So today I purchased my first A2000. I have never used any other glove besides Rawlings in my life and let me just say that within the 3 hours I've had it, I've fell in love with it. The feel is amazing. I'm impressed at the work you guys do. You've made me a believer and also converted me. My DP15 is my favorite glove I've ever had. Such an amazing piece of equpiment. Well done Wilson.
As with all baseball gloves, catching a ball in the heel might sting because of the reduced padding. On the DP15, the reduced heel does make you more likely to feel sting but this will not adversely affect how you use the mitt. The reduced palm construction will help give you more feel for the ball while making plays in the infield.
Hey Eric, it’s great to hear that you’ve got a lot of versatility. The web you’re referring to allows for a quick transfer from your glove to your throwing hand, and is a benefit reserved mostly for infielders because they need to be quick. Outfielders prefer the Pro-Laced T-Web, the Dual Post Web, or the Six Finger Web because it allows for a deeper pocket when tracking down fly balls.
We’re glad you like your A2000s! Aso is crazy busy these days planning out the 2014 glove line. It takes a long time to put all of the pieces in place for a glove line.
The DP15 will be a great glove for you in the hot corner and give you the versatility to play other positions. Will Middlebrooks of the Boston Red Sox uses it there as well. We always recommend using a glove that feels best and that you’re most comfortable with, above all else. Thanks for being a member of Team Wilson!
Thank you so much for the info. The passion, quick replies, and knowledge in these videos and your replies has made me a Wilson baseball man for the rest of my days!
There are many updates to the pattern to make the DP15 have a more snug fit in addition to the wrist strap. The finger stalls are shorter and narrower, measurement between the palm and back finger leather is tighter, and the back fingers come further down on the hand.
Both would be great options for you, especially if you’re considering SuperSkin (twice the strength, half the weight). We would recommend the DP15 to you if you’re looking for a tighter fit around the wrist. The Showcase models (designed for a younger player or a player looking for a tighter-fitting glove) are also recommended for you.
The Showcase 1787-SS is designed for players with smaller hands and also has more narrow finger slots, hand opening, and SuperSkin to keep it light. We recommend trying them on in-store to see what feels best! We do not currently have plans to open a custom A2K shop.
Our most popular outfield gloves are the KP92 and the 1799. The KP92 (12.5”) has a Pro-Laced T-Web while the 1799 (12.75”) is a little bigger and has a Dual Post Web. Try them on at your local glove shop to see which one feels best!
Since you’re looking for a versatile glove that allows you to play infield and outfield, we recommend the A2000 DW5 SS. It is a 12” glove with a dual post web that will give you the reach you need in the outfield and a pocket that is the right amount of deep for a utility player.
Great question. There are a few differences between the DP15 and the 1786. Both are 11.5” and have an H-Web. The DP15 comes with a reduced heel pad to increase feel, a smaller hand opening, extra-long laces and rolled dual welting. The DP15 is now approaching the 1786 as the most popular infielder’s glove, so you can’t go wrong with either.
Dustin has an older A2K with the same specs as the A2000 DP15 and chooses which one to use depending on how he's feeling. He uses the A2K often, but we've seen him use the A2000 a lot this season too.
Yes, your A2K will stay firm because Pro Stock Select Leather is, in our opinion, the best glove leather available. But like we said before, how you care for your glove factors in greatly into maintaining its shape for multiple seasons. If you want it to last, store it properly and somewhere that’s well ventilated. You may also want to periodically tighten the laces on the glove.
The A2000 DP15 has extra-long laces, a smaller hand opening, and less padding than a regular A2000. The A2K will have the Pro Stock Select leather you mentioned as well as an extra palm-pad for cushioning. If you can, try them on in-store; that will help you find the right fit for your hand.
We do offer some single-color A2Ks in pitcher models, but you’re correct in that the other models are two colors. Our line for 2013 is complete, but planning is currently underway for 2014. We’ve forwarded your request to our R&D department, thanks for the feedback and suggestions!
