My new Bushcraft Shelter Hideout. THE BUILD. Day 1

- There's never a bad time to build a good bushcraft shelter- a place of calm respite, a place to get away from it all.... but now is especially important to get outside, get some fresh air- and GET HAPPY! I've been eyeing this spot for a while and it's time for a new shelter. Big blow-down here has provided a gorgeous amount of timber to use. Shelters need one thing.... A LOT OF MATERIAL! So this spot is gonna be great for building a shelter and also long term use for firewood. PLUS- it's right next to a cool bog and pond..... maybe some fishing is in my future!

Thank you for sharing your life! I pretty much grew up around Manton but I haven't been back since the '80s. Your video reminded me of what Michigan is really about. We're about to buy property near Lake City. My wife and I walked through the woods of the property and I just wanted to sit and listen and smell it all, it felt like I was home again. Its awesome you have your Dads pistol with you,,my dad passed away in 96 and my aunt got his and she just now would love to see i get them,the county i live in it puts you on a 18 month waiting list so i have been waiting soooo long to even get the ball rollin,,,maybe some day i will jump through all the hoops it takes and have his on my side. Hey Brooke! Great to see you and Maisy out and about! To be honest I just wish your videos were longer, no bs. I write and so have to read a lot, so it's nice to just have a head-chill on your channel. No research, no deadlines, no headwork.
It's the equivalent of ambient music in the living-room - but in visual form for the brain to disengage. This is the main reason I watch a lot of bushcraft videos, because I'd probably be clueless in the wild myself lol. This summer though, I do intend to 'Get out and get happy' - your signature line, eh? :-) Happy thoughts :-)

Before my back, knees and hips went bad, I loved going to flea markets and junk/antique stores. I always checked out tools, rustic decor and books. Oh, books. 💙💚💜 One of my last finds was a copy of "Your Own Book of Campcraft" by Catherine T. Hammett of the American Camping Association, 1957 edition. I also found a copy of the "SAS Survival Guide" and I picked up a copy of "The Zombie Survival Guide" at a library book sale, just to round out my knowledge. 👍👍 Love your content, can't do any of it myself now so I live vicariously thru you. 👍👍

By the way I live in Carson City, Nevada and haven't been camping for over 20 years. Used to LOVE camping and fishing, live alone, have no one, disabled in a wheelchair, isolated, very depressed. YOU REALLY MAKE ME HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BEAR IS MY NICK NAME. THE BEARS GONE!!!!!!!

Camping and in the woods now is the best place to be.
A quiet awakening and understanding of your new property. The frogs r great, just love em! I hv a huge collection of them around my home. So no shortage of wood, lots of great future builds and adventures.
Got to tell ya my son Kyle thinks u and i could hv been sisters we r so much alike in so many ways lol. I agree with him. Thx for sharing xo

The area (forest) your in, reminds me of one of my favorite areas here in New Jersey, "The Pine Barrens". Nice job. In this time of covid-19 it was enjoyable to watch someone in the "great outdoors".
