      I had such a laugh over that too. There is an old clip of Richard Simmons being interviewed by Bonnie Hunt, who asks him if he is afraid he will get up one night and all his dolls will start talking to him, and he says, "I hope one day they will!!"

    I love your comments and small snippets of videos !!! Hysterical … I love your knowledge of doll restoration. It has helped me understand what the heck I’m going to do now that I restore Barbie’s and now Terri Lee dolls … I also just repaired a beautiful Terri Lee doll 11 inch dress . It’s amazing . I want to learn to sew clothes but egad I’m all thumbs . I also love your Barbie videos !!! Amazing knowledge!!! I fix Barbie dolls as well and I’ve definitely learned a few tricks from you . Thank you so much.

      Aww thank you so much for being here!!:) Terri Lee gowns are on another level. I love them! I love to sew, you can try easy patterns perhaps?:) and it’s all about the fabric you choose. That can make a simple pattern look expensive! I think I’ll do a video with patterns. Should be different and fun!

    I feel the struggle with ironing. I don’t know how many times I’ve felt so pleased with how well I cleaned and restored a piece of doll clothing, only to make it look like a complete flop with my ironing. Sometimes I put more creases in than I take out.

    • @disneybarbiegirl615

    I wish I could have seen this video earlier!! I just left a comment about how cool it was that you also restored 1950’s dolls and right after that, this video came out! This has definitely been one of my favorite of your videos as a mostly 50’s collector dolls wise. I love Toni dolls, I have wanted one for a while now but after seeing this I want one so much more, I had no idea she had all those little things to do her hair!! It’s so convenient for a person restoring dolls to have a whole little book thing to tell you how to do it, and it’s from the time period!! Also I totally relate to the scary doll stuff, it’s so annoying. Thank you for making this, I love your channel!!

    I think she turned out lovely. I don't collect dolls of this type, but I have an appreciation for all dolls to some degree, and their place in history is a part of that. I just have to at least try to remain somewhat focused in my collecting, I like too many different doll lines as it is, I could never be a one-brand doll collector. That said, I would love to play with this doll's hair, you're making me want one. 😁

    • @disneybarbiegirl615
      @disneybarbiegirl615  3 місяці тому

      I will say, she is a bunch of fun. Especially if you play with her like she was intended and you do exactly what the instructions say. You honestly could do this with any dolls with high quality nylon hair. Saran hair dolls probably wouldn’t work as well with, as their hair is very heavy

  • @louie2s
    @louie2s 3 місяці тому

    Lovely restoration. I have two Toni's but they are only the 14 inch and still waiting for me to get up the nerve to do their hair. For doll dresses they are easier to iron while still damp, no steam, the ironing will help dry them. A small iron makes it easier. The puff sleeves are easiest to do by stuffing the sleeve with tissue paper to fill it out and then let it dry, no ironing needed on the sleeves.

    This reminds me of Kenya by Tyco. She was a hair play doll advertised to black children in 92. You could curl, braid (she came with beads to put on them) and straighten her hair with a "magic lotion" which I never found out what it actually was haha! Idk something to look into, I guess. I think you'll have fun doing her hair if you ever got one.

    Also, I can't remember what state you're in, or if you ever said, but I live in Virginia. I *think* in the south doll collecting is more accepted. Are there more doll collectors in the south? I don't know, but I've often wondered that, bc most of the time people don't bat an eye when you say you collect dolls. If they don't collect, they usually know someone who does so it's not weird to them. Thought you or someone else here might find that interesting. If anyone reads this and you're in the south, please comment to me... are there more of us in the south? 🤔😊

I would just cry and cry it was so awful. She gave me several perms until I finally convinced her that I love my straight hair. Ah memories. Mom is still alive at 93 and still getting her perms.
