Man I can’t wait to be able to get this
Love the video! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for watching 👀 😀
Be careful with soft/annealed copper, as you mentioned, the prep is the most important part
I have been using the RLS system for a few years. Good stuff. I have the compact Milwaukee press and have the mega press gas jaws and copper press jaws its great.
Very cool
I've wondered about the gas jaws
And how good it works
What the Milwaukee RLS jaw model number for the kit
Awesome tool makes for a quick and easy job
You got that right!
Good review. Definitely, it's in my tool list for the future.
Right on
Gotta love how easy and clean press fittings look! What do you think of that "stay Brite 8" stuff? Keep up the awesome content brother!
I’ve done a lot of research about these products. The price of getting set up with this is way out of range for your average technician. Milwaukee has a tool that uses these fittings. All of the tools are crazy prices. The RLS brand has a better warranty than other products (15 years). I just wish the tools were cheaper.
This was the first one I ever used back in 2018 when I first got into hvac. We were a small company so hardly ever used it bc the price of the fittings. Good to have on special occasions
Include price fittings to your quotes they’ll pay it change your mindset
Great video thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
So the milwaukee m12 force logic short throw press tool is a suitable replacement for this? I guess that tool comes with jaws for Pex and you would have to buy aftermarket jaws for the copper pipe size you want? Is that right? And is the fitting for water the same one you use for refrigerant natural gas etc? Thank you
I'm not sure
Great job and i can see its definitely a great tool just not sure i can justify its price point. Im sure prices will come down soon enough
Hey! Greetings! Excellent video! Thank you for such valuable information. I was wondering where can I get that tool?
Thank you!
check out Rapid locking system .com
Thanks for video Tad! But yes I agree it’s very over priced for most technicians.
Hey thank you for joining make sure you send me an email so I can send you all my guides tadfuller1@gmail.com
Great tool... well explained..don't think you would use this as a give away😂
I may
Remember guys to buy the prop gun that do everything from Hvac to Plumbing
Good point
This was a great video. I hate flares and always braze these fittings.
Those fittings look easy to cut out and braze later when the leaks start.
Very cool presentation Tadd.. how did you figure out that pesky annoying DENT from the Tube Cutter ? Always happens with me. Is there a better way to cut tubing without that cutter ?
I think that I was pressing down too hard and I needed to use the tube and cutters that correct way.
Thank you sir! I have a question. Are the copper lines ever different size on either side of the flare? I may be mistaken but I thought I came across that on a Samsung indoor wall unit .
If so I guess we just make sure we get a reducer.
yes sometimes copper is different size
FYI, the 1/4 line on the Pioneer / Midea units are not 1/4” on the evap side. I learned this the hard way!
Thanks for the great video. My main concern about these fittings is that they might show leaks in systems with sudden temperature changes e.g. a freezer using hot gas as a defrost mechanism. I am afraid if the sudden thermal contraction and expansion can lead to leaks around the fittings. Have you tried it in such systems?
I have not tried it on freezer equipment but I did try on cooler equipment a couple weeks ago.
Nice video. Are you using windex for the leak check?
Soap and water
Love it, but wouldn't use it at my house. Everybody else's house sure lol
Why
How do you remove press fittings to replace an item
Cut the copper next to the press fitting
Do you plan on charging for use of the press tool due to the time savings?
I charge for the fittings for sure
Thanks for the video. What is the kilo newton thrust on that tool. Mine is a 19kn. Is yours a 15kn???
I love that thing! What can you tell us about zoom lock max?
32 kn
Wow that awesome. Did Parker go with the zoom lock max jaws and fittings?
Those are some expensive fittings. But for what HVAC techs make, they probably pay for themselves in time savings.
R,L,S, is taking overall
I am wondering how well this will hold up to the vibration, thermal cycling, and o-ring deterioration over the course of a normal product lifetime.?
Also is there a way to undo these couplings besides cutting them off in case they do start leaking?
I'm pretty sure I would have to cut them off if they leaked.
"Ohhh Rigid."
435 psi on indoor coil now that would scare me, what is the low and high test design pressure?
Samsung actually recommends that the pressure that you test should be at least five hundred and ninety p s I.
@@TaddyDigest oh wow good for Samsung if it handles 590 it can surely handle the few hundred that it runs on the regular
The fittings are way to much money. Can’t really charge the costumer for this unless you give them the choice
Over 100% markup on the fittings to the customer? That’s a rip off
If a fitting cost five dollars and you mark it up to ten, that's not a rip off
Ridiculously over priced for such old tech. To bad. They try to sell it off as a labor time saver. Oxy\acty for me. Even the fittings are crazy money. Never did buy into this
Got it thank you for the experience and your knowledge
you missed the mark...
So, where's the "Hack" part from the title bro? To me that suggest that there's something special that you can do to make using this tool easier or to get around a known problem. All this was, was a demo of the tool. Which is fine, but the title is a little click baitey. 🤔 🤦♂️
