ACT Math Section: Formulas you NEED to know
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 сер 2024
- Unlike the SAT, the ACT does not provide you with a list of basic math formulas to rely on at the beginning of the ACT math section. Unfortunately, you're still going to be tested on mathematical concepts that require the use of those formulas--so you better start memorizing! In this 17-minute video, our ACT expert Kat will give you an in-depth look at all math formulas you should commit to memory before you take the ACT. Download this printable PDF for the full list of math formulas commonly appearing on the test: act.magoosh.co...
00:00 - Kat introduces herself and need to know math formulas
00:16 - Will you be given a list of formulas on test day?
00:42 - Finding the slope
01:29 - Slope intercept
02:19 - Quadratic formula
03:27 - Imaginary numbers
04:22 - Statistics
05:21 - Counting & probability

English , Writing , science/Biology and History NO PROBLEM.
My only issue was Math....
Many people struggle with math, so you're not alone. But there are many, many things you can learn to help you improve! Check out some of our ACT math tips: magoosh.com/hs/act-sections/#act-math
Math, science/biology
NO PROBLEM
English, writing, history
BIG PROBLEM
@@slowtuber5345 yup got a 28 on my math pre act and a 20 on my English pre act 😮
@@nixpaFPS I got 28 too but 19 in the English
English no problem, Science I struggle because of my unfamiliarity with the strategy but I definitely struggle with Maths.
THANK YOU I'm taking the ACT in 12 hours and I'm so nervous, this helped me gain a little more confidence in myself, especially since I'm really bad at math
Hey! How well did this help?
How did you do??
I take it today big bro 😭😭🙏🏽
Me today man😭😭 in half an hour
Can you do a practice test explaining how to use each formula
This was extremely helpful! Thank you so much! I’ve been banging my head trying to find which formulas I need to memorize for sure cause there’s so many! Ty ty!
That really helped me to be prepare for my ACT test.thank you for your help proud of you...I am going to take the ACT test in next year's.
11:00 you could have mentioned some of the logarithmic proporties, like adding or subtructing logs, which are important to know
Yea I’m just gonna accept that I won’t get a good score
No no, you got this!
how'd you do?
😂 me too
I clicked on this cuz it sounded like, maybe there's hope. No. No help. it's all Greek. complete different language.
one thing I've noticed though is that they'll sometimes give you the necessary formula. For example, there was a triangle problem, and the law of cosines was given.
Indeed, sometimes they do! I wouldn't count on it, but sometimes the ACT is just nice :)
@@MagooshHS yea. I took the June 12th Act, and there was a Law of Cosines problem with no formula provided 😭.
Trying to memorize all the volumes is so hard
dreading it already so I’m watching videos to prepare me
watching this the morning of the ACT
Bro same these comments are so comforting
yea lol
8:57 It should be 28.27 because you have to multiply 9 and 3.14 which is the pi symbol
I’m so scared and I take it October 28th
Very helpful thank you!
9:26 The answer should be 18.85. You multiply 2 times pi(3.141) times 3 which gives you 18.85
I am taking it tomorrow😅
Hope it went well! 😂
This did help.
Glad to hear it! Thanks for stopping by :)
I’m takin it tomorrow
Same
9:38 and forward

@@kaniya4810 i hope we did well!! You are a junior, you still have one more year!!
@@milanlockett9870 thank you I hope you did well also I’m taking the math part today and I’m just hoping I pass but if I don’t then I’ll just look for a tutor that can help me out
@@milanlockett9870 what score did you get
@@georgiek4101 Hello! I haven't got my score back yet! Still waiting! I should be getting it this week or next week!!
math is ok but reading gives me literally anxiety :(
I think reading is the more daunting task for sure! Many other students are in that same boat with you :) Keep practicing, and try to read books or magazines in your free time! It's one of those things that improves as you do it more. Feel free to email help@magoosh.com for more tips :)
Taking ACT in SIX HOURS!!! I know everything besides the sphere and cone formulas. Wish me luck boys. 🫡
How'd it go
