    Nice video. The curvature that you see in the hull and subsequently the superstructure is called sheer. I've found that to minimize the detachable decks warped appearance required sliding it backwards angled just a tad, thereby landing the aft portion of the superstructure 1st followed by the bridge. It keeps that unsightly gap in the back from showing or becoming so pronounced. Also, don't over tighten the center screws or it bends the deck as well. Cheers

    "Still scale speed" *torpedoes through the water doing maneuvers that would kill more passengers with flying furniture than any iceberg ever could, while casually parting the seas and pushing along a wall of water at least 10 meter high* xD

      “Scale speed” would look ludicrously slow. Titanic cruised at 21 knots (24 mph). Divide by 200 and that’s 0.12 mph. It would be like watching grass grow.

    You actually want to get the waterline about a quarter inch BELOW where the red meets the black. That's the 'antifouling line' where the antifouling paint ends, and that red paint is meant to keep barnacles off the side of the ship. Usually the ship would be riding just below that line to account for wake or other disturbances splashing the barnacles up against the side of the ship. If your waterline is RIGHT at the red paint line, there's no protection just above the water.

    • @ryans413

      @@ministryofanti-feminism1493 I don't think anyone would really want to build one just to save money. Upfront cost can be lower, as you can spread out your purchases as you build. But primarily people who build them would do it because that's a huge part of the fun for them. Obviously that's not true for everyone, so it's great that those people have this option.
      But I thought the same as OP, for that amount and given I'd still change quite a lot of things. I'd rather build my own.

    I got a suggestion for a 2.0 version of that ship (if there ever be one) could you add the watertight bulkheads aka big non roof top walls in the bottom, and if possible could you add an iceberg that can float as well as make a small door at the front right bottom side of the ship and make it open and close to let water in? As well as make it all water proof? That would be amazing if you did that!

    Design flaw; they used unfinished plywood under the superstructure which warps badly and causes excessive sheer (curvature) which looks horrible. The only solution is to drill and glue nuts under the rear deck near the aft part of the superstructure. Drill through the superstructure and deck on top of the main hull so the holes align perfectly. When the nuts are good and dry, screw the aft part of the superstructure down flush. You can heat the bottom of the superstructure with a hairdryer on medium or high heat and it will flatten out so it will be easier to screw down flush. Why they did not add screws to the rear of the superstructure is a good question. Motion didn't have any parts. So I purchased small machine screws and nuts and washers from Home Depot. I glued the nuts to washers before attaching them under the holes drilled in the deck. The washers add extra reinforcement in the area. Maybe overkill but I didn't want any deformities in the deck from warping pressure. Looks much better.

    6:59 In fact, no one knows how many blades the central propeller had. All available photos are photos of Olympic propellers, not Titanic. It is known that the White Star Line Company experimented with different propellers with different numbers of blades. There are reports of this. The three-blade gave more speed, but also more vibration compared to the four-blade. The central screw of the Titanic is hidden under the soil. The central screw did not have a reverse and worked only in the forward direction. The drive was from a steam turbine using exhaust steam after reciprocating engines (the energy of such steam was still enough to spin the steam turbine). Piston engines drove the side propellers.

      I think a few years back, they found a Harland & Wolff Engineering Book with all their Ships Config. Stating that Titanic and Britannic both used 3 Propeller Blades where Olympic used 4 Blades to Test it out. But i think they changed it back afterwards to 3 Blades on the Olympic. ua-cam.com/video/HZrm79glrgE/v-deo.html

    The windows are not cut out properly on A deck, the super structure decks are painted plastic that clash with the wood veneer stuck on rest of the decks. Those square white boxes hiding the retaining screws look ridiculous and the water line is to high. You would be better off building the 1:200 Trumpter kit with wooden deck extras motorizing it.

    • @alainvillesuzanne8613
      @alainvillesuzanne8613 Рік тому

      The Trumpeter is for very experienced modelers and requires hundreds of hours of work, especially when you add the upgrade kits.
      Those who will buy this RC model will do so precisely because it is ready to use, with an amazing level of detail for a model already assembled and painted. This is not the same audience at all. Just like me who, at the same scale, chose the Lego version...😅

      It's simple math. This model is 53.5" long. The real Titanic was 883' long. So first lets convert 883' to inches (883 x 12) which is 10,596". Now divide 10,596 / 53.5 and you get 198.05, or about 1/200 scale.
