You did a great job. I watched while sitting in my doll room doing the same thing. I have my dolls from the 80s and even though they have been in a trunk stored they needed some spa time. My granddaughter and I have a UA-cam channel but only 100 subscribers but I would like to record makeovers too, but it’s really hard. Your dolls look great!!❤
Awww thank you so much for watching!! I would LOVE to see your makeovers!!! It is hard making videos and recording the process :( but you can do it! I bet your dolls look amazing!!! Xoxo
8:10 is giving dallas cowgirl cheerleader vibes. She's so cute! Usually whenever I get a doll with hair that badly cut, she ends up being a hair/body donor. You did a great job sprucing them up!
First off, I thought you using a needle and thread to add hair to the first doll was brilliant. I would've never thought of that! ❤❤ Next, the girl with the short hair that you styled with like the up flip is adorable. I love the shortness of her hair, the styling and love, and love the western outfit on her. Also, thank you for showing how to crimp hair. I always wondered how that was done on a Barbie. I have you get a crimper. Is there one you recommend to purchase. I love watching doll restorations. I just purchased 3 dolls at Goodwill yesterday and fixed a broken neck on one of them and styled all 3 of them and dressed them. I will post on my instagram this week. Keep up the great work, Grant. Don't apologize for learning. Some of us appreciate your tutorials and learning right along with you. You are awesome!❤
Omg thank you so so much !!!! Def pick out a crimper that has adjustable heat settings so that it doesn’t melt the dolls hair and def to a strand test first when you do !!! I put a link in the description for the one I used in this video :) but again any with heat controls should be the!! Thank you so much again. And yay I’m so excited to see them on instagram !!!!! Thank you xoxox

@@dolls2remember that would be amazing! i just bought some early 70s barbie’s and i wanted to make hairstyles from that era for them but don’t know how. that would be great! and 90s puffy hair too, you have no idea how many times i’ve tried to make that but failed 🥲

You should just get a rerooting tool and buy some different shades of blonde doll hair. When you run into missing hair on your next bunch of dolls you can use some new hair on them. I swear it's much easier then cannibalizing hair from the back of their head. It also is a lot of fun just to reroot the whole head with fresh new hair of your choosing. I also love cleaning up second hand dolls. Love your videos by the way .
Aw thank you so much for watching! And Yes I need some extra hair !! She had kanekalon hair so I didn’t know where to find any! I am excited to do some proper reroots in the future!! Thanks again!! Xoxo
you probably already know what I'm going to say but THE WESTERN BARBIE IS SO CUTE! She is definitely my fave, I love the hairstyle, it's so adorable and very Farrah Fawcett.
Hi Luv,I love seeing how others transform their dolls, and you can get some inspiration from others so when you get that one trouble some doll that you’ve tried everything with you have more options. I love buying 70s -early 2000s dolls and restyling them. It’s so fabulous. I love the western Barbie in blue she is gorgeous.
Aw thank you so so much Monica! So glad to hear from you :) hope you are doing well!! That sounds awesome! I wish I could see yours- I bet they’re amazing!!
@@dolls2remember I have around 1000 + dolls, they helped me get out of a deep depression. As a little kid I only had one Barbie she was day to night Barbie, we were really poor, I always begged my mom for Barbie dolls but it just didn’t happen for me and it made me so sad as a child,so as a adult I just started collecting them, the Barbie extra line got me back into collecting Barbie’s again after taking a break for years

this was a fun video I really liked the cow girl look you gave the shorter hair barbie i thought it was kinda cute how you positioned her hands behind her back a moment. i wished there was a way to keep it that way. I didn't recognize the Wet N wild barbie at all. i have that doll and she looks like a whole new girl after you fixed her hair. i will be trying to use the wet, gel and curl method for a rare Takara Mama Chan Aka Rika Chan aka Licca chan's Mom doll I found. she has this Bette Davis as Margo From " All about eve" going on but the back needs to be fixed so I'm going to try and maintain the style while I clean her but also try and fixed that one little curl in the back that's out of wack.
Absolutely love thier glowups. Really love the blonde with the short hair looks like the characters from the 70s tv shows threes company or Charlie's angels. I'm learning a lot from your restyles. I recently redid my thrifted rainbow high amaya rain 20inch doll's hair and used diluted fabric softener and a comb. Took forever. Most of my dolls are second hand thrifted so I end up restoring thier hair. Really want to try a reroot or wig from yarn wiffs. I always wanted to be a cosmetologist and couldn't do it, but I settle for doing my dolls hair instead. 💇♀️
Awww thank you so much!!!! Wow I’m glad to hear that!!! The fabric softener works great!! But yes it can take soooo long to get the hair nice and clear 😭😭 and I love restoring thrifted dolls!!! Excited to hear how ur reroot or wigs turn out!!! And same!!!! I love doing our dolls hair!
The short haired one turned out so good! They all did, but I was relly wondering how that cut hair would turn out. Very flattering choice of hairstyle for her, very cute! I totally get your filming the process struggles. Getting camera angles right while trying to do things with one hand can be such a hassle when one just want to enjoy the restoration process. I thought you had a nice balance in this video, like sharing that hair transplant trick, but not going through every step of every doll in detail. Thanks for sharing your pretty results!
Wow 🤩😍 these restorations were just amazing! Your video just popped up and I’m so glad it did! I have quite a few dolls that need a lot of restoration and their hair styles I love how you turned a chopped hair Barbie into such a cute hairstyle ❤ also that rerooting hack and hair transplant is an INGENIOUS IDEA!! My childhood Jewel Hair Barbie Teresa is a victim of having her bangs chopped off by my niece and I did not know how I was going to fix her I didn’t want to buy new fake hair because it’s so hard to find a match and also I didn’t want to reroot her whole head so this was a lifesaver!! Thank you thank you thank you!! ❤🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awww thank you!!! This particular heating tool has adjustable temperature settings so I’m able to use a very low setting! It’s fabulous! The link is in the description :)
I recently started using baby shampoo it is gentle on the doll hair and makes it really soft I also read somewhere that baby shampoo has enzymes in it that get rid of specific odors like from being stored or just old in general, then use a little bit of conditioner at a time and work through the hair and brush adding a little conditioner as you go then rinse the conditioner really good because if you leave in any conditioner the hair will be greasy.
Pro Tip: Don't use fabric softener because it makes the hair fibers more poofy and frizzy. I also makes the fibers less strong and tight. Another Pro Tip: You should use conditioner better because it makes the hair soft.
heat tools can TOTALLY ruin a barbie, unless the heat tool is temperature adjustable and can be adjusted to very very low heat settings. always use low heat!!! otherwise, yes, they can melt the barbies hair!

I've never seen that needle and thread rooting method
I’ve seen something like it similar before so I figured it’d be the best way to do it!!!
Pro Tip: Don't use fabric softener because it makes the hair fibers more poofy and frizzy. I also makes the fibers less strong and tight.
Another Pro Tip: You should use conditioner better because it makes the hair soft.
Ahhh!! I had no idea- thank you so so much, I will be using conditioner going forward
