You honestly just have to love the mvc community. The amount of appreciation we have for the games is beautiful. Thank you Max and the team for making mvci stand out.

Max have tried to drag KI out and have had some success. Max is now trying to drag MvCI into some success. I feel so happy to have been with Max for a long time and see how much our dood has given a lot of boost to the fgc and casuals alike

Umvc3 community edition is going strong with new characters being added all the time and the modding communities for sf6 and other Capcom games are thriving. They've always just kind of let things happen (not counting that time Chun li's tits were out during an sf6 tournament because someone forgot to turn off their nude mods lol)
As much as I loved the particle effects on Gamora's moves, I'd argue venom looks the best thus far. The motion blur and lighting adjustment looks so unique in the best kind of way on his moves and I can completely tell what is happening on screen at all points in time. I can't speak enough praise for him as this is probably my favorite version of venom in any game now. The same can be said for Jedah as well, a vastly needed improvement over his MVCI rendition. Dante though is still coming out a tad orangey for some reason.
I love how much he maxamillion clearly loves this game, just him playing it he enjoys it, and him getting together a group to make the game look better is amazing to see

I love this. I had no problems with MVC:I vanilla, but I understand that the community has their critics. So seeing the game given a new light to still enjoy some good ole fighting games is awesome to see. Keep it up good people.

If Iron Man’s voice can be changed to his Marvel 3 voice, can you revert Spider-Man’s as well? I know his VA voices him in one of the cartoons but he sounds like a 2000’s toy commercial guy and I don’t like it as much as his Marvel 3 VA
I'm loving the bit of red shading/highlighting on Venom that's from the 90's animated series. It always made sense to me that he'd have a bit of the red hue when you factored in the fact that Venom spawns the Carnage symbiote, which we all know is red and black. It was a fantastic piece of foreshadowing for those who picked up on WHY he has the red in the cartoon. That was a brilliant call guys. I can't wait for this!
Havent watched full video yet but I have to say, AMAZING WORK to everyone on the project. Ryn and others did outstanding work on the models and the shaders, Ryu looks so good and clean it mind bogging. I hope this project is able to smoothly continue and that these people are paid for their work. MVCI is one my still fav fighting games to just mess around in training mode and I love to see some of my favs (gamora) with work done to them
Dude the animated series rim lighting on Venom looks INCREDIBLE in motion, I love it. And just in general he looks like alien goo again instead of a big hunk of plastic. Wow. Gamora looks good but my money's on Venom at the moment.
I bought MVCI on humble bundle a while back, and now we wait. It really is incredible the work that has been done in one mere month. I love seeing the 4p mode and voice changes (would like to see that changed for some other characters as well, like Spidey) which are some of the things I'm most excited to see. Yes thank you for the X buffs. He definitely needs it. My comments on the buffs and further suggestions as X main. 1 Rising Fire: Its really great that it has omni pierce in Armor though it could definitely use a durability upgrade in not armor as well. That's a huge meaty projectile X shoots... for it to be canceled and beat by Dante's single bullet or any projectile is absurd. 2 Sonic Slicer: Hitbox is already mentioned in the patch notes, however I hope it fixes one big issue. The projectile has such a weird angle that it goes above standing opponents from far and below opponents air dashing towards you. I hope the hitbox is good enough to hit opponents air dashing towards you from ground. Another hitbox issue with Sonic Slicer is that if you do it close enough to an opponent dash hugging you on ground, lol the projectile spawn behind opponent and never hit them :D. I hope it can hit ground opponents from hug distance now. The stun increase on Sonic Slicer is a much needed change. Its not even funny that X can get punished for landing the move on opponent upclose on ground... the stun was that less. EX Sonic Slicer gaining more knockback and OTG knockdown is great. X doesn't have many tools that he can just spam combo with from far like others can do such as Hawkeye. While Sonic Slicer combo routes may change, they were harder to pull off than most other routes anyway and risk of drops was there. I believe this will close some Sonic Slicer routes but at the same time open up more Sonic Slicer routes than it closed while adding that neutral and tag comboing potential which is just great. 3 Ice frozen state to match other chars is a much needed buff too. As usual, X had weird angle on his projectile and outside of combos, its much harder to land the ice in neutral. Not only will this make it more rewarding to land it as you can possibly combo from far off it, but now X will also have easier time ice restanding and ice restanding assists just like Dante, Hawkeye, Zero etc. SOME MORE SUGGESTIONS WITHIN CURRENT X MOVESET AND NO MAJOR ALTERATIONS 1 Like Iron Man, X also has a pretty next to useless move. His Buster>LK backhop. See if we can make that more interesting. Maybe replace it with a backdash or make the hop faster or make the hop air dash/air special cancellable. 2 For a projectile character, X's air game and superjump space projectile game is heavily lacking. I think it would be great if we could make some of his existing projectiles other than buster air okay and do something crazy fun with it. Wonder if its possible Air okay Boomerang and get crazy angles with it or make an air okay Sonic Slicer that goes downward diagonal instead or make air buster cancellable into air dash etc. 3 Make first several frames of Rising fire all versions fully invincible. For a character with 9K HP, mediocre projectile game and no wakeup reversals other than Lvl3. I think X could use one. Others like Zero has his Lvl 1, and 10K HP chars like Cap and Ryu have their DPs. In addition, extend hitbox of Rising Fire slightly ahead. This will allow X to not automatically succumb the moment he's knocked down. 4 Upgrade to his Lvl 3. Initially I thought give him a dash connect but that would require a lot of work and technically making a new move. Instead why not give him a full screen hitbox on his barrier to connect with the Lvl 3? Is it OP? No. Because other characters like Arthur Lvl 3 or Magneto LVl 3 from MVCI are also as good as full screen Lvl 3s, then you've got Lvl 1s like Venom and Hawkeye's which can be avoided but feel full screenish. This is Mahvel and I think its totally fine. The barrier connect extending full screen and making the screen purplish would also look essentially look like X used DarkHold from MMX5 where he stops time. 5 X not losing charge when landing on ground from air in charged state.
The first thing that came to my mind when a saw Venon was: "hey his shade looks like the one from the 90's animated series", then Max says: "Yeah, we decide to use his shade from the 90's cartoon" soon after 😂
I love how the shader gives that comic book like appearance with the dots. I remember playing MVCI for the first time and being sooo upset. Looking forward to this!

