That piston was really bad. I've seen them shatter before, but haven't seen one get hammer formed into a work of modern art by a valve before. Sucks.

You are incorrect, your cam journals are toast, you need new top cover, cam and rockers..
Yeah, we eventually found that out. We're on the lookout for a top end. Unfortunately that's on the back burner for the moment.