We recommend an A2000 SC-DW5 (11.5”) or A800 EL3 (11.75”). The A2000 Showcase model is made with Pro Stock leather and has a smaller hand opening and narrow finger slots to accommodate a smaller hand or a player who is looking for a more snug fit. The A800 DW5 is made with Ecco Leather and will come almost game-ready but may fit a little larger than the Showcase A2000. Both gloves will be a perfect crossover glove to use at 3B and in the OF!
Hi Zach, typically third basemen use a glove that is 11.75-12”. Evan Longoria’s Game Model, the A2000 EL3, is 11.75” while David Wright’s Game Model, the A2K DW5, is 12”.
We recommend you check out the A2000 1786 (11.5”), the DP15GM (11.5”) or A2000 SC 1787-SS (11.5”). The 1786 is our most popular infield glove and can be purchased with SuperSkin which is twice as strong and half the weight of leather. The DP15GM is Dustin Pedroia’s Game Model glove and comes with a smaller hand opening, reduced palm pad, and extra-long laces.
Evan Longoria’s A2000 EL3-SS is a great glove for a middle infielder who also plays third! We suggest breaking the glove in so that it has a little shallower of a pocket than normal if you’ll be spending most of your time at 2B or SS. With a classic look that Evan prefers, the D-shaped pocket and orange tan leather will help you at either of those positions.
We use a different stamp on the gloves we provide at Spring Training to help us keep track of them. The gloves we give to players at Spring Training are the same quality and cut as any glove you can purchase from an authorized retailer.
The main benefit of using two fingers in the pinky slot is a deeper pocket, which some players feel more comfortable with. By not having an index finger under the back of the pocket, the leather can flex more each time the ball is caught and the pocket can stretch more than glove used with normal hand placement. It also gives more strength when closing the glove and minimizes sting. Let us know what you think!
We recommend the A2000 1786 (11.50”). It’s our most popular infield glove and features an H-Web used by players like Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez. The A2000 1787 is an 11.75” option that has the same H-web as the 1786.
@wilsonballgloves It turned out great! When I wear my fingers in the glove normally it fits perfectly, but when I put two in the pinky it was just a little to tight. Im probably gonna switch back to how it was normally just because I like two in the pinky better, but its great that I always have options with the glove! Thanks Wilson!
@swingin276 The Evan Longoria Game Model - A2000 EL3GM is 11.75” and has a smaller hand opening than most of our infield models. The 11.75” A2000 Showcase B2 has a tighter wrist opening intended for the younger player with smaller hands
Dustin has an older A2K with the same specs as the A2000 DP15 and chooses which one to use depending on how he's feeling. He uses the A2K often, but we've seen him use the A2000 a lot this season too. Good eye!
@badgerhockey99 Our 1786 in either the A2K or A2000 is our most popular model for shortstops. If you have smaller hands try our A2000 DP15GM. Thanks for the great comment! We’re glad you’re all enjoying the communication. We LOVE being able to interact with the people using our products every day.
The A2000 1786 (11.50”) will be very similar to Dustin’s and have a little more padding in it as well. The A2000 1787 is a little longer (11.75”) and is also comparable to the DP15. If you’d like more padding, the same models are produced as A2Ks, which have an extra palm pad in them to lessen sting and add durability. You can flare any of these mitts out as you break them in and make them as soft as you’d like.
We don’t sell direct and don’t currently have these available in our 2013 line. We recommend searching for these online and seeing where you can find one.
You can use this glove with any sized hand, depending on your hand size it might feel tighter and give you more control of the glove - it all depends on how you use and wear y our glove on the diamond. We recommend trying it on in-store to see how it feels!
The RB8GM will feel like a true 12.75” mitt and is based on the 1799 pattern. It has a deep pocket that can be increased or decreased depending on how you break it in.
It all depends on your hand size and personal preference. The DP15 will fit most hands snugger as it is designed to accommodate a smaller hand and is Dustin Pedroia’s Game Model. The DP15 is also ¼” shorter than the 1787.
