The Benelli Leoncino 250 was launched in India in early October 2019 for a price of Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Leoncino 250 is styled similar to its elder sibling, the Leoncino 500, but gets a different oval headlight and graphics schemes. While the two bikes may appear similar, the Leoncino 250 has all-new underpinnings with the steel trellis frame, suspension and swingarm all unique to the smaller lion cub. The Leoncino’s 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine is from the older Benelli TNT 25, and while this engine has a slightly lower output abroad due to Euro 4 certification, the Leoncino 250 produces 25.8PS and 21Nm in India. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Also unique to the Leoncino 250 is a new all-digital instrument cluster. This, along with full-LED lighting and standard dual-channel ABS, means that the Leoncino 250 is a well-equipped motorcycle. However, considering that its biggest competition comes from motorcycles like the KTM 250 Duke and Suzuki Gixxer 250, both of which are much cheaper and more powerful, we can’t help thinking that Benelli has priced the Leoncino 250 rather high. The closest competitor in terms of price is the Honda's CB 300R, but at Rs 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom, India) even this bike is slightly cheaper and a fair bit more powerful than the Leoncino.

Very comprehensive review. I own one, everything you said is approved by me and is totally true. Haha. Btw, in Malaysia, this bike is way cheaper than the KTM 250 duke. So, for us in Malaysia, compared to the price, this bike is way more relevant than the duke Even the spec sheets is not as good as the duke, it is still a joy every time i ride it. The ride comfort is totally depend on the size of the rider. I am 5'5", and i think is suits me well. Btw, i choose this bike over the other is because of the looks. Kinda neo- classic, scrambler, cafe racer all mixed. And i think this kind of design will still looks good in 20 years.
Yup, i own a leoncino 250, and im Malaysian too. It's comfortable enough for daily commute to KL and the price is way better than the duke 250. I've drove it up to 6000km right before the movement control order.
if it puts a smile on your face then its the best bike in the world for you ...happy riding
in term of top speed,leoncino250 is much faster than duke250 (based on other malaysia youtubers). since duke250 is more to torque type and targeted for in-city daily ride..whilst leoncino for crusing and long ride..depends on the usage and road condition as well.
Absolutely true about the looks. Full fairing sport bikes look great when they're new but in 20 years they look very old. The Leoncino will look the same in 20 years time as this kind of design aesthetics never gets old, haha.

Great review. In Malaysia, this bike is the cheapest of its class. The CB300R is almost double of the Leoncino 250’s price. Currently the NS200 is the best bang for bucks for beginner bikes but I think the Leoncino will make a good competitor

Engine displacement isn't always a factor of comparison, its the genre. Don't you think Leoncino should be compared to CB300R and not with Duke? The Honda is similarly priced and has a neo-retro style too!

I own and ride the Benelli leoncino 250 for a month now and i can say its pretty good and enjoyable but i would love if we can see some aftermarket parts soon enough cause nothing exists at the moment

@@remeezreshi1365 Well its pretty good very nice sitting position comfortable for long rides, can easily ride with a 2nd person, power delivery is ok , i like the handling alot the tyres are big for a 250 and it provides good grip , brakes could be better, as for the exhaust it does sound really good and i will be installing an akrapovic gp slip on in a few days and im thinking of posting a video for it

@@Achilles-wd2dy Hey mate i would say its pretty reliable and durable so far i only did the normal oil change so far and it runs perfectly the only downsides i can say by now is that its Perfect for town riding but on the highway not so much i dont quite enjoy it at all but yeah its a pretty good bike and if your going to ride around town alot you will enjoy the bike for sure

Not really , because of their poor sales and service network it was never considered to be a contender.. Mahindra already started making profit out of Mojo mill via Jawa and Soon to get Yezdi and BSA

I feel like these reviews are for bike and car enthusiasts rather than regular consumers. I've been watching a lot of Autocar India and zigwheel reviews because I wanted to buy a vehicle. I think you guys should test these vehicles in day to day conditions and traffic. 50% of the every review is all about power as a regular consumer I don't care about power.

@@veer431 Sometimes it's just about the brand dude. The dominar is a kick ass bike with lots of features and performance,but it struggles in the market. Royal Enfield has been milking the classic 350 for the past 10 years. Yet,in spite of all the heap of issues and lack of features,the demand still rises. KTM is good in both the aspects. This leoncino 250 is a disappointment, but Benelli is a premium brand,with most of their 300cc s costing about 3-4lakhs on road,just like a ninja.
Some guys will purchase it just for the brand it represents. Why do you buy an iPhone? Coz it's Apple, that's why.

Your comparison is not fair, try comparing with other cafe racer/cruise bikes like Thunderbird, RE classic, Jawa etc. Also, the price would be coming down when they start manufacturing parts in India, right now it's a complete import with original quality.

Better bikes out there than this. Apart from looks and exhaust note (which the Benelli's are known for) it can't really make a case for itself.

Its quite clear. If you aren't for neo retro than this benelli is not even close to a choice compared to duke 250. If you are for neo retro, then you can always save a bit more and go for cb300r.
