    British food gets an undeservedly bad rap (at least in America) but an Indian cook giving her recipe for a classic British dish is pretty much the highest compliment possible. lol

      British food used to have a bad rap but there are so many great restaurants opening up now. We have some amazing producers too.

    Roast dinners are labour intensive; lots of timing, parts to coordinate, and washing up. And you did it on camera! I love how you did this in real time. It’s clear you’ve made this many times before Chetna! Such a good idea to roast the chicken on a bed of veg…and use these to make the gravy. I’m going to make this next week. I’m not as brave and will probably prep some things ahead though, like par-boiling the potatoes and some veggies. Thanks for all your hard work Chetna!

    Can't be arsed! Haha.I live with a guy who is so unadventurous, every week I go to the new Indian shop here in Wexford RoI and buy herbs and spices, can't wait till my appartment is finished. Lamb biriani, tadka dall, bindi badghi, home made naan, chutneys and riata. With my son and good friends. Thanks Chetna I've learned so much watching you.

    Hi Chetna . Looked really nice and I won’t be using gravy granules again. The Yorkshire pudding’s look so delicious but can t eat them as allergic to dairy. Also you putting flour on the pogoes I never knew that’s how to get them crispy . Learn so much from this vlog. All the times I been cooking roast never knew half the things you shown today so thank you. ( Do feel sorry for the sprouts) love sprouts with a roast dinner. Can I ask what do u do with the rest off the mashed up veg u used for gravy after you sieved it.

    Chetna, we made the chickpea spinach purée from your cookbook for our friends Friday night. It was a big hit! My son’s friend even asked to have what was leftover. It was delicious, spicy but not hot. Thanks!

    Tomorrow we will make a Chicken Casserole with left over Chicken if there is enough! Otherwise we will have Chicken and Branston Pickle Sandwiches in Whole meal brown bread of course🤗

    That looks delicious .However,the amount of oil used in the roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding is far too generous

      Roast potatoes need a lot of oil otherwise they simply dry out, break apart, and burn. The oil gives the crispy outside and prevents burning... frankly if you're concerned about consuming too much oil, I just wouldn't make roast potatoes

      This is not everyday fare but once in a while treat. You do need indulgence once in a while don't you? Otherwise life would be boring.
