Skyla's new gym is somewhat less life-threatening. Basically a full grown man get hurled by a fan into a 14 or 15 year old child, who then gives you a bottle of water in compensation, oh and to exit the fans blow you across the gym and out the door.
Gizmos Monster "oh look a museum... BOOORRRIIIIIING, and libraries are even more boring! Who would want a museum-library gym?" (I know it's not the actual quote but that was basically what he said) Me: Libraries have good books. Museums have very fascinating charms from the past. The whole thing is drenched in knowledge to keep someone fascinated for a long time. I'm fine if you find it boring, but don't force it like it's a fact instead of an opinion.
I mean the whole thing was for you to understand the region's history, and learn more about how pokemon work there. I am a bookworm and a history nerd. So I understand why, but come on dude. -_-
Virbank City has the coolest aesthetic for a gym. It's meant to be an underground venue for bands to play which is perfect for both a character like Roxie and her poison type Pokémon.
Honestly, I don’t harp on Jasmine’s gym since you have to go on a quest just to get the chance to fight her. Honestly I consider said quest to be a gym puzzle in disguise.
a very boring list most of your reasons are based on your inability to be patient. like some i agree but come on man its a childs game be patient with it.
Personally, I've never really found any of these gym puzzles particularly difficult or frustrating (Lt Surge's Gym actually sucks for being way too easy IMO). Other Gyms like the library and the doll house(?) I feel deserve some credit for aesthetic appeal. If I had to pick my absolute least favorite gym it would have to be Whitney's redesigned gym in Heart Gold/Soul Silver, which is both incredibly bland and plagued with some of the worst level design choices I've had to put up with in a 3D Pokemon game to date. Also, I definitely agree that Norman's Gym (and even Norman himself) is full of wasted potential.
I noticed in the Laverre gym that the warp panel with the trainer closest to it was the right choice. I got through Valerie's gym really quickly because of this.
Your wrong. not everyone hates puzzle gyms. you don't have to be rude if you don't like them. also, the eterna gym and ice gym, their easy. but you must have grown up getting everything done for you, or else you wouldn't miss the details that help you beat the gym.
Under the right circumstances the Vermillion Gym is easy too! Sometimes people overthink straightforward puzzles, or assume they made a mistake when things don't go as they expected! That's called being human, as is thinking something is shitty because of it! It's not like there's an official list of top 10 worst gyms or else people wouldn't make videos about it. This is opinion based, settle down dude!
The last one one of the trainers point out that when you find a switch, the next one is either to the left or the right of the trashcan you found the switch in. So its more of a 50-50 shot and although it was annoying finding the switch and guessing the wrong side you should have gotten it in like 2 or 3 tries at least knowing this information, which was stated by one of the trainers.
I think #4 should have been hearthome city's gym in D/P specifically. It looks like they had no ideas for this gym in which it makes you do MATH problems in the GHOST TYPE GYM
About the number one spot. . . HAVE YOU NEVER FOUGHT THE GYM TRAINERS!? the one on the far left actually says that the second switch is always adjacent to the first. That should make it a bit quicker.
Yeah but it's still luck based as to whether or not you pick the correct trash can of the adjacent 8. I mean, a one in 8 chance isn't too bad but it's still luck based
+Hyper Pika Girl That's fair. However, a 12.5% chance is OK, but via research online and in game, it usually changes each time, and its a 1/6-1/8 chance, so you just go to one side over and over, and "click! the door unlocked."
6:43 well,at least it doesn't have as many rooms as sabrina's gym and well, also,it's in 3D and is a dollhouse. also,in sabrina's gym,the teleporters were square, here, they're circle. also, valerie's appearance fits her specialty type.
Agreed. Having a gym where all you do is solve a few math problems, while very easy to do, was just extremely boring. They could have made such a better puzzle with the ghost theme (and they did in Platinum, thank god).
Ok compare Roxanne vs Brock, Brock has one trainer in his gym while Roxanne has a double battle and a simple normal youngster that's why Brock's gym is boring
Lt. Surge's Gym is the easy puzzle if you know how do it if you it a swich it alway mext to the one you hit so if it was not in the one to the left you know the 2st one to the right or across form it leve 2 cans
I personally did not have any trouble with the gym at #2. The only reason it took me about 20 minutes was because I wanted to beat all the trainers first before the gym leader. its not really based on luck but more on memory of patterns. I dont get how anyone can't learn from their mistakes and think that where Theyre going is just blind luck. :/
Fantina's gym in D/P is the worst IMO. The gym puzzle consists of math problems so easy that a second grader could go through it with no problem....... only to be blind sighted by how insanely difficult Fantina herself is.
