PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Hi, guys! I have a quick note about this video: when I say ‘I only got a 27,’ I don’t mean that a 27 is bad. What I mean is that for someone who planned to apply and attend an Ivy League school like Harvard, a 27 was not going to cut it, and therefore I had to do better. In NO WAY do I mean that getting a 27 makes you stupid, inadequate, etc. I am simply expressing my disappointment because a 27 was not enough in my own academic experience. A 27 is a great score for many universities, and you shouldn’t feel bad if that’s the highest score you’ve gotten. Also, remember that the ACT is not a measure of intelligence. Please don’t take it the wrong way. I hope this clears things up and that the video is helpful to you. Thanks for watching!
Hi. I’m taking the test tomorrow and it’s my first time and was hoping you can explain why it’s benefiting to not read the passages on the science section if it’s provided for you.
@@faithwilliams9505 Its a bunch of bs info. It's meant to intimidate you and make you overwhelmed when in reality, 99% of the time those huge, long, scary paragraphs, wont help with ANY of the questions. Good luck by the way and ik you'll do well! 😊

I don't know if you still check these , but I'm a senior who's taken the ACT five times now and made a 29 on the first four because my science/math scores were both in the low/mid 20s. The day before my fifth test, I sat myself down and studied those two sections all day and used your videos primarily to help me understand them. My science went from 23 to 35 (like you, I missed one) and math a 31, and I have a 34 overall now. So thank you for that :)
@@pineapples6459 It comes down to what type of college you want to go to. If someone wants to go to Ivy league tier schools they need a 33+ atleast. Ideally a 34.
I favorited this video so I can come back and give feedback on which tips worked and which didn't. Having experimented with other paid ACT prep courses, the key takeaway in all of them is marking up your paper. I think that is going to be the most important piece of advice out of this video is to create a road map for reference within the passage. I'm going to experiment with different markings in the passage (like stars for student 1, circles for student 2) and see which one leads to finding the correct answer more efficiently. Once I identify an effective strategy, I'll start drilling section questions using a timer to replicate the test.
I was predicted to get a 34 on my science but when I did the test I waisted all of my time analyzing all the information before answering the question and got a 21... #retake

Fortnite Edited Hi! While many colleges require the essay portion of the test, I don’t necessarily recommend working to improve your score on the essay in the same way as the other sections. Since you already took it once, you should be fine. Remember, the ACT is a standardized test and follows a programmed answer key, so the scoring of the essay is not necessarily reflective of your writing abilities. In fact, I took the ACT with writing once and got a 7, despite getting a 36 on both reading and English and doing incredibly well in every creative writing opportunity in school and out. Just prove your writing abilities in your actual admissions essay. It’s not worth worrying over. Thanks for watching, and good luck!
