Yeah I have to agree. I can't think of a single decent or remotely memorable RTS title released after command and conquer 3. C&C / RA franchise has been killed and the corpse defiled by EA. Warcraft has been made 'refunded' by blizzard, and they already openly stated that they won't make StarCraft 3 since they can't milk as much money with the RTS genre as they can with overwatch and whatnot. Which may not be a bad thing to be honest as Blizzard has completely lost all creative and entertainment edge they once had, so SC3 would be potentially the death of the franchise.
@atombrain111 Maybe. But I haven't seen anything original from Blizzard since Starcraft 2. Maybe that's what you mean - in that anything like original WC3 or SC2 that people still play, enjoy and can create content in through custom maps since release and to date, isn't a continuous revenue stream? But that means the only things that would be, are short gratification drop box crap that would get boring after a few hours of playing without the cash grabs - so it does explain it to a degree I guess...

The tides of darkness campaign shouldn't be too bad with the exception of the last few levels of each campaign, which can be pretty tough (the last level especially). Beyond the Dark Portal is another story though, those levels match in difficulty the hardest levels Blizzard has ever put out. That campaign is terrifying.
@@redwings13400 True. While ToD AI is passive most of the time, BtDP introduces us to a completely new level of difficulty. Watching the second mission saving the trolls made my memory of it a lie.. I remembered it as the map was way bigger than just run->save->run and I also thought there was way more trolls with different hair colors.
Yeah if it weren't for Gul'dan's betrayal the Orcs most CERTAINLY would've won the second war, heck they even managed to take out the leader of the Human Alliance, Anduin Lothar of Azeroth
Canonically everything in the Orc campaign happened in the lore. except the final mission, where the abscence of Gul'dan's troops spelled doom for the Horde's siege, aaaand they were also the main force defending southern Lordaeron. This led to the Human campaign, where Turalyon takes back southern Lordaeron and Khaz Modan, trapping the Horde in Quel'Thalas, where the Alliance won the war after the fall of Blackrock Spire.
Well, not really - this is a retcon. Originally, only several specific events from this campaign were canon, the rest was strictly non-canon. But then came the "Tides of Darkness" novel, which tried to make both campaigns canon (a bad decision, IMHO), which does cause a lot of contradictions in the story (e.g. was Told Barad successfully defended... or was it destroyed?). Personally, I prefer the original situation, where only the Alliance campaign was fully canon. It made more sense.
@@AlexeiVoronin I don't remember where I heard it, but I think Tol Barad was rebuilt in secret according to the novels. It may just be something my mind made up, so I don't know for sure.

the best game ever... i still play it on regular basis. Both campaigns are virtually identical up to and including scenario 5 after that they are very different Orc campaign it's a little bit easier than Human campaign, many scenarios have a naval focus, so it goes something like "build up your base, once you are ready build your fleet, delete enemy fleet and then when enemy is decimated perform an amphibious operation with enough strengt to kill the enemy. Human AI never really challenge the build up except for the Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron scenarios but even those are not as hard, most people will win the campaign. Orc units are more ofensive by design, Bloodlust boost the attack but it last very little. The death knight unit is very limited due to Paladin's exorcism and Dragons can be boosted with "Haste" and "Bloodlust" but they do not last that much so at the end they are limited Human campaign is harder, some scenarios are ment to be close call from scratch, against multiple active foes, but to be honest the only real challenge is the Dark Portal scenario. It is that much hard that i have only managed to win it once despite having played it many times. The Humans are more defensive, since Paladin's heal can save a lot of money in units but really need time to make a difference and exorcism isn't as propperly used by OP than by AI. Mages are way better unit than D.K. since they don't have a specific counter and they can move freely. Gryphon Riders can be healed which is a huge save of money compared to dragons At the end of the day it is a fun game to try, War2Combat can be installed freely and there's even a small online community to play it against others but the skill level must be really high i guess

Watching the second mission saving the trolls made my memory of it a lie.. I remembered it as the map was way bigger than just run->save->run and I also thought there was way more trolls with different hair colors.
@@MrFasho123 There are more trolls than just Zuljin. Replayed it two years ago. This guy is doing a speedrun, so you won't see everything.
In the Lore The Orcs almost succeeded in taking Lorderaeon. If it wasn't for Guldan it could have been a different story.
Yeah if it weren't for Gul'dan's betrayal the Orcs most CERTAINLY would've won the second war, heck they even managed to take out the leader of the Human Alliance, Anduin Lothar of Azeroth
Gosh I loved this game!!
Thanks for uploading this!
Playing the campaign now. Its still so good.
The game series that made them rich!
Never knew this was where the Pet Battle music came from, lol. Good to see its origin.
Without words watching this.. flood of nostalgia its depressing
KiLLa_HaLo checking in here - miss all the warcraft II homies!
Such good souvenirs ❤️👌
I played Warcraft 2 between 1996 and 1998 if I recall well, that’s fun to remember it.
Thx for sharing 😊
"UA-cam is killing small channels with less than 1000 subscribers", LIKED and SUBSCRIBED before seeing vid. The vid was awesome as well, I lived for this game!
I just love how you bother the ish out of them ,with the repeat clicking on everything XD
this makes warcraft 3 look like something from the year 3019
Well, I wouldn't go that far...
the gameplay however, miles better than WC3
I've been to the year 3000, not much has changed except we live underwater.
Best play through. Right to the action, no passive exploration crap. Good job 👍🏻
The soundtrack honestly back in 1995 when it came out was absolutely epic, and has aged so well. Having the option for CD or MIDI was great too - obviously the MIDI didn't sound as good but they still did a great job with it. Lots of nostalgia with this game :)
Great warcraft game ❤
Zug zug throwith axe? I got axe for you. The town is under arttack!! Ready to work. I got this game with Blizzards Starcraft. Both games bring back great memories. I would not do such things if I were you. Love it !!!

I've been working on a Warcraft 2 playthrough. Your speedrun has been very helpful
This one video is showing me that am not aggressive enough in this game... Thanks!
damn, the nostalgia is real! *tears*! lol
the best game ever... i still play it on regular basis.
Both campaigns are virtually identical up to and including scenario 5 after that they are very different
Orc campaign it's a little bit easier than Human campaign, many scenarios have a naval focus, so it goes something like "build up your base, once you are ready build your fleet, delete enemy fleet and then when enemy is decimated perform an amphibious operation with enough strengt to kill the enemy. Human AI never really challenge the build up except for the Quel'Thalas and Lordaeron scenarios but even those are not as hard, most people will win the campaign. Orc units are more ofensive by design, Bloodlust boost the attack but it last very little. The death knight unit is very limited due to Paladin's exorcism and Dragons can be boosted with "Haste" and "Bloodlust" but they do not last that much so at the end they are limited
Human campaign is harder, some scenarios are ment to be close call from scratch, against multiple active foes, but to be honest the only real challenge is the Dark Portal scenario. Gryphon Riders can be healed which is a huge save of money compared to dragons
At the end of the day it is a fun game to try, War2Combat can be installed freely and there's even a small online community to play it against others but the skill level must be really high i guess
I am 35 years old and sometimes I play WC2. These are my fond memories of childhood.
was such a good game and absolutely love the soundtrack:)