The only color we offer Dustin Pedroia’s Wilson A2000 DP15 Game Model is saddle tan. This year we added dark brown laces. You can create any color of the A2000 DP15 at the Wilson Custom Glove Shop, though!
We made the A2000 version with Dustin, but it takes him years to get a glove game ready. We’ve seen the A2000 DP15 make some appearances (reference the game I sent an image from earlier…I think it was on the same day as the Boston Marathon vs the Yankees), but there’s a chance Dustin won’t make the full-time switch for awhile.
@emericancitizen10 A2K glove have Pro Stock Select Leather and are worked on longer at the factory. This allows them to arrive a little more broken in than an A2000. They also has a double palm pad which aids in durability. The gloves have slightly different feels, and that’s what it comes down to for the pros - they choose the glove that feels the best to them. Visit a local store and try both gloves… choose the one that feels best on your hand!
We are unable to make a 12” version of the DP15 as it is customized directly for Dustin. For a 12” infielder’s glove, we recommend the DW5 (12”) which comes with a dual post web and will give you the length you’re looking for. Brandon Phillips uses a custom A2K 1786 (11.5").
The A2000 EL3 (11.75”), A2000 DW5 (12”), or the A2000 1787 (11.75”) are great options for you at third base. All feel a little different and have different webs so try them on in-store first and see which one fits you the best.
The DP15 has less padding to mirror Dustin Pedroia’s game model which is why you may feel the ball more with this glove. You can try a batting glove or palm-pad to help with the sting you're feeling.
Availability will vary from retailer to retailer; we recommend you check a few in your area and online to see who has the DP15 in stock still. You can also find a dealer locater on our Wilson homepage.
If you’re worried about the size of your hand in the A2000 DP15 GM, we recommend visiting your local dealer and trying one on before making your decision. While the A2000 1786 and the DP15 GM are very similar (11.5” glove with an H-Web), Dustin Pedoria’s modifications make the feel of the DP15 GM slightly different than that of the 1786. There are multiple modifications, including narrower finger stalls -- as well as the hand opening.
We recommend the A2000 DP15GM. The A2000 (11.50") will have more of Dustin's modifications than the A2K (smaller hand, long laces) compared to the larger A2K (11.75"). Be mindful of the jump in size you're thinking about making and try on the gloves before you buy; we're happy to have you on Team Wilson!
The JH32 is an extra-large hand opening to mimic Josh Hamilton’s gamer, so we recommend staying away from this one if your hands are smaller. We recommend trying on the A2000 KP92 (12.5) or the A2000 SC-B2 (11.75”), A2000 SC DW5 (11.5”) or A2000 SC 1787 (11.5”). The Showcase (SC) is designed for players with smaller hands and also has narrower and shorter finger sheaths; the length of the glove is also shorter than the KP92 (0.75” - 1” shorter).
Our A800s are game ready and made with Ecco Leather. Most of our pros prefer the A2000 and A2K models made with ProStock and ProStock Select Leather so they can break in the glove exactly how they want during Spring Training.
The DP15 is Dustin’s Game Model, so everything about the DP15 is exactly like Dustin’s glove. If you customize at DP15 on the Wilson Custom Glove Shop, it will be 11.5” and include the same features as his gamer - including an H-Web, extra long laces, a low profile heel and a snug fit compared to most of the A2000 models.
The A1000 is made with Exclusive Ecco Leather which is more game-ready and easier to break in than our A2000's. The A2000 is manufactured with Pro Stock Leather that will, generally, be more difficult to break in but offer up a better durability and feel than our A1000's. You've made a good choice with the DW5!
The wrist opening are very similar between the DP15 and the Showcase series. Not two models have the exact same wrist opening because the patterns themselves all differ; but the DP15 and the Showcase gloves are all similar.
