Love how real you are and that you aren’t a fashion label camper. You rock!
thanks!
Me too. I also find the outdoorsy UA-cam channels that are constantly using young women in sexy poses to promote their channels offensive.
Q+
Whats a fashion label camper?
I like that you are frugal, you can cook things from scratch and can sew. A real role model for today’s young people who want to buy everything new. I wish I liked the cold weather, like it warmer, but I’m gonna try getting outside more in winter now that I am retired. It is good for the soul. Great video!
thanks carol!
That was literally my favourite gear video ever. Entertaining, informative and surprising! I'm totally blown away by your creative ingenuity! ♥️
cool thanks!
P
Foraging @ the dumpster, who knew. hahahaha resourceful little pine marten you are...... crazy sooo funny
You are the coolest girl in the woods on the tube!
thanks ben
Thank you for putting this together, Brooke. I love your vlogs, especially with the inclusion of Maisie. Her winter coat looks beautiful...healthy, happy Collie. I have learned a lot from your bushcraft and your creativity. The gear reviews are a kick because you are funny and practical.
thank you!
Wow. You are good at everything! That was such an exciting array of items and you explained it all without weighing it down with too much explanation. You are the real deal with real talent. Your videos make me happy!
thanks susan!
That red coat is one of a kind, just like you are! As frugal as you are about other things, you are allowed the expensive items, after all you have saved so much on the other things.
Love both you and Dave's honesty.
A girl from the thrifty to the many talents enthusiasm to your mindset. To my heart

Hey Brooke,
Callie here.
Thank you for all that neat information on clothing and camping gear and etc! Very useful and super cool!
I wear a lot of cowboy boots myself, I love the brands Justin, Ariat, and Dan Post cowboy boots. But I just love your boots ... Super cool lookin' and useful too! They not only look good, but they do the job! 👍👍
Thank you so very much for sharing Brooke!
Callie from Apple Valley California 🍎
👍👌💓🙂🇺🇸
Great stuff thank you for sharing
these boots are made for walking and of course i love your hats and i like to sit down comfortably , thank you we must be as comfortable as bossable out of our comfort zone . you are defiantly well prepared to survive anything that i can fear . you the woman ! love your work .
I love how you recycle things, and make new stuff out of them, your so resourceful Brooke. It give me ideas! I love how your using all these products made in the USA, Mukluks, Stormy Kromers.
they're the best!
Great reviews, Brooke. Get happy, get happy:)
Brooke - my motto for outdoor gear has always been "buy once - cry once." I love my $700+ "Feathered Friends" sleeping bag (made in the good old USA). They are expensive bags, but once you spend a few miserable nights in a crummy bag you will gladly pay a few extra bucks for a good bag.
totally agree!
Natural fabrics, yard sale, thrift shops, second hand, make it yourself... you speak my language. Saving where we can makes special, pricey goods an occasional treat, especially when they are durable and long-lasting. Thanks!
I used to live and work in Ely when Patti Steger started her mukluk business. I received a prototype pair from her boyfriend for driving him to work. She started the business from their home after Will Steger and Paul Schurke came back from their Arctic expedition.
Cool, their boots are my favorite cold weather gear!💕
Those boots are so beautiful. I will check the link. Nice camping gear. I am thinking of getting the coffee filter.
Thanks brook for sharing i added something i want to definitely get
Great info, thanks
Your talents keep turning up...
Brooke, loved all the gear! 🦋🍎
I was a carpenter for many years in Northern Minnesota and I aways used Kinco gloves. Now that I have been retired for 10 years I still use them, theyare great. I use them when I'm deer hunting, shoveling snow, snowshoing, ice fishing or whatever.I am 75 and 2 other guys and I are planning winter camping trip, the fist weekend of March. We are all green horns at this, so thank you for the tips
awesome have fun!
We Enjoyed your unique fashion show, complete with dance and feather. We love your boots, hat and all your awesome gear.
thanks jill
Look up lixada stainless camping cook cup pot. It has folding handles AND a bail handle for hanging it over the fire.
I LOVE mine for my day pack.
Thank you for your videos. You do so much that I would love to do. To old to cut the mustard anymore but enjoying your joy of life. Keep happy. Far away hugs
Thank you for showing all your gear including clothing! I agree on second hand shops! I've done that all my life. (Mom and Dad took us to local thrift stores) it's amazing what all you can find at them 😃
yesss
Great video Brooke and i love all the additions that you put on your clothing, makes it more special and speaks much about your character and that is the one and only Brooke lol love it and ty for sharing this video 👍💙😆😊...
thanks cheryl!
Love Your Edits ! !

Amazing!!!fun learning🥰,just love your channel,God bless🙏🏻
Love Practical Brooke. Hahaha!!! You set the trends Girl. From the dump is the best!!!
