The meta of Ultimate has beautifully evolved into just choosing whichever character makes you happy. It’s not about top tiers anymore, it’s just about playing what character is fun to you, and I really like that :)

@Gustavo Vasconcelos correction, His 1st was Corrin before anything else. Then it was Byleth on release day. So it's a timing difference. Byleth was not in the previous smash bros games, therefore there was no opportunity to like him 1st. But yes, he likes Byleth slighy more.
Ultimate is such a beautiful game . Sure Leo is Great , but the balance team made an amazing job in this game . 80+ characters and a lot of them are viable. Corrin winning a major , unreal

I liked the hype, but they were barely commentating on what was going on in the actual match, could be more balanced.

Can't fault them for that, especially if the tourney is in their country. I watch gluto tourneys even though I can't understand them every time.

I mean by results this year Spargo has 1st at Summit, 1st at G4, 1st at Collision and 2nd here compared to Leo's 4th at Summit, 3rd at G4, 3rd at Collision and 1st here. I say Spargo is still the number 1 this year but Leo is catching up.

I knew Leo was light years far away from done. He brought a new character almost no body uses, not even a high tier, and he destroyed everyone. This man is the greatest Ultimate player of all time.

This is what sets Leo apart from almost every other player. When the community starts to figure out his main, he picks up a new one and now everyone has to figure out his new character. He can adapt so well and isn't stuck in a one or two character loop. Absolute goat!
Leo raised Ultimate's level once again by covering his bad matchups with another character. I believe Ultimate is meant to be played with more than one character and counterpicking to cover the bad matchups.

@@number2777 not excuses. Leo played it knowing people didn't know the matchup that well. People took a while to learn his Byleth but he got dethroned in the last tournament. So he switches his character to confuse people on the matchup. Corrin and Byleth are not really exceptional characters, they are not the best characters by a long shot, but people don't know the matchup.
I often use corrin, so I’m very happy to see this much up. I hope he use corrin in more tournaments and get 1st.

I hope Ultimate can last a long time so we keep seeing the skill level pushed like in Melee
Nintendo making a new Smash too early will make Ultimate feel like a waste since 90% or more will probably move to the newest game and we will not see all the intricacies of this one.
Leo can pick a character and make it look top tier. People now is going to start playing Corrin just like every character Leo made look broken in the past. Also let’s talk about how comfortable Leo feels to win and that people is actually proud of him, hugging him, his smile says it all

Guys - Let's not forget to give some love to our Mexican commentators. English is their second language, but they did their best to keep speaking it and with such energy and enthusiasm. I'm happy for a sport that many of us from different parts of the world can enjoy and wish these commentators the best. I'm looking forward to more tournaments where we have a beautiful mix of commentators screaming their butts off together in unison!

I like to call Byleths on Elite Smash as MKLeos and Clouds as Sparg0s.
Side b kick kills earlier than sm4sh lol. The only things that got nerfed were distance traveled on the kick and (pretty substantially) landing lag on the kick.

I really enjoy watching these Mexican tournaments. I hope we can see more of them--they have some really good players (and commentators)
There is something *different* about how they move. I realize the combos, parries, and all that are what many people might think most impressive. But I can't get over the incredible movement... it's like they aren't hesitating at all, they have all the options clear at any time. This was something I noticed with Leo's Byleth, originally, but it's clear they both have it mastered now.

Im lucky to live in mazatlan, i was heading home with a friend and there is this famous location called “olas altas” and they were walking there (chag,goblin,lizz and more and of course leo) so we didnt think about it two times and i just pulled over and ask him for some pictures, such a nice guy, he is a legend and from now on i will remember the day i met THE LEGEND!! , What a great tournament was delfino maza!!

See, even though Sparg0 has been the best player this year so far, I’m not gonna say he’s #1 yet. Leo may have had a rough start (though 4th and 3rd are still great), he’s proven that he is still up there and nearly got the 24-0 this tournament.
I’ll wait until the end of this year to make my final judgements, but for now it’s Leo
Spargo has not been the best player this year so far, like spargo won 2 tournaments in a row and that's it. Amazing results, but Leo's definitely still got the edge on him this year.

These commentators are great, they aren’t the most professional and the commentary isn’t always up to par but there are a lot more chunks of gold than stainless steel commentary.
As much as I love Leo’s Joker, I’m enjoying his Corrin as well. The movement was immaculate, it’s refreshing.
