Very good break down of all the systems bought a complete system rls when it came out but got away from it slso back in the day did not take the prep part as the most important aspect as we do now.
What are you doing at the coil condenser and filter dryer still spot brazing or cutting hubs off and just brazing filter dryer thanks

The fitting manufactures have a line of filter dryers with log stubs to press on to. Trane / American Standard / Run True have stems long enough on their equipment to press onto from the factory.

    Very helpful video.
Perhaps you could do an update in terms of using RLS jaws on Milwaukee press tools

How are you pressing to the outdoor unit? I bought the streamline there isn’t enough copper to cut the swage end off and put a fittings in. Fan coils I can cut off and press in side the case.

How do you still feel about them 2 years later? I'm having problems finding RLS at my local suppliers in Michigan

Hi. Thank you for the nicely detailed video. Is there any pictures or videos you can show case some of your installs? Particularly showing the evap & condenser connections. Sounds like you guys are cutting of the female ends off and I’d like to see your method. I been usising the Milwaukee tool for a while now, however never done any acr fittings.
    Thank you!

I’m a lead residential hvac installer and thinking about buying the zoom lock rls 1/4 to 7/8 is it still a good system to use??

So.. can I use my 3/4" in propress jaw for 7/8 zoomlock max fittings?

      They will tell you no
In practice yes it will work

Thank you. I've thought the same as you but never had my hands on a 7/8 fitting to measure.
I'd assume that if the tool nM is the same, then it's just the final crush depth that is of importance.
That and measuring inner diameter is for plumbing.. so your probably right!

What's worse is when I spoke to viega, they said they tried but we're unhappy with the results. They told me the leak rate exceeded what they would like to see, and that all press fittings at the time leaked some... Just within mfg tolerances.

      @rickw4160 Рік тому

If 3/4 propress works for 7/8 zoom lock 1/2 propress works for 5/8 zoom lock and 1" works for 1 1/8... The only size jaws you would need to purchase them are the 1/4, the 3/8, and the 3/4

I am going to buy a press tool for HVAC purposes. I currently have a Ridgid RP 241 tool for plumbing pressing. I see they have jaws for HVAC. Tru Tech Tools has a $500 discount for them. Before I purchase this I would appreciate your feed back. Ultimately I would like to buy the best tool. If RLS jaws for my Ridgid isn't the best then I would buy another brand (gun and jaws) if you think that would be best. You favor the RLS in this video but maybe your thoughts have changed since you filmed this. Thank you. BTW great videos

It would be cool if everybody is on the same standard all these different jaws is the exact reason I don’t want one