+KDog1265 Yeah, she's my favourite leader (who also uses my favourite type) and I was so disappointed with her gym. I'm glad they renovated it in Platinum.
sabrinas's gym was actually fairly simple. all you had to do was step on the initial one in the beginning and then once it teleported you to the first room with the 4 teleported tiles you either take the one above or below you (depending on if you are on the higher or lower teleporter). easier terms you only move to the teleporter south of you or north of you, you never go left or right, and you will get to the leader within about 30 seconds
for the electric gym the switches were always next to each other. and the key to the fairy type gym is that you need to go to the tile where the trainer is.
For the vermillion I thing it does have good thinking because a better way is to just save when you find the first trash can and keep reloading until you find the second switch
A lot of people don't understand the laverre City gym but I know a way the trick is to just go right and if there are two panels on the right side go on the bottom one until you get to the room with the gym leader
I don't want to be mean, but I disagree. I think the point of a gym is to test your wits, and with video games becoming easier and easier these days, I think a challenge is great. All I can say is that if you couldn't beat the gyms as a kid, that is no reason to immediately dislike it. I think if you would try the gyms again, they wouldn't be nearly as hard as they were.
Actually, Vermillion City's gym is a gym that rewards players that actually take their time to talk to the g trainers after they defeat them. One of the trainers tells you where you should look for the second switch after you find the first one, which makes everything a lot easier and NOT based entirely on luck.
Lt. Surges gym isn't 100% random, at least for the 2nd switch, since it is always in the surrounding bins of the 1st switch. Also, I found it quite easy to figure it out.
I did valeries gym pretty fast without knowing what i was doing. Also if you learn the tiles to sabrinas gym it's really easy. I can do sabrinas gym in 10 seconds flat. Just takes practice.
You know the second switch is one of the switches surrounding the first switch, right? When you beat the trainers they give you hints on how to solve the puzzle.
At least you don't have to do the puzzle in Gold, Silver and Crystal because the electric fence has been deactivated already so you can just go directly to Lt. Surge (I'm not sure if it's the same in the remakes, but in Crystal it's like that)
valerie gym puzzle was easy to me got there in 4 teleports and i did not look nothin up and to me lt surge puzzle was very easy but ppl make stuff like that seem very hard
I barely even remember most of those gyms, but Lt. Surge's gym I totally agree. It's not that it's hard or really time consuming, it's just really really random.
mine is the fighting gym in 4th gen i had to redo the game 3 times or more i even got to the safari zone cause i was so confuse till i figure that you can move the punching bag i first thought that the gym was block cause i missed an event
The WORST part about the Gym in Vermillion City is that the the second switch can be in a can you already searched where itsaid "Nope. There's only trash here". It took me 30 tries to solve it in Yellow. And that's just because of that fact. I went through the rows systemathically looking in each can. And one time where I already looked into every can except the last that was the first switch. But my findings were trash, trash trash, etc. So I thought "There is no second switch! Is this a glitch?" And then googled for help
Why isn't Blaine's gym from G/S/C? Not only is there no gym trainers, you literally have to take two steps forward from the entrance, press A, and you're already fighting Blaine. The gym is literally 4x4 spaces wide. And Blaine is a complete pushover.
I thought the livary gym was actually kind of fun but I don't know how you were there for hours my fist attempt was about 5 minutes. My least favorite is Misty's gym take away the trainer and you have 20 seconds of walking straight
I was really disappointed when I found out that Valerie's gym was just a knock off Sabrina, I'd like to see an actual gym puzzle that revolves around Fairy-Types
I remember passing Sabrina so much😂 also number 1 is true though you can find the first one then save and whenever you don't get it right revert back to the save until you get it right
all on this list are equally frustrating, but there is also Sabrina's gym, Wallace's gym, Morty's gym, Koga's gym, and I think just about summed it up.