I like Fur hats too. 👍
Love the gear info especially the thrifty stuff. Here in Florida my gear stays the same year round weather dosen't change much I surely can't use the mucklucks. I am about to go on a four day camp trip at a place that I haven't been so I will be enjoying nature and renewing my soul. Thanks Brooke
ohhhh sounds nice!
Very good info... thanks.
Mukluks! Steiger ..... doesn’t get any better. Found out the hard way a million years ago in Alaska wearing bad boots, frost bite on my big toe. Ouch! Thanks to you dear Girl in the Woods, I was able to find these very same boots last year just in time for another cold winter in Bend, Oregon. Keep being real, were all really appreciating you....and Da Woof
sweet!
Thank you for the awesome video!:)
Wanted to let you know I get compliments everytime I wear your hoodie out.Yes I tell them to watch.like all the gear.thrifty stuff.
cool thanks!
Hi, you can sew a replacement cuff on your glove. They used to sell them at fabric stores. Don't know if they still do. Should be able to find them online. You could also try a cuff from some garment you are going to toss out.
Love wool socks and hot rocks in my sleeping bag when it's freezing out or snow camping. Love cotton pants too. I always check out thrift stores for them. I like my neck warmer too, I have gotten some fleece lined neck warmers lately.
I always enjoy your videos lol. So upbeat and informative. I live in Florida so not worried about winter gear. I did see a few items I do need to get. First aid kit is on top of my list. I better get one before my next adventure in March.
awesome thanks!
Love Stegers and Marmot Cwm sleeping bags! We have some in our household and they are top notch.
I have a stormy kromer hat, and love it.
I'm deeply connected to my Mukluks - I made them three Winters ago & hope to have them for a life time! Incredibly warm!!
I Appreciate your attitude and spirit -: outdoor recipes aren't too bad either! - keep up the good and honest content.
awesome!
I'm in the UK, I don't t camp out but used to as a kid, we lived in Yorkshire so it was fairly wild, loved it all, have to be contented to watch you enjoy your camping...x
hi allison in the UK
Love your videos ❤️
Love it as always. I use much of the same gear. I mix up traditional gear and new high tec gear on my trips. Have to go with what works. Definitely will be getting me a pair of the boots for sure. Great video as always Brooke you definitely tweeked the old marble and always a pleasure to watch you. So fun happy and just amazing in the outdoors. Oh, Sooooo loving my Get Outside Get Happy hoodie by the way. I have gotten many comments on it. I just love it. Thanks so much.
awesome thanks!
I love your mukluks and was issued a pair of them along with the rest of our Winter gear. I could not wear the parka and the mukluks since I worked on B-52 aircraft at Minot AFB, North Dakota and off duty this gear came in handy. I have a good sleeping bag which I got from Amazon and it is nice and didn't cost me a fortune, and I also purchased a good mat to go with it.
All of my gear will go inside my backpack except for my sleeping bag and sleeping pad which I have attached to the back of my pack. You have a nice selection of Winter gear and perfect for camping out on land only. The cotton is bad to wear in Winter environment, but certain things I have to wear which is cotton even though I know it is difficult to stay warm once you get wet in the snow, and ice.
cool thanks Sidney!
I'm so excited. My Steger Kodiak Chestnuts boots are in the mail. Can't come soon enough. We woke up to 6" of snow on October 23th! lol
awesome!
Wow. Amazing video. Lot of great info. A true fan. God bless.🌲🌳🌿
Omg Brooke I'm watching your video laughing. Cause you are my Michigan twin. I just love thrift stores. I've always gotten my work clothes there. It's been 24 years but I'm still thrifting. My daughter showed my daughter and I the coolest thrift store she found at college. We had a blast. The finds are fun and amazing!! Stay awesome!!! 👍👍👍I found my husband the coolest father's Day gift at an antique store. 👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂 you never know what you're going to find. 🙏🙏🙏😉😉😉
Thank you for the very well though of your vidows they are amazeing thank you again
Perfect job Brooke on video. LOL from Oregon.
Thrift stores are great for finding good gear at a great discount 👍. I rarely find what I'm looking for but I always find something.
Thrifty "Four Feathers" recommends: packable down, wool, canvas, leather, plaid flannel ... and oh yah... DUCT TAPE!!!
lol and electrical tape
Love your video 💕
O.K...So I don't think I've enjoyed a half hour of someone talking about their camping gear like I did this. Your energy is so infectious. And it was great information. Thanks Brooke BTW. I grew up using an army surplus down mummy bag, Loved it. And I still wear the USMC mummy boots today. 40 years later. I've never had cold feet. But I am digging your Mukluks.
cool thanks!
thanks for sharing the art of (winter) camping.
What a super gear review.
