Sis owes you a nice birthday dinner for all of that recent work you did!! 😂😂 Happy Birthday!! I love your channel, you give so much useful information that novices like me can use.
Happy Birthday! It never fails to amaze me how many people NEVER check their fluid levels. My cars have never used a drop of oil but I continue to check my oil, coolant, battery, brake, and transmission fluids monthly. It only takes ten minutes. I also check my tire pressures too. That's just being a responsible car owner. I noticed this guy is driving around on severely worn tires despite winter being just around the corner. Sometimes, I just want to grab people by the shoulders and shake the crap outta them!
Awesome, I'm looking to get myself one. I liked the way yours looked to read out. I appreciate it, and your video!! I'll be doing some research... thanks again!
I honestly feel bad for people who live within the rust belt. Whenever I see rusty vehicles on your channel, ALL I can think about is "Rusteez!! And you too can look like me, KACHOW!!!" lol PS: Happy belated Birthday, man..
In places with cold winter climates its always the passenger side that needs bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, strut...etc... Roads are crowned in the center and water runs and puddles in on the edge of the curb lane. Then it freezes and thaws breaking up the pavement causing potholes. A Monroe rep told me they sell about twice as many passenger side suspension parts than drivers side. Happy belated Birthday! I'm guessing 30?
I wish lol, just turned 36 . Yeah I remember when I was in collision repair classes. They said the front left was most common for problems because of those exact reasons you just mentioned 👍
Happy birthday young man. Now go take your frustration from this job and go play at the range. Put pictures of the capsulated rotor up and go to town...lol 😁
Usually the EVAP leaks in these are related to the fuel sending unit and corrosion around the lock ring. Very common for GM trucks of this era. I tried the purge valve and it did not fix the issue. It was also a major pain to get to. I had misfires in my 2008 Canyon and never completely solved them before I got rid of it. I changed coil packs and plugs but hindsight was that it was likely a leaky fuel injector causing issues when the engine was restarted when slightly warm.
Ok Johnathan I've known you since you were about 12 posting on youtube and I'm trying to guess how young you are . I'm guessing 28 . Did you top up the oil because you know someone was going to ask :) Nice vid bud and happy birthday . Say hello to the wife for me too eh 👍
Lol I'm 36 now, I'm old!!! 🤣 yes I topped off the oil . I actually mentioned that I topped it off but then I accidentally cut it out of the video while editing 😅. The owner drove home with the oil filled . 👍
@@themechanic6117 What a nice guy! I have a tendency to top off obvious fluids like this. I hate hearing the noises caused by low fluids and I know the owners will never know but they keep coming back. I've been watching and rewatching the crx videos to pick up tips. Happy belated birthday!
Yep, its old technology that honda used. Freaking hated that incapsulted rotor design. It isnt really used anymore , but when you see it you know your in for a fight with it most of the time. He got lucky with this one.
@@jeffcompton6937 I didnt say its not used, i said, it really isnt used anymore. Meaning not many vehicles have it. Thats why i also said if you see it, your in for a fight, because generally their a pain in the a$$ to get apart.
In Autozones defense the scanner they have us use takes a guess at the solution. I'm personally more experienced then the other guys and NEVER recommend the repair the print out states will fix the problem. Its not the Autozone employees guessing, its the system. Most of the individuals who work at AZ dont know much about diagnostics and you definitely shouldn't ask them technical questions. Thats what you pay Automotive technicians for not Parts Specialists. If you choose to listen to a AZ employee because you're being cheap you have noone else to blame but yourself. Go to a tech and have it properly diagnosed is your best plan.
💯 percent agree with you. I know it's the system that recommends the parts not the person . To be fair ,guessing a bad purge valve during a evap leak is a pretty good guess . In the video I was more ranting about how customers blindly follow autozones recommendations which like you said comes out to being the customers fault. Thank you for the detailed comment. 👍
@@themechanic6117 you good thanks for this video but can you do a video on what would cause a dipstick to be dry and the oil to start leaking because my truck which is an 04 Chevy Colorado has oil leaking and I don't know why but the engine light came on and I pulled the dipstick out and it was dry so don't know why but there's a leak somewhere so I was hoping you could shed some light
dont ever ask an auto zone employee any thing about car.All they can do is read the computer and point to where the part is in the store. They cant diagnose a fart
You should be Upselling $19.95 Headlight Polishing. 10 minutes. 1 dab of Mother's Mag polish & buff it, follow up with a dab of SPF 40 Suntan lotion. Cost to you= $1.00.
This truck has bald tires, I'm sure he's not worried about polishing headlight. That sounds like something that can be a easy "come back" if the owner thinks the headlights don't look as good as they should. The low price is not worth the headaches.
Lol wobble extention When I'm training the new guys at work I basicly become brain dead 🤣 The detent pin you can grind into a ball to make it a ball detent free tip Friday on a Sunday And that's the worst rotor design I have ever seen. Sure let's pull your wheel bearings in the rust belt to change your rotors
My old age is catching up with me! I'm now 36, maybe that's why I'm forgetting things lol . Thanks, yeah I'll try grinding that pin a little 👍 . I'd be upset if my personal car had a captive rotor 🤣
You really shouldn't be giving away free diagnostics just because the customer says autozone scanned it. And ideally not be installing customer supplied or autozone parts. Legit shops dont.
My diagnosis was not free, I usually like to order my own parts but sometimes the customer shows up with their own. If the cheap part fails soon. I'm not responsible and I make that clear 👍