I'm really surprised that Flannery or Tate and Lisa didn't make the list. The Lavaridge gym of Flannery's is quite similar to Sabrina's as well, except it's easier to work out and less chance of getting sent back to the start or getting lost. Tate and Liza's Ruby and Sapphire gym in Mossdeep City is literally the most annoying gym. You have to work out which path takes you where, or you will be sent back to the start and the gym leaders between them only have a Solrock and a Lunatone. In Emerald, the gym's layout was more simplified and the leaders had two extra Pokémon, making the battle more interesting and the fact it's a double battle that celebrates the introduction to the new feature made it even more challenging as one wrong move could end the battle altogether.
Surges gym was pretty easy to get through for me all the time since I always clicked on then next trash can right after the first one that had the switch and it was usually the one. :]
many of the gyms you are saying suck have their style to create a more clear personalty of the gym leader and and Pokemon. also the puzzles are there to make things more difficult and forcing you to find a way to get to the leader battling other trainers along the way.
Vermilion Gym in Pokemon Red and Green (note: in JAPANESE) with no knowledge of the language... Sure, I can totally do it! Well, I actually did do it, but it was the luckiest I've ever been.
I never understood the pain of the Vermillion Gym. If you utilize a sort of mathematical pattern and methodically check the trash cans, you can get through after only 3 or 4 incorrect attempts.
When I heard "risking your life" I instantly thought mistralton. Like seriously, you were shot out of cannons, FUCKING CANNONS.
You even get shot face-first into the wall. That's like at least a broken nose that you'll get!
Skyla's new gym is somewhat less life-threatening.
Basically a full grown man get hurled by a fan into a 14 or 15 year old child, who then gives you a bottle of water in compensation, oh and to exit the fans blow you across the gym and out the door.
yeah nut that version of the gym was fun the old one was just walking into each cannon
u complain when theres no gym puzzle but then u complain when theres a hard 1
+HassouTobi right
you are awsome
Its obvious he wants a balance of challenge. He doesnt want a gym thats too easy, or one thats too difficult to beat.
he wants a puzzle. he didn't complain because there was one. he complained because it was frustrating
i meant when a gym puzzles 2 easy not when theres not 1
I liked the Museum/Library Gym.
I also loved the doll house.
Same
Yeah
What about Blaine's gym in Gen 2? That was literally nothing at all. Just him chilling in a tiny cave all by himself .
shut up. his gym burned down
Wait. So you say good gyms are challenging yet you put two puzzle gyms on the list because they were to hard?
3*
you are awesome
Saying all good gyms are challenging doesn't mean all challenging gyms are good.
It's not too hard, it's just tedious.
i liked the museum/library gym ._.
Gizmos Monster "oh look a museum... BOOORRRIIIIIING, and libraries are even more boring! Who would want a museum-library gym?" (I know it's not the actual quote but that was basically what he said)

is it a sidequest if you NEED to do it to progress?
@@WaffleCat3367 yes

it's pretty damn sad of someone actually gets stuck on that puzzle for hours, considering the first time took me around 5-10 minutes.
Children are often times less patient than adults, and the most probable reason of which he was impatient, was because he played these games as a kid.
-calls list boring
-complains that the creator is impatient
good logic there buddy
It's a perfectly fine logic
the Laverre Gym is more easyer then Saffron Gym gym
Thank you. at least you can keep track of the rooms in Laverre. How many kids got lost in Saffron 'cause they failed to use the vertical path?

I almost threw my 3DS with Vermillion City's gym. Yes, I bought Yellow via the eShop.
The easiest way to do it is when you find the first one, you save the game then just reset the game til you find the second one

I know that you hate those gyms, but actually I love them. ALL of them. The gym music that I most like is Roxie's.
I think that the Jasmina's puzzle is to get the medicine for Ampharos, I think Whitney's puzzle is annoying too.
IIRC Surge mentions that he hid the switches literally in trash cans because he didn't want to battle anyone who wouldn't stick his hands in garbage
Lenora's Gym is not boring It's pretty Creative
Jasmine's Gym manages to disappoint me every time I replay HeartGold and forget that there are indeed trainers there!
When I was in Surge's gym, I found the right switchs in only six trash cans.
You know the second switch is one of the switches surrounding the first switch, right?
When you beat the trainers they give you hints on how to solve the puzzle.
what about fortree city flying type gym (winona from ruby emerald and sapphire) those swinging gates are annoying.
