I forgot to talk about the new little microphone hats. RØDE made color coordinated cable and mic attachments that match their input in RØDE Connect. they’re super cute.
Hey Patrick, does the rode connect app record separate audio files for each mic, or just one mixed down file?
@@SoulSearchingLG you have the option of both
I have had the tab open for the mics since this was all announced. Very close to purchasing two and hitting the ground running. My thing is - if I start a podcast, I want to go all in, and that's my hesitation. Havin social media channels for it, figuring out how distributing it effectively, signing up for all the platforms, ect ect. Also, I have a UA-cam channel, so it feels like a bit much atm. Why am I telling you my life story?! I have no clue lol
step one is just starting though - the rest falls into place as you go.
Dude, you’re a life saver. Like, I’ve been struggling to figure out how to attach two microphones so my wife and I can make a podcast together.
I love the tiny mics with the colour caps!!! Rode connect seems super cool too! Awesome video as always Patrick! 😁
Thanks a lot for the podcast episodes! I will love to use these ideas in my podcast which I started when I found your how to start a podcast video! Thanks a lot man!
I do remember that video of yours. Imagine, that after watching that video I started doing podcasts! so, it was very inspiring for me! Thanks for the tips, man. Cheers from Italy!
cheers! that's awesome!
Great video! I was convinced right away and just ordered! ✨
Yes! This is awesome. Time to order another NT-USB mini
I forgot how good they sound LOL
Like always, amazing video Patrick! Keep up the amazing work!
THE LEGEND HIMSELF
2:00 You look very, very suspicious
Also, awesome vid mate!
I’m very sneaky
Patrick Tomasso, great video, thank You! One of the best Rode NT USB mini intro video!
Gonna keep this on my list of things to buy. Thanks bro!
Heck ya! Great mic.
Awesome follow to the initial review of the mini… thank you
Question: If you have 4 microphones going through Rhode Connect, can you hear everyone speak through headphones / each other channels ?
One year later and still no support for the Pad.... Come on, Rode! Thank you, Patrick. Great content.
Nice video
What the heck were you doing under the desk????
fake business
@@impatrickt that’s a good band name
Patrick you the Boss . Always you made awesome video for us. Again Thank you .
Cheers, Robert! Thanks for watching.
Awesome tutorial.
🙏
I heard the cable is usb-C on one end and usb-A on the other, which makes no sense, but is that true? If so do we need to be careful about what kind of converter to use? Thanks for all the info!!
i luv the hats
They really are the best part and yet I didn’t even talk about them because I’m a hack.
I had great luck using the Rode Connect app on my Mac but when I tried it on a windows PC, the audio crackled constantly. Any idea of how to fix this?
Off topic - please, is this video shot on S5? Or Blackmagic/Fuji?
this video is entirely S5.
1080 FF 60fps for the B-Roll.
4K FF 24 for the a-roll.
20-60mm kit for the talking head.
FD 50mm F1.4 for the b-roll.
@@impatrickt Wow, thanks for the details! Great & clean footage. I was also looking for some backround pulsing behind your head :) Was it set to manual?
@@ondrejcarda 4K full frame 24fps full AF with eye tracking on at F4. truly it's been working so well I dont even worry anymore.
@@impatrickt 😮👍👍 Maybe you should do short video on focusing with S5 and your settings for talking head shots. It will be 100% useful. I´ve seen many youtubers with S5 and strong pulsing/hunting as they probably leave the focus settings to default or fast. Anyways, great job as usual :) I´ve downloaded also your S5 video from Vimeo and the quality and grading is really great on my 4K screen.
@@ondrejcarda I personally think if you're worried about auto focus and it's crucial to you - you probably shouldn't buy a camera with inconsistent auto focus.
everything in my camera is default. if it doesn't work for them it means it doesn't work for how they use it. it works for me but it might not work for you. too many variables. get a sony if you want to be safe with it. glad you liked the S5 video on Vimeo!
I usually only trust your guidance when you dress in full Pokemon trainer aesthetic, but I'll let it slide just this once
you caught me off duty
@@impatrickt plz make sure this never happens again thx
Can you use multiple microphones with the iPad?
oh right you used to have a podcast
Wow ok time to start a podcast, this is too easy lol
I miss when things were hard and expensive. it gave me reasons to be lazy LOL
@@impatrickt right lol. Now people can just listen to me ramble in another place, perfect 👌🏻
Patrick, so can you tell me how you connect 4 microphones with two ports on an M1 MacBook Pro?
Thanks….
Rodecaster Pro
I want to use my iPhone camera together with the NT USB mini for recording videos and for streaming purposes but I have no idea how to connect the microphone to my phone and then to my hp laptop. Any ideas?
you cant connect the NT USB to an iPhone
@@impatrickt Even if I use the lighting to USB 3 camera adapter?
@@mohammeddimari4769 not that im aware of no it wont work
Nice
Great video ! Just wanted to ask like can you use rode as an audio and don’t zv1 as video for UA-cam ? Also if I connect it with MacBook , so how do i record video for UA-cam ? Because the MacBook camera is not good
QuickTime - file new audio recording
@@impatrickt so how do you use an external camera in that ?
@@RijulSingh25 you have to sync them later
Does this work on iPad? What about those of us who only have an iPad pro?
no its PC/Mac only
Would all of this be possible with the new iPad 9?
has to be USB-C
Can u recorded with 2 usb mini on iPad? At the same time??
no
Hi,
One question, can I connect 2 usb mini to my iPad Pro to record a 2 person podcast?
No
@@impatrickt even with dongles, garage band… ?
@@IgorAnic9 yes even with dongles.
you could probably use something like the Rode AI Micro and get to connect 2 mics at once on iPad Pro setup.
Will this work on ipad Pro?
no the app is for desktop only
Everyone says "you can connect four NT-USB Mini mics" to your laptop. No one that I have found so far, including RODE, shows you *HOW* to do this.
You just plug them in. Not sure what’s confusing? Let me know how I can help.
@@impatrickt Four mics. One port.
@@LittleBurchie what computer only has one port?
@@impatrickt This 4-year-old Macbook Pro sitting on my desk.
@@LittleBurchie get a new computer, bob. you need enough USB ports to plug in the microphones.
