    Thank you so much for the helpful walkthrough! Without your video, I wouldn't have known what was causing my faucet to drip or how to fix it! I received the free replacement part from Delta today, installed it, and the leak is fixed!

    Thanks for the video. I have the identical drip and sweet spot issue with the identical Delta faucet that you featured. It must be a very common failure point. I called Delta this morning and they are mailing me the replacement parts so I have them within a week. 👍👍

    This is all well and good. The only problem is the set screw corrodes and seal into the handle and you can’t get the handle off. So now I’m stuck buying a whole new faucet just because the handle won’t come off. I tried everything including scraping the outer edges of the hole around the screw and soaking in blaster for hours. . It’s essentially soldered in place.I can try drilling the set screw out. But if I want to do this, I have to hope it doesn’t wreck the threads. Great fun. I’m positive this has happened to a lot of people and wish they would address this problem in the videos.

      Update: Ended up drilling the screw out and now there are no threads for a set screw. Consider yourself warned. If the faucet is a few years old it might be corroded around the set screw and you might not be able to remove it without drilling.

      I think there is a lifetime warranty on these faucets so definitely contact the company.

    Ok, here's the deal. Just all of a sudden my faucet wouldn't turn off. Coincidentally, the faucet got cranky just a few hours after I had detected a moldy smell coming from the sink and had emptied the cabinet below of all the cleaning supplies etc, inspected for any leaks with my HP flashlight, pulled up the rubber shelf liner, swept up all the crumby stuff down there under the dishwasher lines, disposal lines, etc, gave it all a good spray with Lysol, and as if by black magic a few hours later the faucet wouldn't turn off. Just like that. Go figure. I refused to panic over this minor problem in the same manner as the novice I was six years ago when the predecessor faucet blew off like a Yellowstone guyser straight up in the air just two weeks after I bought the house. No, no shaking sweaty hands, beads of perspiration, skyrocketing blood pressure... nope, ain't falling for that soap opera drama this time. I got out the CLR and cleaned all the calcified deposits off hoping it would change its evil ways and start acting right, but noooo, the naughty faucet still wouldn't turn off without patiently easing the handle around looking for the sweet spot to stop running. Aha! I knew there was a reason I saved the Delta box in the garage all this time! Calling for my FREE cartridge and will try to "be handy" with your fine video! Thank you... great job on this presentation! Much appreciated.

      Just used this vid to replace the cartridge in my Delta faucet, which was about 7 years old. Different model, but configured exactly the same with handle on the side. Worked perfectly!

    • @garvin85
      @garvin85 11 місяців тому

      There's a gray plastic cylinder tool that has teeth on top that fits into the screen where the water comes out. Use that like a screwdriver to remove that screen filter.

    I did this and it’s still dripping…any other points of failure to consider? Is it possible the cartridge isn’t seated properly?

    Hello, thanks for the video Im going to try this when the delta part arrives. I have a question thought I had a plumber tell me water sits in the line and thats why my brand new faucet is dripping. Is this true?

    • @TightWadDIY
      @TightWadDIY  10 місяців тому +1

      Water is always in the line but that’s not why it’s dripping.

    Thanks so much for this video. I had the same problem as you and had resigned myself to purchasing a new faucet until I saw this video. It took numerous email attempts to get a first response from Delta then numerous attempts after that before they acknowledged that I was being sent a replacement. I think that it took me longer to find the tools than it did to do the replacement install but it works great now. Thanks again!

    Oh thank GOODNESS for this video! Our Delta faucet has been doing this for 3 weeks and I can't take it anymore! I thought we were going to have to buy a whole new set up. I was looking at faucets and I am just SICK over the prices I'm seeing! $179-$300 for a stinkin' FAUCET!!! I had NO IDEA this part could be changed out and that Delta had a lifetime warranty! I don't hae the receipt for the faucet though. We got it about 5 years ago. If they won't give me the cartridge, I'll just buy it on my own. AGAIN...THANK YOU!!!