@brandon ferris Hey Brandon, thanks for the question. Yes, the glove’s fit is more snug due to the Pedroia Fit. As for the model you should go with, we recommend either the A1K OTIF or the A1K 1787. The OTIF was made for pitchers who also play infield due to its 11.5” size, shallow pocket, and Trap web to help conceal your grip on the mound. You can find it on our site here: www.wilson.com/en-us/baseball/gloves/infield/a1k/otif-baseball-glove/. The 1787 is another great optionbecause of its 11.75” length which gives you the extra reach that is ideal for third base. You can find it on our site here: www.wilson.com/en-us/baseball/gloves/infield/a1k/1787-baseball-glove-2014/.
@RC_Adv3ntur3s Both are made using the same Pro Stock glove patterns, but there are some differences. A2Ks use ProStock Select Leather while A2000s use ProStock Leather. The ProStock Select makes for a softer leather that is easier to break-in but is also more durable. A2Ks have double palm construction, but A2000s do not. This makes it so that A2000s have a little more “feel”, but the double palm construction makes A2Ks more durable. In general the A2K will arrive a little softer than the A2000, but it is designed to last even longer. More pros choose the A2000, but you’ll see both on MLB diamonds. If you can, we suggest you try on both an A2K and A2000 at a local store and choose the one that feels best on your hand.
No, the DP15GM is part of our Game Model series which features the gloves of 8 players including Ryan Braun, C.J. Wilson, Rickie Weeks, Evan Longoria, David Wright, and more.
The BP model will have more padding because it is an A2K and all A2Ks come with a double palm pad. The DP15 has a reduced palm pad to mimic Dustin’s game glove. Unfortunately, we cannot customize A2Ks at this time and all stitching must be done when the glove leather is flat prior to assembly.
Check out our other video where Aso breaks in Brandon Phillips' game edition glove for full details, but a small amount of oil is recommended. Use a cloth to apply so you're able to control how much and where it goes!
@incrediblekacki Dustin is using an A2K right now but will switch over to the A2000 DP15 soon! Some players don’t like switching gloves during the season.
@baseballkid253 I recently got this exact glove and let me tell you it's great! The less padding is more of a mental thing because now i KNOW that I've fielded a ground ball properly and can make a quick transaction from glove to hand!....Take it from me a mere 14 year old...this glove is GREAT!
Pedroia is the reason I started to play baseball
Bennett Czajka cool bro
Bro why you so rude
@LettuceWin what the heck is wrong?
i love the og dp15
Hi Mike, good luck…the DP15 is awesome! Can’t wait to have you on #TeamWilson!
I just got this glove in the mail yesterday and it felt great my dad took me out to the field and it felt amazing IT'S A GREAT GLOVE!!
We got time with Dustin when he was on the road playing in Chicago. With a guy that popular you take what you can get!
I want that glove. Wilson does a great job of showing the players with their gloves
Yes! Those two gloves along with the rest of our 2014 glove line will be available in August.
I Got this glove yesterday ITS AMAZING I LOVE it i NEVER let it out of my sight and i don't put it in my baseball bag! Thanks Wilson
If you want it to last, store it properly and somewhere that’s well ventilated. You may also want to periodically tighten the laces on the glove.
When Dustin began working with Wilson we created the A2K DP15 for him, and he’s been using an A2K and A2000 version of that glove since.

The DP15GM is Dustin Pedroia’s Game Model glove and comes with a smaller hand opening, reduced palm pad, and extra-long laces.
@lennonhckyman We do not have pricing information yet. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, we will post there as soon as it’s been finalized.
We recommend searching online for it - many retailers keep old models in stock for purchase by fans. Our 2013s began shipping last month.
We use a different stamp on the gloves we provide at Spring Training to help us keep track of them. The gloves we give to players at Spring Training are the same quality and cut as any glove you can purchase from an authorized retailer.

Played some of the best baseball of my life in this glove 🙏
Can't wait till the customization for Wilson comes out!! Going to order a glove, so fast!
Anytime! Glad we could help.
Dustin has an older A2K with the same specs as the A2000 DP15 and chooses which one to use depending on how he's feeling. He uses the A2K often, but we've seen him use the A2000 a lot this season too. Good eye!
Mikes eyes are huge
Colin V HOLY NUTSACK UR RIGHT
Looks like he has eyeliner too.
