57  2 роки тому

      No is the simple answer. The resistor only controls the heater fan meaining the fan speeds. When a resistor fails you will loose one or all the slow fan speeds. It limits the power to the fan to make it go slow. The fan on high is the full 12volts from your car battery and the slower speeds are limited my this resistor which usually consist of a couple of internal resistors of different sizes for different speeds. I hope this makes sense to you.
      The issue of no heat is a coolant flow problem usually. It could be a plugged heater core or a faulty thermostat in the engine. Go for the thermostat first as it is the cheapest and easiest to change. Probably lest than $20 at a auto parts store and an hour or so by someone who now what to do and you are running again. In all of this besure you have the correct amount of coolant in your engine because if not low coolant can give you some issues with heat as well.
      In short, check coolant, then check thermostat, and then heater core. That is the order of possible issues for ease of repair and cost of repair.
      Good luck!!!!!

    Interesting info about the switch contacts. Never know when it could come in handy in the future. I'd rather not know the price of that circuit board.

      Some time after I did this little repair it acted up again and I purchased a used switch board from a pick your own parts yard for $30.

    Hi,
    Thank you for this information, I have nearly the same issue, in my dodge grand caravan 2016 ,
    But in addition of that, I have, one side blowing hot air, and cool in the other,
    Could it be the same onser of all my problems,
    Thanks,

      walid z yt I am assuming you have a more complex climate control system in your 2016. If so I would say you have a motor for a door problem on one side or another. Good luck.