This is incredible work. The character model updates are worlds better than the first look. Great work, all! Can the shader be applied to the backgrounds? Right now what's most jarring is the differing style between the characters and the bg. I wonder how the shader would look. Alomg the same lines, some of the shader is looking a bit *too* contrasty, so pulling that back 10-15% would be an interesting contrast to see.
They removed the dog and shininess on some stages. Removed the vignetting(the blurry black vaseline on the corners of the screen) and lowered some of the texture to make the characters pop out. They're doing subtle things and until they can get their hands on someone willing to mess around with the BG, it might not be a priority for them.
As a Chris player, I am so happy that they fixed the issues with him. I'd prefer if they throw Chris a few more needed buffs but this is a step in the right direction.
@maximilian careful modifying the tag in mechanic. In mvci, if you hold down the throw button while your opponent tags in, you instantly throw him out of the tag. If you make it 2f slower, you might break this mechanic and making your character heavy punch and punishing you instead. Make sure the throw always comes out.
As you can see from the iron man vs iron man part of the presentation, the mod works on a model per model basis. Meaning, the hitsparks and screen shake might be tied to individual character. Right now, like they said, they're trying to find a way to automate the process and not have your lead modder spend time hand painting the meshes, Max said they would rather they just spend time fine tuning and polishing instead. Once they get that figured out, they can look into it.
Glad to see mods becoming so widespread after Project M, MUGEN and Fightcade mods smashed the door open off major gameplay mods becoming what they are in modern fighting games. It is the most exciting time to be a fighting game fan with that AND rollback netcode.
The project M of MVCI, gotta love it.

3 Make first several frames of Rising fire all versions fully invincible. For a character with 9K HP, mediocre projectile game and no wakeup reversals other than Lvl3. I think X could use one. Others like Zero has his Lvl 1, and 10K HP chars like Cap and Ryu have their DPs. In addition, extend hitbox of Rising Fire slightly ahead. This will allow X to not automatically succumb the moment he's knocked down.
4 Upgrade to his Lvl 3. Initially I thought give him a dash connect but that would require a lot of work and technically making a new move. Instead why not give him a full screen hitbox on his barrier to connect with the Lvl 3? Is it OP? No. Because other characters like Arthur Lvl 3 or Magneto LVl 3 from MVCI are also as good as full screen Lvl 3s, then you've got Lvl 1s like Venom and Hawkeye's which can be avoided but feel full screenish. This is Mahvel and I think its totally fine. The barrier connect extending full screen and making the screen purplish would also look essentially look like X used DarkHold from MMX5 where he stops time.

Can the shader be applied to the backgrounds? Right now what's most jarring is the differing style between the characters and the bg. I wonder how the shader would look. Alomg the same lines, some of the shader is looking a bit *too* contrasty, so pulling that back 10-15% would be an interesting contrast to see.
Not crapping on the work done, mind you. Way better than I could do and very impressive, just sharing some thoughts.
They removed the dog and shininess on some stages. Removed the vignetting(the blurry black vaseline on the corners of the screen) and lowered some of the texture to make the characters pop out.
They're doing subtle things and until they can get their hands on someone willing to mess around with the BG, it might not be a priority for them.

As a Chris player, I am so happy that they fixed the issues with him. I'd prefer if they throw Chris a few more needed buffs but this is a step in the right direction.
@maximilian careful modifying the tag in mechanic. In mvci, if you hold down the throw button while your opponent tags in, you instantly throw him out of the tag. If you make it 2f slower, you might break this mechanic and making your character heavy punch and punishing you instead. Make sure the throw always comes out.
this is honestly the coolest modding effort ever put into a VS game; you, Ryn, and the rest of the crew are legends for doing this.

One of the biggest flaw in mvci is the lack of camera shaking. Is it hard to mod?
It would probably require changes on a per attack basis, quite tedious I would think.
As you can see from the iron man vs iron man part of the presentation, the mod works on a model per model basis. Meaning, the hitsparks and screen shake might be tied to individual character.
Right now, like they said, they're trying to find a way to automate the process and not have your lead modder spend time hand painting the meshes, Max said they would rather they just spend time fine tuning and polishing instead.
Once they get that figured out, they can look into it.
Glad to see mods becoming so widespread after Project M, MUGEN and Fightcade mods smashed the door open off major gameplay mods becoming what they are in modern fighting games. It is the most exciting time to be a fighting game fan with that AND rollback netcode.
