I've noticed that a lot of mlb infielders with the i/H web gloves don't have the doubled up X's rather they have single run of lace which isn't how the gloves come from factory. I wonder what their thinking is of making just a single run of lace rather than a doubled run of lace through that portion of the x lacing of the base of the webbing.
I assume that the ball gets trapped better in the loose web and it’s a deeper pocket too.