I Just Orded This Glove Like 3 Days Ago, I can't Wait To Get It!!!
Lol. I remember watching this shit as a freshman in HS. I'm going to be 22 soon...
Same
same
The A2000 1786 (11.50”) will be very similar to Dustin’s and have a little more padding in it as well.
I just got my DP15 and love it!
Thank you so much Wilson does great with feedback keep up the good work!
Yes you can have the wrist adjusted! We recommend taking it to a glove shop to have a professional re-lace it for you.
@ONLYUSEmeCLAWS Yes, the DP15 has a tighter hand opening than other A2000 models. Try it on in the store and see if that design is more comfortable.
Thanks Wilson you guys really helped i really appreciate the help. now i got a palm pad and i barely feel any sting.
He uses both gloves depending on how he feels that day. We’ve definitely seen a lot of the A2K lately as well.
Most of our pros prefer the A2000 and A2K models made with ProStock and ProStock Select Leather so they can break in the glove exactly how they want during Spring Training.
one of my friends has this glove and he already named it and loves it
Zach Orchard I named mine Lola, like from space jam
The DP15 is Dustin’s Game Model, so everything about the DP15 is exactly like Dustin’s glove. If you customize at DP15 on the Wilson Custom Glove Shop, it will be 11.5” and include the same features as his gamer - including an H-Web, extra long laces, a low profile heel and a snug fit compared to most of the A2000 models.
I'm getting Dustin's glove today!
@LukeThomass If you're using it for both softball and baseball then try the two 11.75" Superskin models, the EL3-SS and the 1787-SS.
It was so long ago and such legend that no one knows for sure, rumor has it that it was called the "Witch" or something close to that.
The wrist opening are very similar between the DP15 and the Showcase series. Not two models have the exact same wrist opening because the patterns themselves all differ; but the DP15 and the Showcase gloves are all similar.
Hey Ryan, the A2K DP15 is currently not available in our glove line-up, but we’re constantly evaluating the gloves that we have available.
@garr102 Some players do not like to switch gloves in the middle of the season. Dustin used the A2K in 2011 and will use his A2000 DP15 in 2012.
The 1796 is a good hybrid glove for both Pitcher and Infield. Good choice!
He does! Check out 2:29 in the video to see the laces in action.
@baseballboy2215 We are not announcing the name of the site yet, but yes, you will be able to customize the DW5 and all other A2000 models.
You should try all of these gloves on first to see what feels best to you now and what will keep you on the diamond as you keep growing.
All of our gloves are made in both countries depending on the demand and factory capacity.
We are currently updating our website and it will have the new model online soon.
@HgOuTitar If you relace the wrist of the glove you can loop it through the open holes and it will tighten. Let us know how it goes!
@CarolinaRedsBaseball Yes, Dustin will wear his signature A2000 DP15 model beginning next season. He is breaking in his gamer as we speak!
We can’t say quite yet, but all will be revealed next month. Stay tuned!
You can recreate Dustin’s DP15GM on our custom glove site and select “Pro Stiff” from the “Personalize” section.
Sure will be, Tyler. We’re planning on releasing three game models in the 2013 line.
I just got the Orlando Hudson a2000 it feels great
@ONLYUSEmeCLAWS It just depends on how the double-pinky technique feels to you, a lot of our pro infielders use this but in the end it's up to you!
Dustin's new A2K will be for sale in August along with the rest of our 2014 glove line.
Shipping time is 7-to-10 weeks so you would probably receive your glove in mid-July...perfect for the last half of summer headed into off-season.
New 2013 models will begin to be shipped in August and September.
@garr102 We are launching a custom glove website this December, and you will be able to customize any A2000 glove!
Some players don’t like switching gloves during the season.
just got this glove for christmas! she's beautiful :)
@baseballkid253 I recently got this exact glove and let me tell you it's great! The less padding is more of a mental thing because now i KNOW that I've fielded a ground ball properly and can make a quick transaction from glove to hand!....Take it from me a mere 14 year old...this glove is GREAT!
